He has shown the transformation of F1 cars from the traditional to ultra-fast cars. He maintained the humility on the track and of the tack that's why he is retained as the greatest. We have seen the generation of Alan, Seena and Micheal. They were absolutely fabulous on the track. He has won the driver championship five times in a row. That is something unbelievable. For instance, it provides minimal coverage of the Hockenheim fuel fire investigation and the cover-up afterwards. Nor does it discuss any of the other controversies like the Ferrari driver aid in Aida, McLaren gearbox case, or discuss whether the driver aid ban contributed towards the crashes etc. This book w Useful research for my upcoming book www. Similarly it does not give the analysis into the Benetton cheating allegations my book offers www. Very informative but annoying how it was more a collection of quotes with little narrative than a true bio. Great Read for any F1 Fan! James was fair with the whole Schumacher fiasco, especially in Jerez. I purchased this book in and just had a chance to read it! Aug 29, Saurabh Job rated it it was amazing. Must read for a true fan. The story of a Formula 1 legend, one of the true greats of the sport, with more World Michael Schumacher: The Edge of Greatness than any other driver up to present Not only was Schumacher a great driver, the best I have seen in my lifetime, the guy had character, he would jump out of his car, and go face to face with other drivers, he brought excitement to Formula 1. These days formula 1 in my own opinion lacks characters like Schumacher, many drivers in formula 1 Michael Schumacher: The Edge of Greatness days seem to have be tailor made in their attitudes to be media friendly. This book covers many subjects in Schumachers pursuit of perfection, which sometimes crossed a line - with disastrous results for Schumachers Michael Schumacher: The Edge of Greatness. This book shows both sides to Schumacher brutal to his adversaries, generous to those close to him. This book gives the story of Schumacher until he retired with Ferrari, it does not include his comeback years at Mercedes. A truly great book, one Michael Schumacher: The Edge of Greatness the best F1 books around. Many people will enjoy this book. Shelves: autobiography. First of all, you need to give a damn about Formula One. You also can't be too much of a nut for Alonso. Or Senna. Or anyone who Michael Schumacher: The Edge of Greatness MacLaren. Whether you think Schuey is a cheat or a genius, this book lends some pretty good insights into the man, the mentality, and the empire he built with Ferrari. Not always sympathetic to his course of actions, I found the author wrote it like a passing commentary on Michael's life. Which makes sense when you realise the author's James Allen, huh. I came awa First of all, you need to give a damn about Formula One. I came away more blown away about what the man has achieved and what an anomaly he sometimes is, particularly when you contrast his private life to the world of racing. I do suspect that my rather passionate Spanish friend would take great offence with how James credits Michael for changing the face of Formula One arguably for the better. But otherwise, if you're a rather neutral spectator, or just love reading what drivers have to say about one another, this proves a very easy read. Great for a weekend holiday. Doesn't hurt the brain. Nice pictures. This book didn't flow as smoothly as I'd have liked. Possibly because it focuses on unravelling Schumacher's character rather than his life story. Episode 44 – Sidepoddie Awards [Intro: Rich Reich, Keeping Up With the Race] Chris: Welcome to Sidepodcast, this is Episode 44 – Sidepoddie Awards. Hello everyone, welcome to the last show for 2007. Me: Ah, does that mean we’re taking a break? Chris: Um, no, not really. We did have a season review show planned but that’s going to merge with some shows early in January. And, we were going to do a news show this week, but quite frankly, I can’t face having to say anything else about McLaren. Me: And I don’t blame you, but there’s plenty to talk about on that subject, but, next year. Chris: Technically you do get a couple of weeks off, what with it being Christmas and all, but it’s not really a winter break. We’re gonna be sitting back, taking stock of what we’ve accomplished this year and what we intend to do next year. We’ll still be blogging and all that stuff. Me: That doesn’t sound much like a holiday, and that sounds very uh, overblown, and over the top. Have you been reading some Hollywood scripts recently? Chris: Really, all we’re gonna do is let the weekly audio show show take a break while we fix all the things that we’ve been saying we’ll do all year and never getting round to. Me: Why didn’t you just say so in the first place? Chris: Anyway, it’s time to get on with the show. Me: Ooh, shall I crack open the Red Bull for one last time? Chris: Please do, yes.

19-194 October 13, 2020 Formula 1: Unleashing the Greatest Racing Spectacle on the Planet Ben Shields and Cate Reavis At the conclusion of its 2019 season, Formula 1’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Chase Carey, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Sean Bratches, and Managing Director of Motorsport Ross Brawn had a lot to celebrate. Attendance for the season’s series of 21 Grands Prix (races) was 4.2 million, a 2% increase over 2018. This uptick took into account the partial cancellation of the Japanese Grand Prix in October due to a typhoon. The average three-day race weekend attendance was over 202,000, with three Grands Prix – Great Britain, Australia, and Mexico – boasting attendance of over 300,000.1 The last race of the season, held in Abu Dhabi, attracted a sold-out crowd even though the driver and team champions had already been determined weeks prior. Meanwhile, the TV cumulative audience of 1.9 billion for the motorsport was up 9% over 2018, although the number of unique viewers was down 4% to 471 million. The F1.com site recorded 1.1 billion page views, and the sport had a social media following of over 25 million. In addition, Formula 1,i which held the commercial rights to the FIA Formula One World Championship, was close to achieving consensus with the sport’s regulator, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), and the F1 teams on an updated Concorde Agreement. Among other things, the highly confidential agreement spelled out how prize money would be divided among teams. The agreement, which was typically renewed every five or six years, also included new rules and regulations for the sport which would come into effect in 2021.
