Sameer Patel, Conductor A Detroit native, Sameer Patel currently serves as associate PROGRAM conductor of the San Diego Symphony. He has performed as a John Stafford Smith The Star-Spangled Banner guest conductor with many leading orchestras, including the Lyrics Francis Scott Key Arr. Arthur Luck St. Louis Symphony, National Symphony, Toronto Symphony, Leipziger Sinfonieorchester and others. Leonard Bernstein Overture to Candide Patel studied at the University of Michigan and later moved to Europe to further his training. His mentors include Gianandrea Leroy Anderson Summer Skies Noseda, Daniele Gatti, Kurt Masur, Bernard Haitink, David Zinman Edward Kennedy “Duke” Ellington Ellington Centennial and Neeme and Paavo Järvi. He is the recipient of three Solti Arr. Cunliffe Chief Warrant Officer Kevin Pick, Conductor Foundation U.S. Career Assistance Awards, as well as citations from the Accademia Chigiana, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Thelonious Monk Round Midnight Arr. Cunliffe Tish Oney, Vocalist Conductor Variations on a Shaker Melody Originally from New Windsor, New York, Chief Warrant Officer Kevin Pick earned a master’s degree in music from the University Various Composers Armed Forces Salute of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree in music from Arr. Vince Norman & Daniel Woodi Chief Warrant Officer Kevin Pick, Conductor Ithaca College. Before joining the United States Army, CW2 Pick spent five years as a public school music teacher in New York INTERMISSION and Ohio, and since then his assignments have included the USAREUR Band and Chorus in Heidelberg, Germany, the 323D Midway March Army Band in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and most recently at the 392D Army Band at Fort Lee, Virginia, where he served as John Williams Suite from Lincoln The People’s House commander and bandmaster. Formed in 1969, this 19-member ensemble has received great acclaim both at Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture Ouverture Solennelle, Op. 49 home and abroad performing America’s original art form — jazz. With live cannon fire provided by Loomis’ Battery, Michigan Light Artillery* The Jazz Ambassadors of the United States Army Field Band has performed in all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Japan, India and Europe, and in joint concerts with the Boston Pops, National Symphony, Pittsburgh Symphony, Seattle Symphony and many more, as well as at Carnegie Hall with and the APPROXIMATELY 10 P.M.
