1. INTRODUCTION 1.1 National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (Society) was set up in the year 1982 by Govt. of as an autonomous body for coordinated growth and development of hospitality management education in the country. Initially, the Council was set up in the name of National Board of Studies in Food Management, Catering & Nutrition under the administrative control of Ministry of Agriculture (Deptt. of Food) and subsequently it was transferred to Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India in the year 1984 with renaming as National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology. The office of the Council is situated at A-34, Sector-62, Noida (U.P.) in its own building whereas registered office is at Pusa, . The Council regulates academics in the field of Hospitality Education & training that is imparted at the 21 (twenty one) Central Govt. sponsored Institutes of Hotel Management, 16 (sixteen) State Govt. sponsored IHMs offering Degree level program; 5 (five) State Govt. sponsored IHMs offering Diploma/Craft Certificate level programs, 14 (fourteen) private Institutes and 7 (seven) Food Craft Institutes that function in different parts of the country. Through the Council, these institutes offer 11 (eleven) different professional programs leading to award of Certificate, Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma, Bachelor and Master Degree. (The last two programs are in collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Open University). 2. AIMS & OBJECTIVES AND ROLE OF THE NATIONAL COUNCIL: 2.1 Aims and objectives of National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology and its role as the apex formation in the country to ensure co-ordinated growth and development of hospitality education through its affiliated institutes are elaborated in its Memorandum of Association which among other things, mandates the Council to effectively discharge functions such as:

a. Formulate, guide and coordinate various types of studies, knowledge and research inclusive of Graduate and Post Graduate studies in the field of Food Management, Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition and allied skills and crafts; b. Affiliate Institutions concerned with the subject and prescribe course of study and instructions leading to examinations conducted by it; c. Prescribe standards for buildings and equipment for affiliated institutes; d. Prescribe educational qualifications and other standards for faculty and members of staff of affiliated institutes and, where necessary depute them for further training, both within and outside the country. e. Prescribe educational and other qualifications for admission of students to various courses and prescribe manner of admission of students of different courses at the affiliated institutes; 69 NCHMCT ANNUAL REPORT-2014-15 f. Admit candidates to examinations conducted by it; g. Conduct annual examinations for promotion from lower to higher classes and terminal examinations for award of Certificates, Diplomas and Degrees as prescribed for different courses; h. Publish results of examinations conducted by it; i. Grant Certificates, Diplomas and Degrees to students who have completed and passed the prescribed course of study and examination conducted by it; j. Co-operate with other authorities and bodies in such manner and for such purposes as may be necessary for giving effect to the objects of the Society; k. Promote general advancement of hospitality education, technical or otherwise, amongst members of and those connected with educational and professional interests of the hotel and catering industry; l. Form Rules and Bye-laws to devise and impose means for testing qualifications of persons already working in the industry with a view to grant recognition to their professional attainments and deal with all matters incidental thereto; m. Advise the Government on coordinated development of Hotel Management and Catering Technology education and training and on such other matters as the Govt. may require; n. Do all other such lawful acts and things as may be necessary or incidental or conducive to the attainment of all or any of the objects of the Society; o. Acquire, hold and dispose of property in any manner whatsoever, subject to prior approval of the Central Government being obtained in the case of acquisition or disposal of immovable property; p. Deal with any property belonging to or vested in the Society in such manner as the Society may deem fit for advancing its functions; q. Borrow and raise money with or without security or the security of any mortgage, hypothecation or pledge of the overall or any part of the immovable properties belonging to the Society or in any other manner whatsoever; r. Print, publish and exhibit magazines, periodicals, newspapers, books, pamphlets or posters that may be considered desirable for the promotion of the objects of the Society; s. Receive grants-in-aid, donations, etc. from the Govt. and, if considered necessary, from other persons and utilise the grants etc. so received solely for furtherance of the objects of the Society and in accordance with any conditions therefore imposed by the Government; t. Create and maintain a fund to which shall be credited; i) All moneys provided to the Society by Government of India and other Governments/Institutions; ii) All fees and other charges received by the Society;

