Antigen Description Prostate stem cell antigen is a that in humans is encoded by the PSCA . This gene encodes a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored cell membrane glycoprotein. In addition to being highly expressed in the prostate it is also expressed in the bladder, placenta, colon, kidney, and stomach. This gene is up-regulated in a large proportion of prostate cancers and is also detected in cancers of the bladder and pancreas. This gene has a nonsynonymous nucleotide polymorphism at its start codon.

Specificity This antibody reacts with a ~14 kD protein. Prostate Stem Cell Antigen (PSCA) is a cell surface antigen which is overexpressed in ~ 40% of primary prostate cancers and in nearly 100% of metastatic cancers. PSCA is also overexpressed in the majority of tra
