MISSION STATEMENT Through a vibrant Catholic education, we cultivate the individuality, faith, talent, and aspirations of young women who will lead and serve the world.

THE SCHOOL Originally, Rosati-Kain was established as two separate educational institutions named for and , the first two Archbishops of St. Louis. The centers were run by the Sisters of Saint Joseph (Rosati Center) and School Sisters of Notre Dame (Kain Center). In the fall of 1911, the two centers combined to form one school, Rosati-Kain. Presently, Rosati-Kain educates students from throughout the metropolitan St. Louis area and (109 grade schools and 66 zip codes) to enrich, cultivate, educate, and prepare them for their future in the new century. Located in the city’s Central West End, Rosati-Kain serves young women diverse in religious, geographical, social, racial, and economic backgrounds.

Rosati-Kain is accredited by AdvancED. Currently there are 33 faculty members; 64% hold advanced degrees.

Admission is by selection based on standardized test scores and grade school record. There are currently 277 students enrolled; 60 seniors, 85 juniors, 77 sophomores, and 55 freshmen. When asked, students identify themselves as the following: Black or African American (24%), Hispanic or Latino (5%), Multiracial (6%), White/Non-Hispanic (60%), and Other or Not Reported (5%). Currently 21% of our school’s population qualifies for free or reduced lunch according to the U. S. Department of Agriculture’s Eligibility Guidelines.

THE CURRICULUM The school year consists of 2 semesters of 18 weeks (each with 9 week reporting periods). Credits and GPA are calculated each semester.

GPA: set on a 4.0 scale based on all subjects. College credit and AP courses are weighted.

RANK: Rosati-Kain does not rank students.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS The minimum number of credits for graduation for all students is 28. The course distribution must meet the requirements of the AdvancED, the State of Missouri, and the standards of the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The requirements are:

COLLEGE CREDIT Students must receive special approval to take more than three courses classified as ACC or AP each school year. Students may not take more than four AP or ACC courses in one school year without a special contract. This year seven students are taking four courses. Two students are taking five classes.