iii) All moneys received by the Society by way of grants, gifts, donations bequests or transfers, and iv) All moneys received by the Society in any other manner or from any other source. v) Deposit all moneys into the fund created and maintain them in banks or invest them in such manner as the Society may decide; u. Draw, make, accept endorse and discount cheques, notes or other negotiable instruments , and for these purposes sign execute and deliver such assurances/deeds as may be necessary; v. Pay out of the funds belonging to the Society or out of any particular part of such funds the expenses incurred by the Society from time to time including all expenses incidental to the formation of the Society and management and administration of any of the foregoing objects including all rents, taxes, outgoings of salaries of the employees; w. Carry out such other duties as may be imposed upon it by the Central Government from time to time. 3. MANAGEMENT 3.1 COMPOSITION OF NCHMCT SOCIETY: National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology is a Society Registered under the Societies Act, 1860. Composition of its members as defined in Rule 4(1) of Society's Memorandum of Association and Rules and Regulations is as under:

2. Minister of State in the Administrative Hon'ble Minister of State for Vice–President Department or if there is no such Minister Tourism. such other person as may be nominated by the President.

3. Ministers/Secretaries in charge of the Hon'ble Ministers of the Members Education and the Labour Department in the respective Ministries. (However, Union Government notices sent to Secretary level officers in past)

4. Representatives of the Govt. of respective Secretary (Tourism) of the States Members States in which the affiliated Institutes are and UTs who is also the located. Chairperson, BOG of the affiliated Institutes located in the States/UT. Chairpersons of IHMs at Mumbai and Pusa-Delhi are not the Secretaries of concerned States, hence Secretaries of Maharashtra and Delhi States are not the Members.

5. Chairmen of the Board of Governors of Secretary (Tourism) of the Member Societies managing the affiliated respective State/UTs are the Institutes. Chairmen of the affiliated Institutes as at S. No. 4.

3.2 MANAGEMENT PATTERN Board of Governors, as constituted by Government, conducts business of the National Council under the Chairmanship of Secretary (Tourism), Govt. of India. Chief Executive Officer, who is also a Member on the Board of Governors, overseas day to day affairs of the Council. Composition of the Board of Governors as defined in Rules 28 of Memorandum of Association of NCHMCT (Society) is as under:

4. MEETINGS OF THE BOARD: During the year 2014-15, one meeting (41st) of the Board of Governors of National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology was held on 31st July 2014.

5.2 ADMISSIONS TO B.Sc. PROGRAMME IN HOSPITALITY AND HOTEL ADMINISTRATION FOR ACADEMIC SESSION 2014-15: National Council conducted Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) on all India basis on 26th April 2014 at 52 examination centers spread across 33 cities of the country for admission to First Year of 3-year B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration for 2014-15 academic session. Total 21591 applications were received by NCHMCT through on-line and off-line as on close of last date of receipt of application i.e. 7th April 2014. On-line as well as on-campus counselling was held from 17th to 21st June 2014 with the help of NIC to fill 7945 seats at 51 affiliated Institutes, which includes reservation of 27% for OBC (at Central Govt. IHMs only); 15% for SC; 7½% for ST and 3% for PH Categories. On-line counselling was held at 14 IHMs viz., Pusa (New Delhi); Delhi (Lajpat Nagar); Mumbai; Chandigarh; Chennai; Kolkata; Hyderabad, Jaipur, Bhopal; Guwahati; Gwalior; Hajipur, Dehradun and Lucknow. Earlier to that, NIC also provided facility of 'Mock Counseling' to familiarize the candidates about real time counseling. After third round of the on-line counselling, 6320 candidates were admitted. The session commenced on 21st July 2014. Data of three consecutive years relating to Joint Entrance Examination and Admissions for the 3-Year B.Sc. HHA Program is as under:

