SHRI BHUPENDER YADAV: Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state: (a) whether some railway stations in the country have been declared as Adarsh Railway Stations; (b) if so, the names thereof and the details of the development work undertaken at each of these stations during 2011-12 and 2012-13 so far; and (c) the amount sanctioned and spent during the above mentioned period on such projects, State-wise, indicating the Budgetary allocations made during the year 2012-13 ? THE MINISTER OF RAILWAYS (SHRI MUKUL ROY): (a) Yes, Sir. (b) Names of the stations identified for development under the 'Adarsh' Station Scheme, zone-wise is given in the Statement-I (See below). Development work viz. improvement to facade of station building, circulating area, lighting arrangement, waiting halls, provision of water coolers, passenger guidance system, pay and use toilet, public address system and Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) are undertaken, depending upon the category of station, while developing stations under Adarsh station scheme. List of stations developed as Adarsh stations so far including those developed during 2011-12 and 2012-13 is given in the Statement-II (See below). (c) Station-wise and State-wise details of amount sanctioned and spent on development of stations under Adarsh station scheme are not maintained. Expenditure on development of stations under this scheme is incurred from Written Answers to [18 May, 2012] Starred Questions 41 allotments made under Plan Head 'Passenger Amenities'. The details of expenditure incurred railway-wise during 2011-12 under Plan Head 'Passenger Amenities' and allocation for 2012-13 are given in the Statement-III.     Jagadishpur begins ‘Healthy Village through Healthy Habits’ initiative Jagadishpur Gram Panchayat (GP) in Bali Jagacha Block of Howrah District in West Bengal has launched a cleanliness programme to make the GP area clean and at the same time keep local people healthy during this pandemic situation. The initiative carried out with technical support from Aamra Susama Jalaprapat (ASJ) facilitates sustainable behaviour change and promotes safe sanitation practices. The key objective of this special initiative is to create healthy villages by motivating people to adopt healthy and hygienic habits on a sustainable basis. Towards this, all efforts will be made to involve people from all the households, institutions, markets of the GP in this initiative. It will include activities such as interpersonal communication, habitation level meetings (Para Baithak), wall writings, distribution of IEC materials, awareness camps, etc. to facilitate community participation and achieve programme objectives. Inauguration: The initiative was inaugurated on October 2, 2020 by Minister-in-Charge of Forest department (West Bengal), Shri Banerjee in the presence of special guests i.e – District Magistrate of Howrah, Smt. Mukta Arya, SDO (Howrah-Sadar), Officer-in-Charge (Health), Sabhapati and Sahakari Sabhapati- Baly Jagacha Block, BDO (Baly Jagacha), and Joint BDO. Others present on the occasion were Pradhan and Up-Pradhan Jagadishpur GP, social activist - Tapas Maity, Working President of Aamra Susama Jalaprapat Smt.     GOVERNMENT OF INDIA PRESS SANTRAGACHI, HOWRAH Information as per Clause(b) of Sub-section 1 of Section 4 of Right to Information Act, 2005 (1) IV (1) bi : The particulars of Govt. of India Press, Santragachi, Howrah, Function and duties. In the year 1863 the Govt. of India decided to establish in Calcutta and Central Press in which administration reports, codes and miscellaneous work could be printed. The Secretariate Printing Offices then in existence confining themselves to current despatches and proceedings. In January, 1864, the orders of the various department of Govt. of India and the Acts and Bills of Governor General’s Council which were formerly published in Calcutta Gazette were transferred to a new publication, the Gazette of India to which was appended a supplement containing official correspondence on the subject of interest of officers and to the general public. In 1876 a system of payment of piece rates was introduced in the composing Branch and subsequently in the distributing, printing and book binding Branches. In June, 1885, the presses of the Home and Public works Department were amalgamated with the Central press. The expansion of the Central Press from a strength of 109 employees, 1863, to that 2114 in 1889 necessiated the provision of additional accommodation pending the building of the Secretariate, the press was located from 1882 to 1885 at 165, Dharmatala Street. On completion of the Secretariate Building the Composing, Machine, press and warehouse, with the administration, Accounts and computing Branches were removed to 8, Hastings Street in 1886. During the World War II, work mostly in Connection with the war increased by leaps and bounds and to cope with the increases of volume of work the minimum strength of additional staff was recruited as a temporary measure and Night Shift was started in the year 1944 with the advent of Independence and consequent expansion of Govt.

ABSTRACT: Developing countries like India presently suffer to the enormous growth of urbanization. And the urbanized area similarly carried the problem of slum. Presently, Indian Population is 1/6th of the world population. Accelerating urbanization is forcefully effecting the transformation of Indian society. Slightly more than 28 percent of the country's population is urbanized, but unfortunately 21.68 percent (61.8 million) of the urban population live in slum area. As per Last NBO report total housing shortage was 19.4 million units. In urban are the shortage is 6.6 million unit and 90% of these shortage hits poor and LIG people. It’s become a very common urban scenario that thousands of dwellings made of straw, mud, tin, and cardboard are squeezed into areas of a small city block. In these cramped dwellings, often only an arm-span in width, entire families live without running water, electricity. Few have beds; they sleep on scraps of cloth padding on the dirty floor. Rapid growth of industrialization creates enormous employment opportunity. It attracts the lower income peoples and the unskilled labours from the rural area. The high rate of migration from rural area to the urban sector formulated slum area, because these men are unskilled labours to industries.
