U.S. Open 2013 Extra.Pub 2013 U.S. Open Preview Josh Hyde’s Bowling Newsletter Extra July 2013 Tournament Pre view Tournament Format All bowlers will bowl 24 games of qualifying. The cut will feature the top one-fourth of the field. Those bowlers will come back and bowl six more games of qualifying. After a total of 30 qualifying games, the field will be cut to the top 24. The top 24 will bowl 24 games of round Pete Weber 2012 U.S. robin match play. After a total of 54 games the top 4 will advance to Open Champion the championship round stepladder finals. Past Champions U.S. Open 2013 Highlights Chris Barnes 2005 At the 2013 U.S. Open they will have both the women’s and men’s U.S. Opens coinciding with each other. This year’s event will feature Norm Duke 2008, 2010 a 42’ flat pattern. The Player of the Year candidate can be a definite factor at this year’s tournament. The race involves Parker Bohn III, Jason Mika Koivuniemi 2001 Belmonte, Pete Weber, Sean Rash, Mika Koivuniemi and Scott Norton. All Tommy Jones 2006 of these players are a deciding factor for the Player of the Year Race. Weber won this year’s Tournament of Champions, he became to win the Bill O’Neil 2010 Triple Crown twice. Weber is also coming off a win at the USBC Senior Masters, plus he has won this Tournament five times . Jason Belmonte Walter Ray Williams Jr 1998,2003, won the USBC Masters. He also won the Bear Open which is the hardest pattern that is a non-major. Scott Norton dominated the Winter Swing. He Pete Weber 1988, 1991, is also a multiple winner on the PBA Tour this year. Parker Bohn III won his 2004,2007, 2012. second major at the PBA World Championship and he got fourth at the USBC Masters. At the conclusion of each U.S. Open there will be an exhibition match between the men and women’s U.S. Open’s winners. This year’s U.S. Open will be another exciting event on the PBA Tour. .