5.3 ADMISSION TO OTHER COURSES: Admission to M.Sc. in Hospitality Administration is centrally carried out by the Council. In the case of other courses i.e. P.G. Diploma in Accommodation Operation; PG Diploma in Dietetics and Hospital Food Service; Diploma in Food Production; Diploma in Food & Beverage Service; Diploma in House Keeping Operation; Diploma in Front Office Operation; Diploma in Bakery & Confectionery; Craftsmanship Course in Food Production; Craftsmanship Course in Food & Beverage Service, admissions is directly carried out by the respective Institutes as per eligibility criteria prescribed by the National Council for each of the Course. 6 PROVISIONAL AFFILIATION OF PRIVATE IHMs 6.1 EXTENSION OF PROVISIONAL AFFILIATION TO PRIVATE INSTITUTES DURING 2014-15 ACADEMIC SESSION. During 2014-15, National Council has granted extension in provisional affiliation for academic session 2014-15 to following 8 private Institutes of Hotel Management located in different parts of the country with the intake capacity already approved by the Council. These Institutes, under affiliation to the Council, offer 3-Year B.Sc. HHA Program and other Diploma/Craft courses for academic session 2014- 15: 77 NCHMCT ANNUAL REPORT-2014-15

REPORT ON EXAMINATIONS HELD DURING 2014-15 AND RESULTS OF M.Sc. HA , B.Sc. HHA AND OTHER COURSES: 7.1 Annual Examinations 2014-2015 (ODD SEMESTER TEE) were conducted by the National Council for Hotel Management for the 3-year Degree Course; Post graduate Diploma Courses; Craftsmanship Certificate Courses and Diploma Courses at all its affiliated Institutes of Hotel management and Food Craft Institutes. In all 20632 candidates took the examination held in November/December 2014 for courses indicated here under:

8. CENTRALIZED EVALUATION. During the year under review, NCHMCT conducted centralized evaluation of answer books pertaining to all Semesters of 3-year B.Sc. in H&HA at its headquarters at NOIDA. For this purpose, services of identified faculty members from different IHMs were utilized. Boarding & Lodging arrangements were made by NCHMCT in its guest house as well as neighbouring government guesthouses. 9. INTRODUCTION OF VOCATIONAL COURSES AT +2 LEVEL OF CBSE: As per fresh guidelines from CBSE, text-books were to be prepared for Class IXth and Xth in the subjects of Food Production and Front Office. The NCHM alongwith the expert faculty, drawn from IHMs, prepared manuscripts and submitted to CBSE for preparation of text-books. 10. NATIONAL AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE - HOSPITALITY EDUCATION 2012- 13. During the year under review, National Awards for Excellence in Hospitality Education 2012-13 awards were presented on 6th February 2015 at Dr.D.S.Kothari Auditorium, DRDO Bhawan, New Delhi. 11. COLLABORATION WITH LAUSANNE HOSPITALITY CONSULTING, SWITZERLAND FOR REVIEW OF CURRICULUM AND FACULTY DEVELOPMENT. In 2009, UNWTO mapped the curriculum of National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) and felt the need of improvements to international level. After obtaining approval from Board of Governors of NCHMCT and Government of India, the council entered into an consulting agreement with Lausanne Hospitality Consulting, (a division of Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne). The main objectives of the agreement were; a) Review the existing curriculum and make recommendations for its up-gradation to contemporary international standards. b) Provide faculty development program to enhance the level of delivery to more professional level. c) Conduct annual academic audits. As per the agreement the following activities have been completed. i) The agreement was signed in February, 2014. ii) The expert team from Lausanne visited two IHMs for Gap Analysis. This was followed by a workshop to discuss preliminary findings of the experts. iii) The Academic Advisory Report was received in May 2014.

