Directions to Heads Nook Hall and Advanced Evening Meal Bookings Directions to Heads Nook Hall and advanced evening meal bookings We are located 6 miles (approximately 10 minutes) east from Junction 43 of the M6. **Be aware that there are now static traffic safety cameras installed on the A69 at Warwick Bridge.** From the North, South or West: take the A69 from J43 on the M6, in the direction of Hexham / Newcastle, and after 5 -6 miles turn right at the 1st set of traffic lights at Corby Hill / Warwick Bridge. Proceed through the village of Heads Nook. As you leave the village you will see end of speed limit signs, Heads Nook Hall is to the left, the large house behind trees. From the East: turn left at the Corby Hill / Warwick Bridge traffic lights. These are the first set of traffic lights on the A69 about 3 miles having passed Brampton. Proceed through the village of Heads Nook, as you leave the village you will see the end of speed limit signs, Heads Nook Hall is to the left the large house behind the trees. For Sat Nav Users our Postal code is CA8 9AA – unfortunately, this is slightly out of position on some mapping systems. See the map below. You need to continue out of the village. When you see the end of the speed limits signs, if you look to the left you will see a clump of trees. Heads Nook Hall is behind the trees. The Entrance from the main road is shown below. Entrance sign from main road Turn up the tree lined drive....Keep left as the drive forks at the top of the drive. You will then see a second arrowed sign to Heads Nook Hall. Visitor parking is available on the circular gravel area at the front of the house (next to the red post box).We will assist you with any luggage you have up to your room Evening Meals arrange before you arrive. It is in a strategic location on the main A69 Carlisle to Newcastle trunk road; 5 miles east north east from Carlisle and 4.5 miles south west of Brampton. This main road provides easy access to the local market town of Brampton. Warwick Bridge serves a number of rural hamlets and is well served by local bus services operating between Brampton and Carlisle, and cross-country services between Carlisle and Newcastle. The village is made up of the three merged settlements of Corby Hill, Little Corby and Warwick Bridge. The village grew historically due to the mill that is located just outside the village. This served as the main source of employment for the population of the village. General description of settlement Little Corby, Warwick Bridge and Corby Hill each developed individually before expansions in various directions led them to merge, to appear now as one settlement. The village has grown in a linear form along the busy A69 route with further later residential growth expanding Little Corby and Corby Hill. There is a busy crossroads controlled by traffic lights towards the end of the village in the East. There is a small area of village green adjacent to the crossroads.

Developments at Carlisle Airport could provide opportunities for travel throughout the UK and abroad and could produce demands for surface transport links to the Airport 13. In general air quality in Carlisle is good. However, nitrous oxide levels on Stanwix Bank on the A7 to the north of the City are increasing. 14. There is an opportunity afforded by the proposal to transfer trunk road status from the A69 to the A689 between Brampton and the M6 to remove through traffic from the communities of Corby Hill and Warwick Bridge. 15. Many of the rural roads are not constructed to modern standards and have little if any foundation. Consequently the increasingly large agricultural and forestry vehicles are causing structural damage resulting in a high intervention requirement for maintenance. 16. Carlisle Northern Development Route (CNDR) is expected to open in 2008. This will provide an opportunity to reduce traffic congestion in the city centre and "lock in" those benefits by giving greater priority to access by bus, walking and cycling. 17. There are traffic congestion problems associated with traffic from the south of Carlisle needing to pass through the city centre to reach the roads to the West of the City. 18. There are unacceptably long and unpredictable journey times due to traffic congestion on the radial routes in and out of the city at peak times. 19. Travel to work and school by car are the major causes of traffic congestion in Carlisle. 20. The cycle route network in Carlisle is discontinuousinterrupted and not universally to a high modern standard.
