Occurrence: Records of species presence and possible distributions were obtained either by inventory efforts of Refuge personnel, Oklahoma Biological Survey records, American Society of Mammalogists records, and/or “Bats of the United States” by Michael J. Harvey, J. Scott Altenbach, and Troy L. Best.
Common - Species are often seen and are abundant in numbers on the Refuge.
Uncommon - Species are not often seen but may be present in fair numbers on the Refuge. Species may also be difficult to find due to behavior or size.
Possible - Species have been recorded within Alfalfa County, but have not been found on the Refuge during inventory efforts.
Historic - Species were once found at Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge and/or the surrounding county, Alfalfa, but are no longer present.
