In 2013, Tommie Frazier became the 16th former NU player selected to A stand alongside the six former Husker coaches inducted into the Hall. Frazier will be officially inducted into the Hall of Fame in December of 2013. Before Frazier, the last Husker to be honored among the elite field was offensive guard Will Shields, who was a member of the 2011 College Football Hall of Fame Class.
