NDU VICE PRESIDENT Vice Admiral Fritz Roegge, USN

16th President

Vice Admiral Fritz Roegge is an honors graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and was commissioned through the Reserve Officers' Training Corps program. He earned a Master of Science in Engineering Management from the Catholic University of America and a Master of Arts with highest distinction in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval College. He was a fellow of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Seminar XXI program. His command tour was as commodore of Squadron 22 with additional duty as commanding officer, Naval Support Activity La Maddalena, Italy.

Ashore, he has served on the staffs of both the Atlantic and the Pacific Submarine Force commanders, on the staff of the director of Naval Nuclear Propulsion, on the Navy staff in the Assessments (N81) and the Military Personnel Plans and Policy Division (N13), in the Secretary of the Navy's Office of Legislative Affairs at the U. S, House of Representatives, as the head of the Submarine and Nuclear Power Distribution Division (PERS 42) at the Navy Personnel Command, and as an assistant deputy director on the Joint Staff in both the Strategy and Policy (J5) and the Regional Operations (J33) Directorates.

Roegge completed his first flag officer assignment as the deputy commander, Joint Functional Component Command for Global Strike at U.S. Strategic Command. He then served concurrently as commander, Submarine 8; commander , Allied Naval Forces South; deputy commander, U.S. 6th Fleet; and director of operations and intelligence (N3), U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa. As a Rear Admiral (Upper Half) he served as director, Military Personnel Plans and Policy Division (N13) with a concurrent period as director, Total Force Manpower Division (N12) on the Navy Staff and then as Commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet.

VADM Roegge assumed duties as the 16th President of the National Defense University on 25 Sep 2017. Ambassador Arnold Chacon Senior Vice President

Ambassador Chacon joined the National Defense University as its Senior Vice President in August 2018. He is a career member of the U.S. Foreign Service and holds the rank of Career Minister. Prior to NDU, Ambassador Chacon served as Diplomat in Residence at Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has held senior leadership positions in the U.S. Department of State, including Chief of Mission in Guatemala and Chief Human Capital Officer. He is widely recognized for his expertise in Latin American and European affairs, talent management, communication strategies and building a diverse workforce.

As Director General of the Foreign Service from 2014-2017, Ambassador Chacon developed strategic guidance for the Human Resources Bureau of 900 employees who carry out the full range of human resources activities for the State Department’s 75,000 worldwide workforce. As Ambassador to Guatemala from 2011- 2014, he implemented one of the largest economic development, counter-narcotics and rule of law programs in Latin America, directing 500 staff and representing a dozen U.S. Government agencies. Prior to his service in Guatemala, he was Acting Ambassador and Deputy Chief of Mission in Spain, engaging a key NATO and EU ally on regional issues including counter-terrorism, the global financial crisis, Afghanistan, Middle East, Africa and Latin America. His other diplomatic assignments include postings to U.S. Missions in Honduras, Mexico, Chile, Italy, Peru, Ecuador and the . He also served as the Deputy Executive Secretary of the State Department’s Executive Secretariat and in the Bureaus of Western Hemisphere Affairs and European Affairs.

A life member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Ambassador Chacon has received numerous leadership awards, including the Presidential Rank Award, Superior Honor Awards and Performance Pay. He is a Boettcher Foundation Scholar and studied International Affairs at the University of where he was in the Presidents Leaders Class. His wife Alida Chacon is retired from the Foreign Service and they have three children.

SENIOR FELLOWS MARK FERGUSON ADMIRAL NAVY (RETIRED)

Former Commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Europe and Commander, Joint Force Command

Mark Ferguson is employed as a Senior Fellow for the National Defense University in support of the Pinnacle, Capstone, and Keystone programs.

Admiral Ferguson culminated his 38 years of active-duty military service as Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa, serving concurrently as Commander, NATO Joint Force Command Naples, Italy. During a period of dynamic change, he renewed a focus on high-end war fighting in Europe. The forward deployment of four Aegis destroyers to Rota, Spain, the commissioning of the shore-based Aegis ballistic missile defense site in Romania, and the first Allied ballistic missile defense live-fire test in Europe were completed during his tenure. As the operational commander of 4,800 Allied troops deployed to Kosovo and the NATO mission in Bosnia- Herzegovina, he directed NATO operational missions in the Balkans while working closely with the European Union.

Admiral Ferguson’s US command encompassed the SIXTH Fleet, with operational responsibilities for the eastern Atlantic and the waters surrounding Europe and Africa. His focus on the security challenges in Africa required close cooperation with European, African, and South American partners to disrupt terrorist networks, deter illicit trafficking, and counter piracy and maritime crime. He was also responsible for five naval bases and US naval personnel stationed throughout Europe and Africa.

As Vice Chief of Naval Operations, he directed the actions of the Navy staff and served as a member of the Requirements Oversight Council and Deputy Advisory Working Group. During a period of fiscal challenge, he led development of Navy actions to meet the requirements of the Budget Control Act and address the potential impacts of sequestration. He led the organization, training and equipping of more than 680,000 active, reserve, and civilian personnel and provided oversight of the Navy’s $140 billion annual budget.

