Lunenburg Prepares for Free Coronavirus Testing LUNENBURG - The number of positive cases in Lunen- burg have lagged behind other areas throughout the spring and early summer, but many people believe that this is partly a result of fewer people here being tested. County officials have worked with the Virginia Depart- ment of Health Piedmont Health District in setting up a testing location for county residents. The event will take place at Central High School and is a Drive-Thru commu- nity testing procedure. It will take place on June 27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event is being held at Central High School located at 131 KV Road in Victoria. While the service is free, the tests will be on a first- come, first served basis. Lunenburg Sees Biggest

Two-Day Jump in Positive

COVID-19 Cases

LUNENBURG - Lunenburg County saw the biggest in- crease in COVID-19 cases so far over the past weekend as the county jumped from 21 confirmed cases to 28 from Saturday to Monday. This increase was not attributed to any clusters noted by the Virginia Department of Health. Lunenburg has continued to have some of the lowest numbers in Southside Virginia throughout the spring and early summer, but with more testing now taking place and with a free testing event this Saturday, there is an expecta- tion that the numbers will see more increases in positive tests during the coming weeks. Lunenburg County officials offered the following- test ing information for county residents. Testing is available at both of the Lunenburg County family medical practice offic- es: Kenbridge Family Medicine (434-676-8021) and Southern Dominion Health Systems Lunenburg Medical Center (434- 696-2165). Please call them if you are experiencing symp- toms or have been exposed to someone with the virus. The Piedmont Health District, with Lunenburg partners, is lining up a free COVID-19 drive-through testing site on Saturday.
