Over the past four months, the community-led 2018 Facilities Task Force reviewed quantitative data, qualitative information, and impact potential as prepared by two District-led expert work teams. The Division of Fire on-site observations are critical in ensuring that in an emergency, occupants leave the building in the shortest time possible without confusion. All companies will begin conducting school fire drills on October 3, 2016. Companies should continue until a fire drill has been conducted at each assigned school.     Litter Free School Zones is a 2 year commitment by a Columbus City School to build pride while keeping their school, campus, and surrounding neighborhood streets litter free. An official city sign is put in the public right of way to signify the school is a Litter Free School Zone partner and an official notice of expectation to the community at large for keeping the area clean. Keep Columbus Beautiful provides gloves, litter grabbers, vests, rolling trash containers, promo- tional signs, and buttons to partnering schools, all free of charge. Schools are asked to use creative measures to promote the program, such as public service an- nouncements at sporting events, litter ambassa- dor teams, poster contests, or writing articles in the school newsletter. Keep Columbus Beautiful is also working to reconnect schools to their neighborhoods for service learning and community service credits. Youth engagement with community leaders builds pride and awareness about how much work it is to keep a neighborhood clean, safe, and beautiful.
