Stone Water and Ice, A geology trip through the , takes you through the evolution of from the start of its formation over 300million years ago when it was the seabed of a tropical ocean, through tectonic plate activity, ice ages, rises and falls in sea levels, erosion and deposition, all to create the Burren we know today. There are nine GeoSites in the Burren, and each one is visited in the accompanying book. Clear directions to each GeoSite is given so you will be easily able to locate them, and the accompanying infomation tells you of the unique geological features of each Site. There are Quests suitable for all ages for many of these GeoSites, challenging you to find some features at each location. You will also find suggestions of additional locations in the Burren where you can explore and learn more about the Burren and it’s many geological gems and visitor information.