As , Admiral Ferguson was responsible for recruiting, retention, and the training of 320,000 naval personnel. He oversaw the force management policies and education programs for the US Navy with an annual budget over $30 billion.

Over his career as a nuclear-trained surface warfare officer, Admiral Ferguson operated in both the Atlantic and Pacific Fleets, serving on cruisers, destroyers, and aircraft carriers. He commanded an Aegis-class destroyer as well as a destroyer squadron. He also served as a special assistant to the Supreme Allied Commander Europe during Operation ALLIED FORCE, the NATO air campaign to end hostilities in Kosovo.

Admiral Ferguson holds a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School. He also graduated from the Air Command and Staff College. He completed a National Security Fellowship at the Harvard Kennedy School and Leadership at the Peak at the Center for Creative Leadership in Colorado Springs. Command Sergeant Major Patrick Z. Alston is employed as a Senior Fellow for the National Defense University’s Keystone program.

CSM Pat Alston is a native of Columbus, . He is a graduate of Columbus High School. After graduation, he subsequently enlisted into the United States Army where he completed Basic Training at Fort Dix, .

Chief Master Sergeant Ramon “CZ” Colon-Lopez is the Command Senior Enlisted Leader for Headquarters United States Africa Command (HQ U.S. AFRICOM).

BIOGRAPHY

WARRANT OFFICER JAKE ALPERT Command Senior Enlisted Leader WO Jake Alpert joined the in 1989. He completed his first tour with 15 Sqn RAF Regt at RAF Hullavington, completing both the Pre-Parachute Selection Course and Basic Parachute Course, and undertaking his first operational tour of Northern Ireland. He then move to II Sqn RAF Regt, serving with them for 11 years at RAF Hullavington, RAF Catterick and RAF Honington, and completing further operational tours of Northern Ireland, Cyprus, Kuwait, Bosnia, Kosovo and Sierra Leone.

In 2001 Alpert was posted to the RAF Force Protection (FP) Centre at RAF Honington, joining 27 Sqn RAF Regt at the Joint NBC Regt on promotion to Sgt. Following completion of the legendary All Arms Commando Course in 2004, Alpert was awarded the Commandants’ Certificate and assigned to 45 Commando Royal as Troop Sergeant and Company Platoon Weapons Instructor on a Close Combat Company. He completed a number of operational tours with the in , Norway and Afghanistan.

On completion of his exchange tour with the Royal Marines, Alpert returned to 2 RAF FP Wing HQ at RAF Leeming, deploying immediately to Iraq on Op TELIC 10 alongside 34 Sqn RAF Regt. In Sep 2008, on promotion to , he re-joined II Sqn RAF Regt, deploying to Afghanistan on Op HERRICK 10 as and Intelligence Surveillance Recognition Manager for Commander Kandahar.

Promoted to (WO) in 2010, Alpert served at RAF Shawbury as the Station Warrant Officer and Officer Commanding FP Training Flight. In 2011 he returned once more to II Sqn RAF Regt and Op HERRICK 15 as the FP WO and Camp Bastion Garrison Sergeant Major (GSM). 2013 saw another return to Afghanistan on Op HERRICK 18 as the Kandahar Air Field GSM. On his return, Alpert was assigned to the RAF Regiment Training Wing at RAF Honington as Officer Commanding Training Assurance Cell.

In Mar 2015, WO Alpert was selected for the RAF’s Project , a development and mentoring scheme for high calibre enlisted personnel. He joins AIRCOM from serving as the Station Warrant Officer at RAF Halton, where he received a Meritorious Service Medal and completed both the Intermediate Command Staff Course (Air) and the US KEYSTONE Staff Course.

WO Alpert has two daughters, Paislee 19 and Mia 14, from a previous marriage. He is married to Jessica, and they have a young son called Jax. They partake in as many social events as work allows. A keen sportsman, WO Alpert enjoys cooking, going to the gymnasium, running and the occasional military physical challenge.

KEYSTONE STAFF Gerard “Gerry“ M. Mauer, Jr. Director Capstone, Keystone, Pinnacle

Rear Admiral Mauer retired from the Navy in March 2008 after over 31 years of service, which included extensive experience in fleet operations, resource management, technical innovation, Joint Professional Military Education (JPME), interagency coordination, and leading organizational change in NATO and joint commands.

From 2008 to 2011, RADM Mauer was a Group Vice President for Sabre Systems Inc. He was responsible for developing then implementing the corporate strategic plan and managing the Southeast Region’s profit and loss operations, its contracts, corporate business development, human resources programs, and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) level III attainment. After leaving Sabre Systems, RADM Mauer had positions as an Associate with Burdeshaw Associates, as a Senior Analyst for Wikistrat, as a Board member and Board Tresurer for the Navy Safe Harbor Foundation, and as a representative and the national Co-Chair for the US Global Leadership Coalition’s Veterans for Smart Power.

Admiral Mauer’s last position in the Navy was from 2006 to 2008, when he served as the Commandant, Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF). He was responsible for executing the congressionally mandated and accredited master’s degree senior Professional Military Education curriculum. As a university leader, he directly supported the direction of the National Defense University and was a key member in the development of the University’s strategic plan.

