George Fox College begins its fourth yeor in the Coleman H. Wheeler Center for Sports and Physi­ cal Education. Completed in June 1977, the $2.7 million, 55,000-square-foot complex is the col­ lege's largest building. It contains the James and Lila Miller Gymnasium, the Oruin home court. The sports center was designed by noted archi­ tea Pietro Oelluschi. with a wooded canyon set­ ting chosen as the center's location. The building features wood products and a large w indow area overlooking the adjacent natural terrain. Three times larger than Hester Gymnasium, which it replaced, the Wheeler Center features a 116 x 17 4-foot gymnasium w ith three basket­ ball courts and seating for 2,700 speaators.
