CO-MAJOR PARTNER Welcome A Chairde, It is an honour for me, on behalf of the Gaelic Football and Hurling Association of Australasia, to welcome you to the Michael Cusacks’ All Sydney GAA Championship. The “All Sydney” is fast becoming one of the key dates in the NSW Gaelic Games calendar, as it kick starts the playing season for coaches and players alike, and really sets the tone for the rest of the season in Sydney. I am sure that today’s games, across all codes, will be highly competitive as the teams and clubs involved are keen to seize the first official silverware of 2015. I would also like to congratulate NSW ladies footballers Ciara Breen (Michael Cusacks) and Noreen Sullivan (Cormac McAnallens) who will both play for Australasia at the GAA World Games in UAE next month, in addition to Kieran Olwell (NSW President and former Michael Cusacks’ Chairman) who is the team coach and manager. It is a fantastic achievement to be selected to represent your adopted country in Gaelic Games on an international stage. Following on from a hugely successful Australasian Championships in 2014, plans are already afoot for Wellington this October, as New Zealand play hosts to the games for the first time in a number of years. We trust there will be a strong contingent of players from NSW across all codes making the trip across the Tasman, with the NSW ladies footballers vying for that all-important “4-in-a-row”. Finally, as we kick off another new season in Sydney I wish to pay tribute to all those who give freely of their time and expertise in running your teams, clubs and the NSW GAA Association as a whole – your commitment to the development and promotion of our games does not go unnoticed. Gerard Roe Secretary, Gaelic Football and Hurling Association of Australasia (GFHAA) A Chairde, As chairman of Michael Cusacks Gac I'd like to welcome everyone to the 2nd All Sydney GAA Championship. After a few false starts the competition got off the ground last year and the day was a huge success. With the influx of new members joining Sydney GAA clubs showing no signs of slowing, this competition gives codes a welcome opportunity to get in some match practice before the upcoming season. Last years tournament saw many high quality encounters across all codes with Cormac McAnallens and Central Coast coming out on top taking two trophies home each. The Michael Cusack’s Club look forward to welcoming all clubs, spectators and sponsors out today and hope that everyone has an enjoyable and successful day. Daniel Ward Chairman, Michael Cusack’s GAA Sydney “I call for the Irish people to take the management of their games into their own hands, to encourage and promote every form of athletics which is peculiarly Irish.” Michael Cusack, Founder of the GAA LIVING, WORKING OR TRAVELLING ABROAD? DRAFT LIMERICK DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2022-2028 Volume 3B Proposed Record of Protected Structures Newcastle West Municipal District June 2021 Contents 1.0 Introduction Record of Protected Structures (RPS) – Newcastle West Municipal District 1 2.0 Record of Protected Structures - Newcastle West Municipal District ................................. 2 1 1.0 Introduction Record of Protected Structures (RPS) – Newcastle West Municipal District Limerick City & County Council is obliged to compile and maintain a Record of Protected Structures (RPS) under the provisions of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended). A Protected Structure, unless otherwise stated, includes the interior of the structure, the land lying within the curtilage of the structure, and other structures lying within that curtilage and their interiors. The protection also extends to boundary treatments. The proposed RPS contained within Draft Limerick Development Plan 2022 - 2028 Plan represents a varied cross section of the built heritage of Limerick. The RPS is a dynamic record, subject to revision and addition. Sometimes, ambiguities in the address and name of the buildings can make it unclear whether a structure is included on the RPS. Where there is uncertainty you should contact the Conservation Officer. The Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht is responsible for carrying out surveys of the architectural heritage on a county-by-county basis. Following the publication of the NIAH for Limerick City and County, and any subsequent Ministerial recommendations, the Council will consider further amendments to the Record of Protected Structures. The NIAH survey may be consulted online at buildingsofireland.ie There are 286 structures listed as Protected Structures in the Newcastle West Metropolitan District.

Irish Volunteers Co. Limerick, 1917 -; Captain same Company later; Adjutant West Limerick Brigade. Subject. National activities, Rathkeale, Co. Limerick, 1913-1921. Conditions, if any, Stipulated by Witness. Nil S.2523 File No. Form B.S.M.2 STATEMENT OF JAMES ROCHE Ardbohill. Ardagh. Co. Limerick. I was born in the parish of Rathkeale on the 4th March, 1898. I was sent to the local national school until I was 14 years of age. When I left school I was apprenticed to the drapery trade in Rathkeale. A sluagh of the Fianna was formed in Rathkeale in the year 1913. I was among the first to join. Sean Finn became 0/C. A man by the name of P. Hogan was organiser. Our strength was approximately 20. We did the usual drilling in uniform for 12 months or so. A company of Volunteers was formed in the year 1914. With other members of the Fianna I wanted to join, but would not be accepted as I as too young. After Redmond's speech in which he called on the Volunteers to join the British army the Volunteers ceased to exist in Rathkeale.