From 2003 to 2006, he served as the NATO Allied Command Transformation’s Director, Joint Experimentation, Exercises, and Assessment, where he developed and implemented NATO’s largest Concept Development and Experimentation program. The scope included creating NATO’s transformation strategic vision and aligning the vision with its concepts and requirements. As a result of his initiatives, NATO rapidly implemented new processes, policies, and systems in support of its forces in Afghanistan and Iraq as well new capabilities to support its political and military infrastructure in NATO headquarters.

From 2001 to 2003, he was the Deputy, Directorate for Information Operations (J39/DDIO), Joint Staff Director of Operations (J-3) where he was responsible for direct coordination with the Office of the Secretary of Defense staff, Combatant Commands, and interagency organizations in their global information operations. In this capacity, his responsibilities also included supervision and operational coordination of the Joint Staff’s Special Technical Operations information system and its programs.

Admiral Mauer graduated from Villanova University and the Naval Postgraduate School. He was a Naval Aviator who commanded Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadrons SEVEN (HS-7) and TEN (HS-10) in addition to assignment as the Commanding Officer of USS NASSAU (LHA 4). He has vast experience at sea with deployments to the Atlantic Ocean, , and Arabian Gulf. Ashore assignments included: Naval Postgraduate School student, Assistant Program Manager for the Naval Air Systems Command SH-60F/H helicopter program (PMA 266), and Training Officer and Instructor Pilot in Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron ONE (HS-1). He started with Capstone in August of 2016.

1 Michael Patykula Keystone / Pinnacle Program Manager

Michael Patykula is the Program Manager for the KEYSTONE and PINNACLE courses at the National Defense University, and he provides daily support to the CAPSTONE Program.

Prior to joining the National Defense University, Mr. Patykula served as the Project Coordinator for the Army Office of Small Business Programs where he provided support to companies seeking contracts with the United States Army. From 2009-2014, Mr. Patykula was an Operations Coordinator for the William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies. In this role, he provided administrative and logistical support for academic programs designed for senior government officials from the Americas.

Mr. Patykula holds a Master of Arts in Strategic Security Studies from the National Defense University, and a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from West Virginia University.

CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT SHAWN M. AIELLO

Chief Master Sergeant Shawn M. Aiello serves as Command Chief, 492d Special Operations Wing, Hurlburt Field, Florida. He is the principal advisor to the Commander on all matters of morale, welfare, readiness, professional development and operational utilization of the enlisted force. Additionally, he oversees the training and education of Air Force special operations forces as well as Air Force Special Operations Command’s Irregular Warfare program, innovation development and operational testing in support of United States Special Operations Command strategic objectives. The Wing’s mission includes aviation foreign internal defense in support of Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine and allied special operations forces. His units are responsible for mission qualification training in SOF aviation platforms to include AC-130U, AC-130W, U-28, MQ-1, MQ-9, C-145, and C-146, as well as small unmanned aerial systems (SUAS).

Chief Aiello entered the Air Force in 1992. After completing basic training he qualified as a Munitions Systems Specialist and received orders to Sembach , Germany. He served in munitions assignments around the globe until 2002, when he cross-trained into intelligence. As intelligence professional, Chief Aiello has served in Republic of Korea, US Air Forces Europe, Joint Special Operations Command and Air Force Special Operations Command. Additionally, he has served in deployed joint Senior Enlisted Advisor roles in Joint Task Forces. Prior to being assigned to the 492d Special Operations Wing, he served as the Group Superintendent of the Aviation Tactics Evaluation Group and USAF Senior Enlisted Advisor to Joint Special Operations Command.

Command Sergeant Major Lawrence C. Arnold was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. In 1984 he joined the United States Army and attended One Station Unit Training at Fort McClellan, .

CSM Arnold has served in various assignments including the Military District of Washington Military Police Company, , Virginia; HQ LEC, 716th Military Police Battalion, Fort Riley, Kansas; 249th Military Police Company, Camp Humphreys, South Korea; HHC, 194th Military Police Company, , Kentucky; Command Sergeant Major (CSM) of the 304th Military Police Battalion, 290th Military Police Brigade; CSM of 724th Military Police Battalion, 290th Military Police Brigade; CSM of 1st Brigade, 78th Training Division; CSM of the 78th Training Division; and currently as the Command Sergeant Major of the 84th Training Command. CSM Arnold has served in every leadership position from team leader to command sergeant major, and twice as a company first sergeant. Chief Master Sergeant Jamie M. Augér is Command Chief Master Sergeant, , , Florida. In this capacity, he serves as principal advisor to the wing commander and senior staff on matters of military readiness, morale, quality of life, professional development and effective utilization of personnel affecting an organization of more than 19,000 military, civilian, and contractor personnel.

The 96th Test Wing provides developmental testing and evaluation of conventional munitions, command and control systems, and aircraft avionics and guidance systems. Additionally, the wing provides all base operating support, infrastructure, and services support for the Air Force’s largest installation (724 square miles) comprised of eight tenant wing or wing-equivalent units, to include the (F-35 Lightning II Integrated Training Center), the Army's 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal, and 37 other associate units including the Army's 6th Ranger Training Battalion and the Air Force's 20th Space Control Squadron.

