Top 10 Acts to See at the Green River Music Festival
Top 10 Acts To See At The Green River Music Festival Celebrating 30 years of music, art and fun, The Green River Music Festival will take place this weekend from July 8 – 10 at Greenfield Community College in Greenfield, Massachusetts. It’s a stacked bill featuring a few rock ‘n’ roll legends, folk and soul upstarts and even a handful of local acts. There will be music happening on three stages and everywhere you look there will be something incredible taking place. There are also going to be after parties going on in the heart of the town. For you to know who to check out and when, here are my Top 10 Acts to see this weekend: 10 ) Winterpills (Sunday 1:10pm @ Four Rivers Stage) One of the locals on the list, Northampton, Massachusetts, folk rock act Winterpills have incredible harmonies that stick with you and never let go. When Philip Price and Flora Reed combine their voices beautifully, stunning things happen. The band possesses soothing acoustic-based rock music that has as much power and emphasis as an act that’s fully electrified. I’m excited to see how Winterpills are live, and I know a bunch of others are as well. Check them out to start the last day of the festival off right. 9.) Shakey Graves (Saturday 7:35pm @ Green River Stage) Shakey Graves is the moniker of Alejandro Rose-Garcia from Austin, Texas. He brings an authentic brand of rock ‘n’ roll to the forefront by melding folk and blues to create awesome Americana. Rose- Garcia has a one-man band set-up and he has an uncanny ability to captivate an audience in an instant. -

From the Lockn' Times: Feelin' Alright
https://www.relix.com/articles/detail/from_the_lockn8217_times_feelin_alright September 12, 2015 From the Lockn’ Times: Feelin’ Alright photo by John Patrick Gatta What a difference a day makes. The grey skies of Thursday gave way to the clear blue of Friday. And with the cleanup chaos in the rear view mirror, Lockn' finally kicked into gear. Due to Friday's date, 9/11, the festival opened with a moment of remembrance as John Popper welcomed more than two dozen first responders to the stage to honor them for their efforts before playing the national anthem. A large American flag was then displayed via a fire truck’s selwing ladder next to the Ridge Stage. Music on the Oak and Ridge stages ended with Mad Dogs & Englishmen Celebrate Joe Cocker (late night sets by Umphrey’s McGee and Mickey Hart with Steve Kimock and EOTO followed). Although Cocker was from England, his singing style was influenced by Ray Charles, so the Mad Dogs material dug deep into blues, roots, soul and gospel traditions. The 100-minute performance featured Tedeschi Trucks Band with alumni from that 1970 tour including Leon Russell, Chris Stainton, Rita Coolidge, Claudia Lennear, Pamela Polland, Matthew Moore, Daniel Moore and Bobby Jones, Chuck Blackwell and Bobby Torres. The performance opened in fine fashion with Susan Tedeschi digging in for an electrifying version of “The Letter.” The entire set to follow was a highlight reel but notable moments included performances by the original players: “Cry Me A River” with Lennear on vocals, Coolidge’s turn on “Superstar,” Leon Russell’s take on Bob Dylan’s “Girl from the North Country” as well as his solo encore version of "The Ballad Of Mad Dogs And Englishmen." Guests included John Bell who sang lead on “Delta Lady,” an unexpected appearance by Warren Haynes for “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window” and contributions by Chris Robinson, Anders Osborne and Doyle Bramhall II. -

Tedeschi Trucks Band brings their wildly praised Wheels of Soul tour back on the road this summer, adding Los Lobos and North Mississippi Allstars to their list of “rock ‘n soul” collaborators. Rochester’s highly regarded Highland Bowl will host the first stop on the tour. Tedeschi Trucks Band, led by the husband-and-wife team of singer-guitarist Susan Tedeschi and guitar virtuoso Derek Trucks, are fresh off of their January 2016 release of Let Me Get By, their debut album for Fantasy Records. The Associated Press stated “Tedeschi Trucks Band has already released one of the great records of the year,” and following the band’s recent filming of Austin City Limits The Austin Chronicle added “There’s no contemporary match for the Tedeschi Trucks Band in that their third LP manages the nearly impossible combination of growth and improvement where none seems possible or necessary.” Since their inception in 2010, TTB have seen both of their previous albums debut in the Top 15 of the Billboard 200, and won a Grammy for their debut album Revelator, an album hailed by Rolling Stone as a “masterpiece.” They tour over 200 days of the year and have built a dedicated following around the world, one powerful performance at a time. -

Livestreaming Pre-Recorded Concerts for Merchandise Sales and Artist Donations
Livestreaming pre-recorded concerts for merchandise sales and artist donations HOW TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND LEVERAGED PREVIOUSLY RECORDED FOOTAGE FROM THEIR 2019 BEACON THEATRE RESIDENCY TO CREATE A SUCCESSFUL NEW LIVESTREAM CONCERT SERIES. The Background Tedeschi Trucks Band is a Grammy-winning blues rock group founded by married couple Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks in 2010. The band has released four studio albums and two live albums, but is perhaps best known for their captivating live concerts. Among TTB’s repertoire, their annual fall residency at the Beacon Theatre in New York City stands supreme. Every October, thousands of fans pack the Beacon for sold-out show after sold-out show. 2020 looked to be no different ... and then COVID-19 came into the music industry like a wrecking ball, obliterating virtually every live show in its path. Unable to tour, and with their band and crew out of work, Tedeschi Trucks Band and their agent, Wayne Forte, began brainstorming creative ways to keep fans engaged while raising money for their crew. Their decision: To ticket a livestreamed recording of two nights from their 2019 Beacon residency while appealing for donations and selling merchandise to benefit the band and crew. The Problems As a well-oiled touring machine, Tedeschi Trucks Band knows how to promote their live shows. But marketing old shows felt like a completely different beast. Acting like the shows were new events was out of the question. TTB’s fans are diehards. Instead, Forte decided to make the livestream events about getting everyone back together to reminisce and enjoy a past live show while offering those same diehard fans the chance to see a concert they may have missed, either in favor of another night at the Beacon or because they had been unable to attend at all. -
