MTV Studios to Reimagine “Celebrity Deathmatch” for a New Generation December 5, 2018 Ice Cube and Cube Vision Set to Executive Produce, With Ice Cube to Lend Voice Talent in a Lead Role Original Creator Eric Fogel to also Executive Produce, With Additional Talent to Come NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 5, 2018-- MTV Studios today announced plans to reimagine “Celebrity Deathmatch,” the seminal stop-motion satire that skewered celebrities, politicians and everyone in between during its famed original run. Ice Cube joins the franchise for the first time and will both star and executive produce alongside his partner Jeff Kwatinetz through his Cube Vision production company. Series creator Eric Fogel will return to executive produce as well, with additional showrunners and talent to be named shortly. The all-new “Celebrity Deathmatch” will be available as a weekly series for an exclusive SVOD or premium broadcast partner in 2019. The move marks the first step in reinventing the franchise across consumer products, gaming, theatrical and more. Ice Cube/Cube Vision are represented by WME. “Celebrity Deathmatch” expands Ice Cube’s long-standing relationship with the MTV family, with Cube Vision currently producing “Hip Hop Squares” for MTV sister brand VH1. “We’re excited to grow our partnership with Ice Cube and Cube Vision to reimagine this fan favorite,” said Chris McCarthy, President of MTV, VH1 and CMT. “’Deathmatch’ was the meme before memes, remains a hot topic on social media and will be a smart, funny way to tackle the over-the-top rhetoric of today’s pop culture where it belongs – in the wrestling ring.” “Happy to once again be working with Viacom and MTV on a fan favorite like ‘Celebrity Deathmatch’ and to continue our success together,” said Ice Cube.

IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF THE UNITED STATES FOR THE MIDDLE DISTRICT OF ALABAMA, NORTHERN DIVISION JAMES DAVIS, ) ) Plaintiff, ) ) CIVIL ACTION NO. v. ) 2:05cv860-T ) (WO) METRO GOLDWYN-MAYERS ) PICTURES, et al., ) ) Defendants. ) OPINION AND ORDER Plaintiff James Davis brought this lawsuit against numerous defendants, including Metro-Goldwyn-Mayers Pictures Inc., Metro-Goldwyn-Mayers Distribution Co., State Street Pictures, Cube Vision Production, O’Shea Jackson a/k/a/ Ice Cube, Mark Brown, Don D. Scott, Marshall Todd, Matt Alvarez, Larry Kennar, George Tillman Jr., and Robert Teitel. Davis charged these defendants with copyright infringement as well as state-law claims bases on tort and contract. This cause is now before the court on the defendants’ motion to dismiss certain defendants for lack of personal jurisdiction and to transfer venue or, in the alternative, to dismiss all claims for failure to state a claim upon which relief can be granted. Also pending are Davis’s motions for leave to conduct discovery on the issues of jurisdiction and venue and to join as additional defendants Showtime Networks, Inc. and MGM Television Networks, Inc. For the reasons that follow, the defendants’ motion will be granted as to the transfer of venue. I. The facts according to Davis are that he wrote a screenplay called “The Shop.” He gained a copyright for this work in August 1999. He then began to solicit various movie companies and entertainers to secure a movie 2 production deal. In 2002, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures Inc. began promoting the movie “Barbershop” which utilized Davis’s screenplay without Davis’s permission and without any compensation to Davis.

SHIRLEY LIBBY, C.A.S. Production Sound Mixer Member, IATSE 695/479 Shirley Libby became hooked on sound during a college break while working for a radio station in Wichita, Kansas where she did a radio drama for the station and ended up changing her major to Radio/TV/Film. Recording sound for films was in her future. After working as a still photographer in Atlanta she began working on film sets as photographer which led her back to what she really wanted and loved – sound – where she began as a boom operator. Getting clear dialogue is a constant challenge and requires skill and adaptability. With the advent of multiple cameras and the love affair of the wireless microphones, added to noisy wardrobe and props, to the ever increasing noise level of the world, a mixer has to make instant decisions regarding microphones, using the boom mics effectively and picking the right piece of equipment. Shirley takes pride in and loves being an important part of a film or television team of widely divergent professionals, with everyone doing their piece of the film as expertly as possible. Shirley has lived in Atlanta for many years, well before it became the shooting hub it is now.