Chief Augér entered the Air Force in January 1995. He graduated from the Law Enforcement Apprentice Course at , Texas, in April 1995. He has an extensive background in law enforcement and security operations. Chief Master Sergeant Karen F. Beirne-Flint is the 16th Command Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) headquartered at Quantico Marine Ground Installation, Virginia. AFOSI is a federal law enforcement agency with responsibility for conducting criminal investigations, counterintelligence and specialized investigative activities, protective service operations and integrated force protection for the Air Force. AFOSI is also a combat-ready military criminal investigative organization that provides the Air Force a wartime capability with counterintelligence support to force protection to find, fix, track and neutralize enemy threats in hostile and uncertain environments. She serves as the senior advisor to the commander on matters concerning force utilization, readiness, training, career progression and quality of life for over 2,000 enlisted, officer and civilian Airmen assigned to major Air Force installations and a variety of operating locations worldwide.

CMSgt Beirne-Flint was born and raised in Bloomingdale, New Jersey. She graduated from Butler High School in 1988 and entered the Air Force in February 1993. She completed technical training as an information management specialist at , in May 1993. Her background includes various duties in information management and information technology at the unit level. She also had an opportunity to educate the Air Force’s newest supervisors as an Airman Leadership School instructor. Her assignments include bases in North Dakota, , Maryland, Texas and Colorado. She also served overseas in and Qatar.

CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT AMANDA G. BERTRAND

Chief Master Sergeant Amanda G. Bertrand is the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Director of the Defense Personnel and Family Support Center (DPFSC) under the Defense Human Resource Activity (DHRA), which is a Department of Defense (DoD) Field Activity of the Under Secretary of Defense (Personnel and Readiness) located in Alexandria, VA. In this role, she provides advice and guidance on Active and Reserve Component issues to the Director and senior staff to promote and enable the missions of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program, the Transition to Veteran Program Office, the Federal Voting Assistance Program, and the Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program.

Chief Master Sergeant Bertrand entered active duty in August, 1990. She performed duties as a Security Specialist for six years; both on the flight line and in the missile field. She retrained into the Paralegal career field in October, 1996 and has performed a wide variety of legal duties at eleven different assignments throughout her career in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps.

CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT HEIDI A. BUNKER

Chief Master Sergeant Heidi A. Bunker is the seventh Command Chief Master Sergeant for the Ohio , 178th Wing, Springfield Air National Guard Base, Ohio. Chief Bunker advises the Wing Commander and his staff on all matters influencing the mission readiness, professional development, proper utilization, health, morale and welfare of the Wing’s enlisted Airmen and their families. Additionally, she disseminates the commander’s policies to all levels of the enlisted core.

Chief Bunker entered military service in October 1991 and was assigned to the 179th Aerial Port Squadron, Air National Guard Base in Mansfield, Ohio as an Air Transportation Specialist. In 2007, Chief Bunker was selected to become a First Sergeant and was assigned to the 179th Aerial Port Squadron and shortly thereafter she completed the USAF First Sergeant’s Academy in residence. She was then assigned as a First Sergeant to the 179th Logistics Readiness Squadron where she performed an integral role as the primary advisor on enlisted matters within the squadron. In 2011, she was selected as the 179th Air Wing & 164th Operations Group First Sergeant where in addition to advising key leadership on enlisted matters, she was the president of the First Sergeant Council. She served in this position until her appointment to the Human Resources Advisor for the where she was tasked with ensuring a culture of inclusion and diversity. She also served as a Four Lenses facilitator, served on the Integrated Delivery System and served on the Joint Inclusion Diversity Executive Council at the Joint Force Headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. Chief Bunker served in this position until her appointment to the Group Superintendent position where she provided leadership and management in organizing, equipping and training enlisted personnel.

CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT LEON O. CALLOWAY

Chief Master Sergeant Leon Calloway is the Command Chief Master Sergeant for the , , Illinois. He is the wing’s senior enlisted leader and principal advisor to the commander on matters affecting the health, morale, welfare, readiness, professional development, and effective utilization of more than 2,000 enlisted Airmen. The wing performs annual operation support airlift, of more than 1,400 Department of Defense patients, and the airlift of more than 2,200 key congressional and military leaders with a fleet of 18 C-21 aircraft at Scott, Andrews, and Peterson Air Force Bases. Assisting the wing in accomplishing this mission is its Associate Partner, the Reserve’s 932d Airlift Wing with the C-40 aircraft. Additionally, the 375th Air Mobility wing and the Illinois National Guard’s are Associate Partners in performing the global mission of refueling with the KC-135 aircraft.

Chief Calloway enlisted in the Air Force in September 1996. In January 1997, he graduated from the Electrical Systems Specialist Course at , Texas. He has served in various Civil Engineer leadership positions, as well as Additional Duty First Sergeant, Squadron Training Manager and Civil Engineer Deployment Manager. Command Master Chief Greg S. Carlson, a native of Grand Haven, Michigan, enlisted in the Navy in August 1993. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he reported to Operations Specialist “A” School, in Dam Neck, Virginia.

