2 Matthews PARK PARK & RECREATION BOARD MISSION The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board shall permanently preserve, protect, maintain, improve, and enhance its natural resources, parkland, and recreational opportunities for current and future generations.

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board exists to provide places and recreation opportunities for all people to gather, celebrate, contemplate, and engage in activities that promote health, well-being, community, and the environment. MINNEAPOLIS PARK & RECREATION BOARD POLICIES

•Registration begins on Monday, December 6th at 6:00pm •All programs begin the week of January 3rd unless noted otherwise. •Participants are not considered registered until all fees have been paid and participant re ceives a confirmation of registration. •Non-resident fees are 50% higher. •A class may be canceled if there is an insufficient number of registrations. •Please plan your schedule carefully. Refunds are only given when a registered participant cannot participate due to medical reasons.

•The Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board believes that all Minneapolis residents have the right to a full recreational experience. Qualified residents who cannot afford instruc- tion fees because of economic need may be permitted instruction at little or no charge. Contact the Recreation Center Director for more information.

Park Areas and Facilities:

The MPRB encourages Minneapolis residents of all ages and abilities to fully utilize park facili- ties, including recreation center buildings, and to take advantage of its year-round recreation and leisure program services.

Public and/or private agencies, organizations and other Minneapolis groups also have the op- portunity to request the use of these facilities for their own self-directed programs.

MPRB staff may permit use of neighborhood/community park areas and facilities, provided those used do not significantly affect normal park use, negatively impact the Board’s resources, and are not in conflict with the Park and Recreation Board mission. The sponsoring organiza- tion shall be required to meet permit requirements and pay special use fess when applicable.