iv) The recommendations of LHC were shared with all Principals formally in a workshop and in written communication in June 2014. v) Three Principals visited Lausanne School in July 2014, and returned with an Implementation Plan. vi) The Consulting agreement was formally launched by the honourable Minister of Tourism, in a formally arranged function in Samrat Hotel on 6.8.2014. The guest list included prominent persons from the industry and the press. vii) The Principals of all SIHMs were informed of the Lausanne recommendations in a workshop held in October 2014, in Delhi. viii) Qualified Learning Facilitator (QLF) training program was conducted for three batches in the months of July, August and September 2014. The first level of the program was conducted for 5 days in NOIDA. The participants visited Lausanne School for 5 days for the second level. ix) Two QLF training programs are scheduled for October 2015 and November 2015. x) NCHMCT designed Certified Learning Facilitator (CLF) training program, on the lines of QLF. The program was run by QLF qualified faculty members. The program was conducted in the months of September, October 2014, January, February 2015. xi) 35 faculty members have attended QLF program and 53 faculty members have attended CLF program. xii) Following the recommendations of Lausanne, the IHM values were rolled out for the Principals and HODs of all the IHMs. Seven workshops were conducted for the roll out in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. These workshops were attended by more than 120 participants. xiii) A workshop for revision of curriculum was held with the experts from LHC, Principals and Subject experts in the month of March 2015, to finalise the revised curriculum. xiv) Based on the recommendations of LHC, IIM Lucknow has been assigned the job of developing management courses for IHMs and enable IHM teachers to run these. The implementation as outlined above, will result in improved management oriented curriculum and faculty members with enhanced facilitation skills. We are expecting vast improvements in content and delivery of the B.Sc program. 12. DEVELOPMENT OF TOURISM & HOSPITALITY INSTITUTES' MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (THIMS). In view of better data management and e-governance importance, Ministry of Tourism has embarked upon development of a software viz., Tourism & Hospitality Institutes Management System (THIMS) in collaboration with NIC at a total cost of Rs.4,94,97,957/-, which would be borne by NCHMCT & ITTTM on pro-rata (85:15) basis. THIMS would cater to monitor, assessment and operation of the IHMs, FCIs and IITTM Centres relating to the activities of admission, examination and profile etc. of the students as well as teachers and staff. An MOU was signed between NCHMCT and NIC on 6th August 2014. Design, development, training and deployment of the software will take 14 months and application, monitoring, maintenance and helpdesk support will be within 12 months after completion of the deployment. The development and deployment of modules will be in two phases. Each phase will develop and deploy three modules. The NIC has already completed Phase-1 and deployed module 1, 2 & 3. Necessary training to all the representatives from 55 participating Institutes has been completed and now they are successfully uploading the existing data into the software. For creating IT infrastructure at

