Your dream photo shoot awaits…… Award-winning Lake District attraction, Ullswater ‘Steamers’, is offering a unique opportunity to step aboard for an exclusive Dawn Photography Cruise. Led by the renowned photographer Mark Littlejohn, who was crowned Take a View Landscape Photographer of the Year 2014, the new cruise will take place on March 5th – perfect for witnessing that stunning spring time dawn. Departing from the Glenridding Pier at 6.30am, the 3.5 hour private charter will allow participants to capture the essence of the atmosphere through the lens, with expert advice from Mark. The award-winning photographer, of Penrith, said: “At dawn you get the early light come up over the Pooley Bridge end and it shines on to the Helvellyn range, which is beautiful. You see the sun coming up over the Pennines and hitting St Sunday Crag, and look up just as the first light hits the fells – it’s amazing, particularly when there is still snow on the tops. “When you get a colourful dawn it can happen 45 minutes before, so we can position the boat just right to get a composition that you could just not get from the road. It’s a completely different experience that lets you get out on the lake and capture that golden hour from a new perspective. “Some really good photographers will come just to have that unique experience, but for those who need guidance, I will be going through the technical aspect of photography. I will explain how best to take a shot, about the settings within the camera, using filters, and I will also set up a screen downstairs to go through processing.” Ticket prices for the Dawn Photography Cruise are £45 per person, which includes the cruise, photography expertise and complimentary tea/coffee on-board. Participants must book in advance, wear suitable clothing and take breakfast. Visit www.ullswater-steamers.co.uk or call 01768 82229 for more information.