Carlson’s early assignments include tours aboard USS NIMITZ (CVN 68), NAVAL MOBILE CONSTRUCTION BATTALION TWENTY FOUR/TWENTY SIX, USS COLE (DDG 67), and USS LEYTE GULF (CG 65). He also served as the course LCPO for Anti-Submarine Tactical Air Controller, Anti-Submarine Warfare Evaluator at the Center for Surface Combat Systems, and as the Operations Department LCPO aboard USS MAHAN (DDG 72) and USS ENTERPRISE (CVN-65). In March 2011, he was selected for the Command Master Chief program.

Sergeant Major Douglas F. Cutsail III enlisted in the Marine Corps on 19 Oct. 1992 in , Maryland and completed recruit training at MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina, 15 January 1993. Sergeant Major Cutsail has served in a variety of units and billets throughout his career.

Upon graduation from boot camp he reported to Marine Combat Training and then to Infantry Training Battalion, Camp Geiger, North Carolina, where he attained the MOS 0311 Infantry Rifleman. In May of 1993 he reported to Marine Corps Security Forces School in Chesapeake, Va. where upon graduating was assigned to Marine Corps Security Forces Battalion, Roosevelt Roads Puerto Rico. In December of 1994 Cutsail reported to 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines where he was promoted to Corporal on May 1st 1995. Corporal Cutsail attended Infantry Squad Leaders Course in 1995, was assigned a Fire Team Leader and deployed with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit. During this deployment, Corporal Cutsail participated in operations Assured Response and Quick Response in Monrovia, Liberia and Bangui, Africa. Upon returning from deployment, Corporal Cutsail attended the Leadership Course and earned the title of Company G, 2/2 and the 2nd Marine Regiment Noncommissioned Officer of the Quarter for the 4th Quarter of FY 1996 and the 1st Quarter of FY 1997. Corporal Cutsail was later promoted to Sergeant Meritoriously on 2 May 1997. Following his promotion, Sergeant Cutsail made a lateral move into the Communications Maintenance Field and reported to Twenty-nine Palms, Ca for school. In March 1998, Sergeant Cutsail reported in to Communications Company, H&S Battalion, 2nd Force Service Support Group where he held the billet of Shipping and Receiving Chief for the Maintenance Section. In December of 1998, Sergeant Cutsail attended Sergeants Course, where he earned the class Leadership and Motivation Award.

Sergeant Cutsail was promoted to Staff Sergeant in April 2000 and was assigned the billet of Company Gunnery Sergeant. Staff Sergeant Cutsail graduated the SNCO Career Course in June 2000 as the Class honor graduate and earned the class Leadership and Motivation Award. In 2001, Staff Sergeant Cutsail was selected for recruiting duty, where he was assigned to RSS Fairfield, Ohio as a canvassing recruiter, followed by SNCOIC. In April of 2003, Staff Sergeant Cutsail was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant and was appointed as the SNCOIC of RSS Evansville, Indiana. In March of 2005, Gunnery Sergeant Cutsail reported to Headquarters Battalion 2d Marine Division, where he was assigned as the Company Gunnery Sergeant for the 1,588 Marines of Headquarters Company. Gunnery Sergeant Cutail graduated from the SNCO Advanced Course in June 2005 where he was the recipient of the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps Leadership Writing Award. In June 2006, Gunnery Sergeant Cutsail was appointed to the rank of First Sergeant.

First Sergeant Cutsail reported to Combat Logistics Regiment 2 in June of 2006, where he was responsible for forming a Transportation Support Company from multiple units, Active Duty and Reserve to deploy with Combat Logistics Battalion 5 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 05.07-2. Upon returning to Camp Lejeune in April 2007, First Sergeant Cutsail was assigned to Headquarters Battery, 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment. In September 2007 First Sergeant Cutsail deployed to the Al Anbar Province with 1/10 as Task Force Military Police, for a period of seven months. First Sergeant Cutsail later transitioned assignments to Marine Combat Training Battalion, School of Infantry East as the Hotel Company First Sergeant; where he supervised the training of more than 2,500 entry level Marines in combat related skills. In February 2011, First Sergeant Cutsail was assigned as the Marine Combat Training Battalion Sergeant Major, where he continue to serve until May 2011 when he was assigned as the Recruiting Station Dallas Sergeant Major. In August of 2013, Sergeant Major Cutsail was further assigned as the Marine Corps Recruiters School Sergeant Major, where he supervised the execution of six programs of instruction, training of more than 3,500 career level Marines in Recruiting and Retention. In March of 2016, Sergeant Major Cutsail began his assignment as the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) SgtMaj and has since deployed as Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Force New York, JTF Matthew Humanitarian Assistance Disaster Relief in Haiti, a seven-month deployment with the 24th MEU and Bataan Amphibious Readiness Group in support of operations in both the 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility and Humanitarian Assistance to the people of Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria. Sergeant Major Cutsail is also an adjunct instructor for the SNCO Career Course Seminar and has facilitated three seminars to date, including the first-ever deployed MEU seminar.

CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT TAMAR S. DENNIS

Chief Tamar S. Dennis is the Command Chief Master Sergeant, , Buckley Air Force Base, Colorado. She is the principle advisor to the wing commander on all matters affecting the welfare, readiness, morale, training, professional development, and proper utilization of 1,500 wing personnel, and supports 95 tenant organizations comprised of 13,000 total force, joint service, and coalition military and family members. She provides enlisted leadership to the commander, as the wing delivers global infrared surveillance, tracking, and missile warning to protect homeland and expeditionary warfighters.

Chief Dennis was born and raised in Montego Bay, Jamaica. She immigrated to the United States in 1992 and entered the Air Force in July 1994. Her background includes various duties within the Security Forces Career field. She served as a Career Assistance Advisor and held numerous leadership roles in garrison and in deployed locations in support of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM. BIOGRAPHY OF SERGEANT MAJOR ALEX M. DOBSON

Sergeant Major Dobson was born in Frankfort, Indiana. Upon graduation from recruit training, he was designated a Field Radio Operator. During 1990, Lance Corporal Dobson was assigned to Bravo Battery 1st Bn. 10th Marines for duty where he served as a Radio Operator for the liaison section and subsequently served as the Radio Chief. In March 1992 he was promoted to Cpl (Meritoriously) and was then assigned as the liaison section chief while in direct support of 2d Bn 2d Marines. During this period Cpl Dobson completed one LF6F deployment participating in Operations Provide Promise in the Adriatic Sea and Support Democracy in Haiti. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in January 1994. During the end of 1994 Sergeant Dobson was then transferred to the School of Infantry where he served as a communications instructor to the SNCO Academy as well as the Range Scheduler for the School of Infantry. During the middle of 1995 Sergeant requested and received orders returning him to the Operating Forces where he was reassigned to 1st Bn 10th Marines. During this period, Sergeant Dobson completed another LF6F deployment participating in Operations Quick Response and Assured Response as the Battery Radio Chief. Upon returning from deployment in 1996, Sergeant Dobson requested and received orders to the Drill Field. Upon completion of Drill Instructor school in 1997, Sergeant Dobson was assigned to Kilo Company 3rd Recruit Training Battalion where he served as a Drill Instructor and Senior Drill Instructor. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant in March 1998. In 2000, upon completing a successful tour on the Drill Field, Staff Sergeant Dobson received orders to 2d FSSG. He was assigned as the Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) Manager for the 2d FSSG responsible to the Commanding General for all Cryptographic hardware and software in the 2d FSSG. He was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in April 2001. In August 2001 Gunnery Sergeant Dobson was reassigned to Communication Company where he served as the Company Gunnery Sergeant and Company First Sergeant until August 2003. From January 2001 to March 2002 Gunnery Sergeant Dobson deployed as a member of JTF-160 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom conducting Detainee Operations in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. In February 2002, Gunnery Sergeant Dobson deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Upon returning from deployment in May 2003, Gunnery Sergeant Dobson was assigned as the Company First Sergeant of Communication Company where he stayed until August 2003. In August 2003, Gunnery Sergeant Dobson was assigned to the position as the Company First Sergeant of Service Company H&S Bn. 2d FSSG. In December 2003 Gunnery Sergeant Dobson was selected and subsequently frocked to the rank of First Sergeant and remained in place at 2D FSSG until November 2004, at which time he received order to 1st Battalion, 6th Marines, 2D Marine Division. Upon his check-in he was assigned as the H&S Co. First Sergeant and subsequently deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 04-06 in March 2005. Upon his return to CONUS, First Sergeant Dobson received orders to the Inspector-Instructor Staff Greensboro, North Carolina. In May 2008, Sergeant Major Dobson was promoted to his current rank and was assigned to 2nd Battalion 10th Marines. Sergeant Major Dobson then received orders to Combat Logistics Battalion 6 and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from Jan 2010 to July 2010. Upon returning from deployment Sergeant Major Dobson received orders to Marine Air Control Squadron – 2. In May 2013, SgtMaj Dobson deployed to the United Arab Emirates as the SgtMaj of the Marine Corps Training Mission (MCTM – UAE.) Upon returning from deployment, SgtMaj Dobson was assigned to Combat Logistics Regiment – 25. In April 2016 SgtMaj Dobson was slated to serve as the MCRDSD / Western Recruiting Region SgtMaj. Command Sgt. Maj. Marc Eckard USASOC Command Sergeant Major

Command Sgt. Maj. Marc Eckard graduated Summa Cum Laude from Norwich University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Strategic Studies and Defense Analysis.

He entered the U.S. Army in June 1987. After Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training he was assigned to 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where he served as an infantryman.

Eckard attended Special Forces Assessment and Selection in 1991 and graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course in 1992, after which he was assigned to Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne).

He served in positions of increasing responsibility to include weapons sergeant, and team sergeant, 1st Battalion, 3rd SFG; 2nd Battalion operations sergeant major; company sergeant major, Charlie Company, 3rd Battalion; and 3rd SFG command sergeant major.

Other noteworthy assignments include the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, where he served as battalion command sergeant major, 4th Battalion, 1st Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne). He later returned to USAJFKSWCS as commandant of the Non-Commissioned Officers Academy and most recently the command senior enlisted leader of Special Operations Command Central, McDill, Air Force Base, Florida.