all the Institutes, Ministry of Tourism has already granted an amount of Rs.32.50 Crore for NCHMCT, IHMs, FCIs and IITTM. Help desk has been set up at NCHMCT by the NIC in which NIC deployed a person from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM daily. 13. USE OF HINDI BEING OFFICIAL LANGUAGE National Council for Hotel Management is notified by Deptt. of Tourism w.e.f. 23.11.1995 under Sub Rule 4 of Rule 10 of the Official Languages Rules, 1976. Relating to the use of Hindi being official language in the official work of NCHM, the details of use of Hindi during the year 2014-15 is as under: i) Noting, drafting and letter writings have been done frequently in Hindi by the staff and officers of NCHM; ii) Office Orders have been issued bilingually. Bilingually printed letter-heads, rubber stamps and file covers are used for official work; iii) Entries in registers and service books have been made in Hindi language; iv) Most of the letters sent to 'A' and 'B' regions were sent in Hindi and some of the letters to 'C' region sent in bilingual. However, reply to the letters received in Hindi language were positively given in Hindi only; v) Annual Report of the National Council was got printed bilingually; vi) JEE-2014 Information Brochure was printed bilingually by the Council; vii) All advertisements published during the year under review, were published both in Hindi and English newspapers; viii) Hindi newspapers and Hindi magazines were purchased/procured by the Council during the year under review; ix) During 2014-15, Hindi Week was organized from 12th to 18th September 2014 by conducting various Hindi competitions. Participants were awarded by cash prizes; x) Quarterly meetings of official language implementation committee of NCHMCT were held on 23.06.2014; 05.09.2014; 10.12.2014 and 31.03.2015. xi) Under 'Hindi Protsahan Scheme', cash award of first, second and third positions were given to 12 employees of NCHMCT, who have done satisfactory work in Hindi language during the assessment year 2013-14. xii) Hindi workshop on behalf of Ministry of Tourism was held on 27.02.2015 at NCHMCT HQ on the subject of filling up of Parliamentary Official Language Inspection Questionnaire wherein officials from NCHMCT and various IHMs participated. xiii) Written tests for filling up of posts on direct recruitment basis in NCHMCT as well as in IHMs were held by making question paper bilingual. xiv) Question paper for JEE-2014 written test, for admission to 3-Year B.Sc. HHA Degree Program, was set in bilingual except for the component of English Language. 14. SWATCH BHARAT CAMPAIGN NCHMCT organized Swatch Bharat Campaign in its campus and adjoining areas at Noida and Swatch Bharat Day was observed on 2nd October 2014 involving all staff members. Under this campaign, the campus and adjoining areas were maintained clean and green by removing all wasteful items and garbage.

On daily basis, the office building and campus is cleaned and dust/garbage was disposed-off. Sufficient manpower is also engaged for the purpose. Fortnight reports on cleanliness campaign followed in the Council were also sent to Ministry of Tourism. 15. Management’s Responsibility for the Financial Statements The Council’s Management is responsible for the preparation of these financial statements that give a true and fair view of the financial position, financial performance and cash flows of the Company in accordance with the Accounting Standards issued by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. This responsibility includes the design, implementation and maintenance of internal control relevant to the preparation and presentation of the financial statements that give a true and fair view and are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error. Auditors’ Responsibility Our responsibility is to express an opinion on these financial statements based on our audit. We conducted our audit in accordance with the Standards on Auditing issued by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Those Standards require that we comply with the ethical requirements and plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements are free from material misstatement. An audit involves performing procedures to obtain audit evidence about the amounts and the disclosures in the financial statements. The procedures selected depend on the auditor’s judgment, including the assessment of the risks of material misstatement of the financial statements, whether due to fraud or error. In making those risk assessments, the auditor considers the internal control relevant to the Council’s preparation and fair presentation of the financial statements in order to design audit procedures that are appropriate in the circumstances. An audit also includes evaluating the appropriateness of accounting policies used and the reasonableness of the accounting estimates made by the Management, as well as evaluating the overall presentation of the financial statements. We believe that the audit evidence we have obtained is sufficient and appropriate to provide a basis for our audit opinion. Basis for Qualified Opinion 1) No provision has been made for any additional Income tax liability, if any that may arise at the time of assessment for AY 2012-13 to 2015-16 amount unascertainable. 2) No Provision has been made for Contingent Liability of Rs 50.17 Lakhs Plus Interest that may arise to M/S Diwan Chand Civil Contractors of the NCHMCT Building at Noida as referred in Para B(1)(i) of Schedule 24 3) No provision has been made for TDS Defaults/Demands of Rs 156170/- outstanding till date. 4) Balances of parties accounts included in Current Liabilities and Loans & Advances are subject to confirmation, reconciliation and consequent adjustments, if any

