Completed more than 7 translation projects on different topics of Medicine, Scientific and Technology during Msc course, including different aspects of human health, pharmacy, dentistry, medical technology, environment, electronics, energy and innovations in industries. Well-versed in voice-over, dubbing and subtitling and working with relevant softwares such as Windows Movie Maker and WinCAPS. (Msc dissertation: Subtitling an animated film into Chinese.) Skilled in translation technology. Proficient in various CAT tools including SDL Trados, SDL Multiterm, MemoQ, Wordfast, OmegaT, Catalyst, etc. Trained in working with translation memory and termbase to maintain consistency, accuracy and efficiency in translation. Skills and Hobbies

Volunteering. Current member of Taking Action for Development through United Nations Online Volunteering Service since 2013. Former member of Youth Volunteers Association in Zhengzhou University between 2008 and 2012. Past volunteering experience includes caring for elderly in nursing homes and teaching children ball games and English from underprivileged homes. Special interests in sports. Familiar with English-Chinese rules of various sports including basketball, football, tennis, table tennis and sepak takraw. These activities promote health and cultivate both teamwork and communicative skills towards sports translation and voiceover for sport events. Fond of science, movies, documentaries and reading, which greatly broadens my perspective of current affairs in the world and propagate my enthusiasm for audiovisual translation.

August 2013 – Present Provided online voluntary translation service for United Nations Volunteering (UNV). Currently undertaking 1 translation project concerning undergraduate online course content. 2012 – 2013 Worked as an ad-hoc translator. Completed 4 translation projects associated with technical product manual and committee report translation. 2010 – 2011 Worked as customer service support at Henan Xiaoxintong educational firm. The jobscope includes providing consultations, handling inquires from clients and implementing follow up actions on clients’ requests.
