The time of the presentation of the Poenulus at ^ Rome is also imcertain : Hueffner believes that the capture of Sparta ' was a purely Plautine reference to the war with Nabis in 195 b.c. and that the Poenulus appeared in 194 or 193 b.c. The date, however, of the Roman presentation of the Pseudolus is definitely established by the didascalia as 191 b.c. -

A Post-Apocalyptic Redefinition of Space in Cormac McCarthy’s The Road Una redefinición posapocalíptica del espacio en The Road, de Cormac McCarthy SAMUEL TASCÓN OLMEDO Institution address: Universidad de Valladolid. DOI: https://doi.org/10.24197/ersjes.41.2020.123-142 Abstract: Homelessness undergoes an important change in a post-apocalyptical setting: it becomes the norm, the only reality for the survivors. Through a process of defamiliarization and reinterpretation of the new reality, space goes back to its mythical sphere, where a permanent sense of anxiety and distress dominates everything. In the present paper, a new vision of homelessness in the characters and spaces portrayed in Corman McCarthy’s novel The Road is presented. Focusing on the new spatial conception will offer a fresh perspective to interpret how a father struggles in his attempts to instill in his boy a strong system of moral values while travelling through the vastness of a space without boundaries that only has one defining and common characteristic: the road. Keywords: Homelessness; space; place; redefinition; post-apocalypse. Summary: Introduction. Topophobia and Existential Angst: The Fighting Response of the Rebel. Kids and Youth
Kids and Youth Games and projects for you and your friends Hi! welcome to this page made specialy for you. Here you will find a lot information about disaster prevention. This section is under construction file:///C|/Documents%20and%20Settings/EIRD%20PANAMA/Escritorio/Kids%20and%20Youth.htm [12/21/2006 03:44:19 p.m.] Let´s learn about disasters Nature is the source of life We human beings are a part of nature, and our quality of life depends on all the living things that share this planet with us. We must take care of nature, because our well-being depends on it. Nature is always moving and changing. This happens in different ways, for instance through natural phenomena that occur quite regularly, such as rain, winds, earth tremors or the natural processes of soil erosion. Earthquakes, floods, fires, volcanic eruptions, tropical storms, tornadoes, electric storms, landslides, droughts, plagues and other phenomena such as "El Niño" and "La Niña" are a part of nature, just like the sun and the rain. These natural phenomena affect almost the entire Earth. In olden times, people used to come with legends to explain these phenomena. They would say the volcano was angry, or that the gods were demanding a sacrifice. Today, science, technology and history help us to understand these events instead of merely fearing them. However, such phenomena still turn into disasters, affecting lots of people in every corner of our planet where a culture of prevention has not yet taken root. http://www.eird.org/eng/ninos/desastres/desastres.htm (1 of 2) [12/21/2006 03:44:24 p.m.] Let´s learn about disasters http://www.eird.org/eng/ninos/desastres/desastres.htm (2 of 2) [12/21/2006 03:44:24 p.m.] Untitled Document What is a hazard? A hazard is a phenomenon or a process, either natural or human-made, that can endanger a group of people, their belongings and their environment, if they do not take precautions. -

Texto recibido: 12/07/2012; aprobación final: 11/11/2012. Abstract. Four decades ago, Brazilian officials plotted designs for colonization and resource extraction in Amazonia; subsequently the region has become a test-lab for successive development regimes. Along the Santarém-Cuiabá Highway (Br-163) in the state of Pará, residents have engaged in a range of licit and illicit activities as official development policy has shifted throughout the years. Despite assertions that living along the unpaved road is tantamount to “being stuck” in place and time, residents move widely throughout the region, using the road, trails, streams, and rivers as thoroughfares.