5) Although Accrual accounting system has been followed but some Expenses and Income Of prior period incurred during the year have been shown separately in the accounts as referred in Note No B(1)(iii) of Schedule 24. Opinion In our opinion and to the best of our information and according to the explanations given to us, except for the effects of the matter described in the Basis for Qualified Opinion paragraph, the financial statements give the information required by the Act in the manner so required and give a true and fair view in conformity with the accounting principles generally accepted in India: (a) in the case of the Balance Sheet, of the state of affairs of the Council as at 31st March, 2015. (b) in the case of Income & Expenditure Account, of the Excess of Income over Expenditure for the year ended on that date. National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology Schedule forming part of the Accounts for the year Ended 31.3.2015 Schedule 24 Significant Accounting Policies: A. Change of Accounting Policies and Material Effect Accounts have been prepared in uniform format of accounts, which is applicable to Central Autonomous Bodies (Non-Profit Organization). Since the new format does not provide place for GPF account as well as Pension Fund Account, therefore, the same have been separated from the financial statements and have been annexed thereto. 1. Accounting Conventions: The accounts are prepared under the historical cost convention on accrual basis in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles in India and the Accounting standards issued by ICAI. The inventory of stationery and waste paper etc. is however not accounted for. 2. Prior Period and Extra Ordinary Items: All significant identifiable items of income and expenses pertaining to prior period, if any, are accounted in Prior Period Adjustment account in the Income and Expenditure Account. 3. Depreciation: Depreciation is charged on written down value at rates prescribed in the schedule of Fixed Assets. Depreciation on assets purchased/ put to use during the year is provided in full, if asset has been purchased on or before 30th September, otherwise it is provided at half the normal rates. Similarly in case of assets sold/ discarded on or before 30th September, depreciation is provided at half the normal rates and in case of sale etc. in cases of after 30th September full depreciation at normal rates is provided. The profit/ Loss on sale of assets is being credited/ debited to Profit & Loss Account. 4. Revenue Recognition: The accounts are prepared under the historical cost convention and on accrual basis. All Income, expenses, assets and liabilities are accounted for on accrual basis. Adopting the true system of accrual accounting, the accounting in respect of JEE/ Diploma examination, receipts and expenditure has been made on the basis of year of examination actually held. I JEE Receipts up to the last day of accounting year pertaining to the examination to be held in next year have been considered as advance and shown in the Balance Sheet as liability under the head Pre Receipt Income (JEE-2015). ii.) All the expenses incurred in connection with and pertaining to the examination to be held in next year have been considered as pre paid expenditure and shown in the Balance sheet under the head Pre Paid Expenditure (JEE-2015). iii.) Expenditure incurred in connection with examinations which are pertaining to the examination held during the year has been shown in the Income & Expenditure Account under the head JEE Expenditure 2014 and Diploma/Degree Expenditure 2014-15. iv) Affiliation scrutiny fees have been recognized as income in the year of accrual.

5. Fixed Assets Accounting: Fixed Assets are stated at written down value after reducing the depreciation provided on it up to the year 2014-15. Fixed Assets have been physically and shown in the books of Accounts. 6. Government Grants/ Subsidies: Grants/ Claims/ Subsidies, if any, are accounted for on realization basis on actual receipt thereof. Grants in respect of specific assets acquired are also shown under Earmarked/ Endowment Fund and the Assets acquired out of the same are shown under the schedule of fixed assets. 7. Borrowing Cost: The borrowing cost directly attributable to the qualifying asset, if any, is being capitalized as part of the cost of that asset in accordance with AS 16 issued by 1CAI. However, no borrowing cost has been incurred and capitalized during the year. 8. Investments: Council has not made any investment other than the amount deposited in fixed/ term deposit with nationalized banks. Investments in the books of Accounts have been shown at cost. 9. Foreign Currency Transactions: An agreement has been signed with Lausanne Hospitality Consulting, S.A.Lausanne , Switzerland on dated 11th February 2014 for conducting gap analysis, QLF Program & Annual academic audit for total consideration of CHF 4,92,000 over a period of 3 years. An amount of CHF 196,000 has been paid till year end as annual fees for 1ST Year. The same has been shown in INR in Faculty Development Program account. 10. Recovery of Interest: Interest on staff advances and loans is recovered after the recovery of the entire principle amount as per Government instructions and the income on such loans accounts is recognized in the year of actual recovery thereof. B. Contingent Liabilities and Notes on Accounts; I. Balance sheet & Income & Expenditure items:

