Floristics -the taxonomic assemblage of plants in an area, their geographic ranges, evolutionary and migratory history. My first exposure to the Arizona flora was as a first semester graduate student in Les Landrum's 'Trees and Shrubs' in the fall of2000. I quickly realized floristics was the thing for me. Deciding to do a flora was the easy part, but there are many factors to consider when choosing a site- size, accessibility, travel, location, etc ..
