Vice Chairs Robert G. Douglass I feel spring in the air! Or, is it wishful thinking? James Hillman President and WNIT continues to make progress to bring the PBS Kids Channel to Michiana. It will be General Manager our third broadcast service. We’ve been at a technological “dead end” and need to purchase a Greg Giczi considerable amount of equipment to go beyond our current 2-channel capability. Our goal is Treasurer $750,000 and we’re almost there. If you are passionate about early childhood learning, consider William J. Schmuhl, Jr. being part of launching this channel. Secretary Hayley G. Boling Another of Michiana PBS’s Legends of Michiana documentaries is coming in March. We will st Directors premiere the story of Joe Kernan on Thursday, March 21 at 8pm. Joe is a Vietnam war hero, Jim Arnold former Indiana governor, South Bend mayor, minor league baseball team owner, and all around Tania Bengtsson terrific guy. It’s a story you will want to watch. Thomas G. Coley, Ph.D. Marvin Curtis Katy Demarais March brings our largest membership drive of the year. We will have special programming from st th Joel D. Duthie March 1 through March 17 . Several programs will have ticket offers for local performances Rebecca Espinoza-Kubacki by Brit Floyd, Daniel O’Donnell, Joe Bonamassa, and Ethan Bortnick. We pick up the story Mary Louise Miller in the spring of 1964 and everyone is excited for the Queen’s royal birth. I know this series is a Pat Moody favorite of many! Steven J. Perlewitz Mike Pound April brings a couple of programs that caught my eye. WNIT will feature Breakthrough – Rebecca Stoltzfus, Ph.D. James M. Summers the Ideas that Changed the World on Wednesday, April17th at 10pm, and Boss: The Black Kimberley Bow Sundy Experience in Business on Tuesday, April 23rd at 8pm. According to Commander John Terry, the woman was quickly able to free her hands and call police. Officers Jane Cechman and Dave Jalbert arrived on scene within minutes of the call and found the woman in the bedroom. She was bruised and cut from being tied up, but otherwise not physically harmed, according to Terry. The burglar used a stick to poke the woman, but was other- wise unarmed. The officers searched her home and canvassed the neighborhood but could not find the intruder, described as a white male, approximately 40 years old, 5 feel 10 inches tall with a slender build and scraggly, blond chin-length hair.
