Weston, GPO Box 75, Melbourne, Vic. 3001 Telephone: (03) 9817 6711 Fax: (03) 9817 6125 6 A Poll Dorset Ram A typical Poll Dorset Ewe 7 REGION BOUNDARIES Poll Dorset members in Australia are grouped into 15 geographical regions, which are administered by Regional Committees, whose duties are to keep Council informed and advised on local problems, arrange and carry out flock inspections, organise and conduct sales as required, be responsible for pre-show and pre-sale inspections, recommend judges to small show societies within the Region, assist and advise breeders in the Region in regard to all matters relating to the Association and to promote and safeguard breed interests in the Region at all times. The States which are regions in themselves are Tasmania and Western Australia, while Queensland Members are included in the Northern Region. There are no registered Poll Dorsets in the Northern Territory. The boundaries of the remaining 13 Regions are detailed as follows: • Northern: Queensland and Northern area of NSW bounded by a straight line from Mungindi (N.S.W) to Taree (N.S.W). • Tamworth: Area in N.S.W. bounded by one line from Mungindi to Taree and a second line from Gosford to Mudgee to Coolah to Coonabarabran to Baradine to Walgett to New Angledool. • Central Western: Area in Central N.S.W. bounded by one straight line from Gosford to Mudgee to Wellington to Yeoval to Tullamore to Euabalong West to West Wyalong to Boorowa to Sydney. • Dubbo: Area of N.S.W. bounded by lines from NewAngledool to Walgett to Baradine to Coonabarabran to Coolah to Mudgee to Wellington to Yeoval to Tullamore to Euabalong West to Wilcannia to Broken Hill. • South Western: South West area of N.S.W. bounded by lines from Mulwala to Narrandera to West Wyalong to Euabalong West to Wilcannia to Broken Hill. • Albury-Wagga: Area in South N.S.W. bounded by lines from Mulwala to Narrandera to West Wyalong to Young to Boorowa to Khancoban. • Southern Tablelands: Area in South East of N.S.W. bounded by lines from Khancoban to Rye Park to Rugby to Sydney. • Goulburn Valley: North east area in Victoria bounded by lines from Inglewood to Torrumbarry to N.S.W. border and from Inglewood to Glenburn to Omeo to N.S.W. border. • Wimmera Malee: North West area in Victoria bounded by lines drawn from Bordertown to Hall’s Gap to Inglewood to Torrumbarry to N.S.W. border. • Gippsland South East area in Victoria bounded by lines drawn from Melbourne to Glenburn to Omeo to NSW border. • Central (Vic) Central to South area in Victoria bounded by lines drawn from Port Fairy to Hall’s Gap to Inglewood to Glenburn to Melbourne. • Naracoorte-Hamilton: Area in Victoria and South Australia bounded by lines drawn from Meningie (S.A.) to Keith to Bordertown (S.A.) to Hall’s Gap (Vic.) to Port Fairy (Vic).