Eckard deployed multiple times throughout his career, supporting Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Uphold Democracy, Noble Obelisk and Enduring Freedom.

Command Sergeant Major Michael A. Ferrusi

Command Sergeant Major Michael A. Ferrusi took the position of senior-enlisted advisor of the 82nd Airborne Division in October, 2017. CSM Michael A. Ferrusi is a native of Niagara Falls; New York. He entered the Military into the Infantry in February of 1987 at Ft Benning, Georgia.

After attending Basic Training, Command Sergeant Major Ferrusi’ s first operational assignment was in 1987 to the 1-509th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Joint Readiness Training Center, and Ft. Chaffee . During this assignment, he served as Rifleman, Saw Gunner, Machine Gunner, RTO, Rifle Team and Squad Leader, and Recon Squad Leader. In 1992 CSM Ferrusi moved to Fort Bragg North Carolina and served as a LRSC Water Team Leader in F Co 51st IN LRSD, 18th Airborne Corps until 1996.

In 1996, Command Sergeant Major Ferrusi was assigned to Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment, Ft. Benning GA, where he served as a RSOV Squad Leader, Weapons Squad Leader and Platoon Sergeant. In 2001, Command Sergeant Major Ferrusi moved to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 75th Ranger Regiment where he served as the Assistant Operations Sergeant and Liaison Operations NCO. During this assignment, he participated in combat operations in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

In April 2002, Command Sergeant Major Ferrusi was re-assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Savannah Georgia, where he served as the Intelligence Operations Sergeant and then First Sergeant for Charlie Company and Headquarters and Headquarters Company. During these assignments, he participated in combat operations in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

In July of 2005, Command Sergeant Major Ferrusi attended and graduated from the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. Following his assignment to the Academy, in 2006 Command Sergeant Major Ferrusi was assigned to the Asymmetric Warfare Group at Ft Meade, Maryland. During his assignment with the AWG, he was the first Group Operations Sergeant Major and the First Command Sergeant Major of Accessions and Selection.

In August of 2007, Command Sergeant Major Ferrusi was assigned to 1-11th IN, 199th IN BDE, FT Benning Georgia, In November of 2009 Command Sergeant Major was assigned to 2-503rd, ABN IN, “The Rock”, 173rd BCT (ABN). During this assignment, he deployed twice for combat operations in Operation Enduring Freedom. In May 2013, CSM Ferrusi was selected as the interim 173rd BCT (ABN) BDE CSM until April 2014.

In April of 2014, CSM Ferrusi was assigned as the 3RD BDE, 10TH Mountain Division Command Sergeant Major. He deployed the Brigade to Afghanistan in July15 as the TAAC-E CSM, Train, Advise, Assist East (Formerly RC East). In April of 2016 CSM Ferrusi became the United States Army Alaska, (USARAK) Command Sergeant Major. In October of 2017 CSM Ferrusi assumed responsibility as the Command Sergeant Major of the 82nd Airborne Division.

Command Sergeant Major Ferrusi is a graduate of the Individual Infantry Basic Training Course, Basic Airborne School, Ranger School, Air Assault School, Pathfinder School, Long Range Reconnaissance Course, Jumpmaster, SERE, numerous Marine and Naval Warfare Operations Schools, and has attended and completed all levels of NCOES. CSM Ferrusi has earned the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, the Master Parachutist Badge, and was awarded the Order of St. Maurice; Centurion and the Honorable Order of St Barbara’s medallion. He is currently enrolled in Trident University in his final class for earning his Bachelor of Science Business Administration degree.

Master Chief Lori J. Fields Fourteenth Coast Guard District Command Master Chief

Command Master Chief Lori Fields assumed the duties as Command Master Chief for the Fourteenth Coast Guard District on May 2, 2018. Her primary responsibility is advisor to the Commander of Coast Guard District Fourteen in Honolulu, Hawaii, regarding issues and initiatives pertaining to all Coast Guard members and their families. The 14th District includes 12.2 million square mile area of operations extending from the Hawaiian Islands, , American Samoa, and activities in , , and Japan.

CMC Fields previously served as the Command Master Chief for SECTOR Northern New in South Portland, advising the SECTOR Commander on matters and policies relating to all Coast Guard members and their families in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

Master Chief Fields is a native of Tonasket, WA. She enlisted in the Coast Guard in August of 1992. CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT AMY R. GIAQUINTO

Chief Master Sergeant Amy R. Giaquinto is the Command Senior Enlisted Leader (CSEL) for the New York National Guard reporting directly to the Adjutant General on all enlisted issues. She represents the highest level of enlisted leadership for the New York National Guard and is responsible for the welfare, readiness, morale, development, and care for over 5800 Airmen and over 10000 Soldiers.

