Peterborough Rural crime and information update – 1st to 31st May 2016 Please find enclosed reported crime and incidents of note during the period 1st- 31st May 2016. I have changed the format slightly so crimes and any relevant incidents can be reported. I am also including the Crime reference so if any local residents have information they can ring 101 and quote the crime reference. This report is intended to inform Parish Councils and their communities of issues they should be aware of and will not include incidents such as domestic violence or personal assault for example. My colleague Helen O’Driscoll has kindly said she will pick up this report and look to produce one at end of June. I will make sure she has your email contacts. This month has seen the rural crime team working with Environment Agency working together checking fishing licences – to date 10 people have been reported for other offences and for not having a valid fishing licence – all in rural areas across Cambridgeshire. Reports of poaching or hare coursing – incidents reported in following areas: 11th May - North Bank, Thorney – report of illegal fishing – passed to Environment Agency 28th May – Splash Lane, Castor – illegal fishing incident – names taken and passed to Environment Agency 29th May – Willow Drove, Newborough – report of silver vehicle and dogs – rural crime team dealing Northborough Ward (crimes and incidents of note) Northborough – distraction burglary reported – Lincoln Road – two males claiming to be from Water Board distracted an elderly victim and have stolen large amount of cash – CF0222910516 refers Glinton and Wittering Ward (crimes and incidents of note) Castor – overnight 16th May – report of criminal damage at Castor Primary School on Stocks Hill – unknown persons have gained access to outside area thrown toys around and damaged some containers – CF0205510516 refers Castor – overnight 19th May – criminal damage reported to vehicle parked in Berrystead.

Introduction 1.1 The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF)1 requires local planning authorities to identify and update annually a supply of specific deliverable sites sufficient to provide five years worth of housing against their housing requirements. 1.2 This report sets out the five year land supply for Peterborough City Council between the period 1 April 2017 and 31 March 2022. 1.3 This report is based on the council’s Housing Monitoring Report2 (March 2017) which sets out all sites under construction, with full or outline planning permission at 31 March 2017. The Five Year Land Supply Report also includes sites identified as proposed allocations in the Further Draft Local Plan3 (December 2016). Parish Council Chairman's Report 17th May 2012 Annual Parish Meeting 2012 – Chairman’s Report Another year in the life of Eye Parish Council. Special thanks go to Audrey for taking over as chairman in my illness and doing such a splendid job and to the members who were all supportive of both me and Pauline and of the clerk. Welcome to Steve Booth who as rejoined the Parish Council Thanks to Ray Dobbs for his help and support as a Ward Councillor, we all wish him well for the future. Welcome to Dale McKean as our new Ward member and we look forward to working with him as well as Ward Councillors David Sanders and David Harrington for the benefit of our residents. We said goodbye to Elaine Buddle as our PCSO. Elaine was a very good officer and worked really hard on our behalf and she is sorely missed. We now have PCSO Donna Grummitt and PCSO Yane Pokhun who cover Eye and Thorney and PCSO Mary Webber covers Eye Green, Newborough and Peakirk Brian Lucken who has worked for us on a casual basis for a number of years is moving on to other work and we wish him well. Adam Watts has now joined us, he is a very pleasant young man and keen to have Eye looking neat and tidy. If you see him in the cemetery or in other areas please stop to say hello. He will soon be planting up the planters - in red white and blue of course. A16 opened – traffic calming in Eye Green is in placed but still being fine tuned to get right! We are working with the police and the City Council to ensure that traffic keeps to the speed limit, especially in Crowland, Thorney & Eyebury Road.

LAQM provides a means of achieving improvements in air quality to help secure national air quality objectives. National air quality objectives are set out in the Air Quality Strategy for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The first Air Quality Review and Assessment in Peterborough was carried out by Peterborough City Council in 1998. Results showed the air quality objectives were likely to be achieved by the relevant deadline in all areas of the local authority. As a result no Air Quality Management Areas (AQMA) were required in Peterborough. The second, third and fourth Air Quality Review and Assessment in Peterborough were carried out by Peterborough City Council in 2003, 2006 and 2009 respectively. Results showed the air quality objectives were likely to be achieved by the relevant deadline in all areas of the local authority except for the village of Thorney as a result of road traffic emissions and the already declared AQMA for emissions from the brickworks located in a neighbouring Local Authority.
