OLDER PERSON’S DIRECTORY NORTH GLASGOW CHCP Information on Local Resources for Older People in North Glasgow CHCP Elderly Resource Team This directory contains a cross section of organisations which provide a service to people aged 60 and over in the North of Glasgow. Not all are based in the North but are either active there or offer a city-wide service. Some groups also work with other age and client groups and not exclusively with Older People. Although the organisations have been broadly categorised for ease of reference, many groups provide multiple services e.g. a team whose main function is Information and Advice may also provide befrienders or a handyperson service. Groups such as this can be found in the Information / Advice category as it is their primary function. The “Description” section allows groups to explain their wider remit. As with all resource directories, although all details should be accurate at time of publication, it is advisable to contact the individual groups directly for additional information. 1 INDEX Section One: ASYLUM SEEKERS / REFUGEES – Page 3 Royston Integrated Neighbours Group Saint Rollox Church of Scotland Scottish Refugee Council Glasgow Asylum Seekers Support Project Asylum Seekers and Refugees Health Visiting Team Tron Saint Mary’s Church Section Two: CULTURE AND LEISURE – Page 3 Colston / Milton Parish Church Saint Monica’s Chapel Daffodil Club Saint Roch’s Invalid Club Greater Springburn Stroke Club Springburn Alive and Kicking Possil and Milton forum on Disability Chest, Heart and Stoke Scotland Shanti Bhavan Community Action Team Saint Andrew Methodist Church “Living it Up” physical and Outdoor Activity Team Saint Augustine’s Church Section Three: HEALTH – Page 4 North Elderly Mental Health Inpatient Service North Glasgow Community Food Initiative Parkview Resource Centre Possil Stress Centre Glasgow Association for Mental Health Well Elderly Group Section Four: INFORMATION, ADVICE AND ADVOCACY – Page 5 Equal Say The Advocacy Project Red Road Women’s Centre Maryhill Citizens Advice Bureau North West Women’s Centre Positive Action in Housing SWS Community Development Section PSS Scotland Caretas Sighthill Community One stop Shop Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland North Glasgow Advice Centre West of Scotland Seniors Forum Milton Advice Centre Glasgow North Victim Support Section Five: PRACTICAL AND CARE – 7 Glasgow North Area Volunteer Centre Good Morning North Glasgow Alzheimer Scotland North West Glasgow Service Springburn Volunteers and Befriending Project Alzheimer Scotland Glasgow Younger Person’s Support Service Cook and care Project Bridgeview Resource Centre Springburn and Royston Handyperson Scheme Pinkston Resource Centre Milton Access Project Springburn Dementia Project Milton Volunteer and Care Project Glasgow Dementia Working Group Glasgow North Carers Support Team Springbank Street Project: The Mungo Foundation Glasgow North West Carers Project Elmvale Day Centre Crossroads Hamiltonhill Day Centre Community Support Project for Dementia Oasis Sufferers and Carers Ruchill Care Concern Ferguson Anderson Dementia Project / Richmond Fellowship Alzheimer Scotland – Action on Dementia Oran Street Day Centre CASE (Community Assessment and Support for Older People) Section Six: LISTINGS – Page 9 Housing Health Centres Jobcentre Plus Offices Social Work Services Pharmacies Sheltered Housing 2 SECTION 1 – ASYLUM SEEKERS / REFUGEES CATEGORY ADDRESS DESCRIPTION CONTACT NUMBER / NAME Royston Integrated Flexi Centre Working to bring the changing Tel: 0141 553 0808 Neighbours Group 102 Royston community together by involving the Contact Name: Nick Virgo local community with the Asylum Road G21 2NU seeker and Refugee communities.