i) No Provision has been made for Contingent Liability of ` 50.17 Lakhs Plus Interest that may arise to M/S Diwan Chand Civil Contractors of the NCHMCT Building at Noida pursuant to Arbitration Award given in favour of the Contractor and against ITDC since the Award is being disputed by ITDC in Hon’ble Delhi High Court.

ii) No provision has been made for any additional Income tax liability, if any that may arise at the time of assessment for AY 2012-13 to 2014-15 amount unascertainable. NCHMCT has received permanent exemption certificate from Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Exemption), Delhi u/s 10(23C) (vi) of Income Tax Act, 1961 w.e.f. AY 2015-16 and onwards

iii) Prior period adjustment of ` 7,38,956/- (Prev. yr - ` 8,82,048/-) on account of income for previous year has been made during the current year and charged to Income and Expenditure Account. The details is as under:

2. General Provident Fund : National Council for Hotel Management employees are covered under GPF –cum-Pension Scheme introduced with the direction of Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. All rules and regulations and service conditions are also applicable to the employees at par with the employees of Govt. of India. As per Govt. instructions interest @ 8.7% w.e.f April 2014 to March 2015 has been paid on GPF accounts of the employees. All funds related to GPF has been invested in Fixed Deposits, with scheduled banks. 3. Scholarship Endowment Fund: A sum of ` 20,07,610/- (Prev Yr Rs. 2007610/-) (Sch. 11) has been spent by the Council upto 2014-15 for awards of Scholarships which is receivable from Scholarship Endowment Fund. No donation on account of Scholarship Endowment Fund has been received during the year. Separate financial statements for the fund have been prepared and are enclosed. 4. Land & Building : The NOIDA authority has allotted land measuring 60000 sq. meters in the name of Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India in Sector -62, NOIDA. The Ministry of Tourism has authorized NCHMCT to use 5 acres for establishment of NCHMCT Headquarter at A-34, Sector 62 NOIDA. 5. Current Assets, Loans and Advances: Balances of parties accounts included in Current Liabilities and Loans and Advances are subject to confirmation, reconciliation and consequent adjustments, if any

6. Interest on Fixed Deposit : Interest on Fixed deposits amounting to ` 1,22,61,000 (Sch. 17) (Previous year ` 1,50,97,333) for the year ended 31.3.2015 has been received during the year 2014-15. Total accrued interest as on 31.3.2015 amounting to ` 1,50,93,963/- (Sch 11) (Previous year ` 1,47,66,718) 7. Retirement Benefits : Past liability for pension, gratuity and leave encashment has been ascertained through M/s Charan Gupta Actuarial and the actual liability in respect thereto, has also been calculated and provided for ` 10,29,45,058 /- up to 31.3.2015 (Previous year ` 9,34,54,465) as per the actuarial valuation certificate. 9. Taxation NCHMCT is a Society registered under Societies Registration Act 1860 and established by Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. It is an Educational Council/ Institution registered exempt from Income Tax under various provisions of the Income Tax Act. In view of there being no taxable income under the Income Tax Act 1961, no provision for income tax has been considered necessary. NCHMCT has received permanent exemption certificate from Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Exemption), Delhi u/s 10(23C) (vi) of Income Tax Act, 1961 w.e.f. AY 2014-15 and onwards 10. Rounding off of Figures : Figures have been rounded off in nearest rupees. Corresponding figures of the previous year have been regrouped/ rearranged, wherever necessary.

Scheduled 1 to 24 are annexed to and form an integral part of the Balance Sheet as at 31.3.2015 and the Income and Expenditure Account for the year ended on that date.