Chief Giaquinto entered the U.S. Army in 1984 and served as an Administrative Specialist while assigned to Headquarters, United States Army, Europe (USAREUR) in Heidelberg, Germany. During this time, Chief Giaquinto was responsible for preparing and executing itineraries for distinguished guests visiting the Headquarters in Heidelberg. In 1997, after a break in service, she joined the New York Air National Guard as an Information Manager at the . She served seven years in the Logistics Readiness Squadron managing the Orderly Room. During this time she also served on the Base Honor Guard. In 2004 Chief Giaquinto was selected as the Information Resource Manager in the Communications Flight where she became the focal point for all Information Management related issues that included training 27 Information Managers and serving as the Webmaster, and Freedom of Information Act Manager. In 2006 Chief Giaquinto was selected as the Office Manager for the Wing Command Staff, administering executive support for the Wing Commander, Vice Commander and Executive Officer. During this time she also served on the Air National Guard Portal Advisory Council, Region 1 Portal Content Manager and Unit Deployment Manager.

In 2009 Chief Giaquinto deployed to Afghanistan in Operation Enduring Freedom, and in 2010 she was selected as a Human Resource Specialist at the New York State Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ), New York Air National Guard (NYANG) in Latham, N.Y. She retrained into the Personnel Career Field and handled all Officer Personnel Programs, including administrative support for both the Commander and the Chief of Staff of the New York Air National Guard. She has been actively involved with the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program serving as a Victim Advocate and as a Bystander Intervention trainer at the Joint Forces Headquarters and the 109th Airlift Wing. In 2011, Chief Giaquinto was selected as the Personnel Superintendent and became the JFHQ Sexual Assault Response Coordinator-Air providing training, guidance and administrative support to the JFHQs and all of the NYANG. In June 2013 Chief Giaquinto was selected as the 109th Airlift Wing Command Chief. In July 2016 Chief Giaquinto was selected as the New York State Command Chief. She assumed her present position in October 2017.

Warrant Officer Diver Lance Graham enlisted into the Royal New Zealand Navy in 1989 as a Radio Operator, serving on three warships over several years. The highlight during this period was successful completion of the Defence Diver Course in 1992.

WODR Graham posted to the diving tender HMNZS Manawanui in 1996. An operational tour followed under the auspices of the United Nations Special Commission (UNSCOM) at the Baghdad Monitoring and Verification Centre, IRAQ.

In 1998 WODR Graham successfully passed the Leading Diver Course and transferred into the Operational Diving Team. A four month deployment with the in 1999 saw him based in Portsmouth working with Fleet Diving Unit One (Maritime Counter Terrorism) and Fleet Diving Unit Two (World Operations Team).

WODR Graham deployed operationally in 2001 to East Timor to effect underwater security in support of East Timorese independence. In 2002 WODR Graham was awarded Sailor of the Quarter and in 2003 he successfully qualified as a Petty Officer Diver, attaining DUX for both the professional and command components. WODR Graham was awarded RNZN Petty Officer DUX of the year for 2003.

In 2004 WODR Graham posted to HMNZS Te Mana, deploying to the Arabian Gulf as an element of Operation Enduring Freedom. WODR Graham posted to the Naval School of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (NAVSCOLEOD) Eglin Air Force Base, Florida in 2006, and qualified as a NATO Explosive Ordnance Technician. On graduation he was awarded honour student for the Underwater Phase. On his return WODR Graham promoted to Chief Petty Officer and posted to the newly formed Joint Service EOD School where he was a founding instructor. In 2007 WODR Graham deployed operationally to Southern Lebanon as an EOD Team Leader under the UN Mine Action Co-ordination Centre (UNMACC) mandate.

WODR GRAHAM returned to the Operational Diving Team (ODT) in 2008 where he planned, executed and led all domestic, international and multi-agency exercises and operations. This included assistance to the Tongan Government after the sinking of Princess Ashika in 2009, and post tsunami support during Pacific Partnership 2011. That same year WODR GRAHAM received a Maritime Component Commander Commendation for his outstanding contribution to the RNZN.

WODR GRAHAM was promoted to his current rank in 2010 and posted into an executive role where he was pivotal in developing multi-agency and coalition partnerships. In 2011 WODR GRAHAM posted to the RNZN Diving School where he assumed the role of Head of the Diving Trade.

In 2014 WODR GRAHAM successfully completed the NZDF Joint Warrant Officer Advanced Course achieving excellent results. In 2015 WODR GRAHAM posted to the Leadership Development Group as Directing Staff for the Recruit Training Squadron.

In August 2016 WODR Graham posted into the role of Command Warrant Officer (CWO) for Headquarters Deployable Joint Interagency Task Force (HQDJIATF). During October 2016 WODR Graham was selected to represent the NZDF as a facilitator on the NATO Intermediate Leadership Course in a Multicultural Environment Lucerne, Switzerland.

WODR Graham deployed operationally with HQDJIATF on 14 November 2016 in response to the Kaikoura earthquake in New Zealand. In October and November 2017 he deployed on Exercise Southern Katipo as deputy of the Commanders Advisory Group (CAG). During Exercise Tropic Major held May 2018 in VANUATU, he planned and executed all KLE, led the CAG throughout and undertook Gender Advisory duties to support the Commander.

In Dec 2018 WO GRAHAM posted to US INDOPACOM as the Foreign Exchange Officer with the Global Operations Initiative (GPOI) and the J00SEL.

WO GRAHAM is married to Stacy Craigie and is the proud father of Maia Shakti (17), Eve Aroha (7) and Indie Ambar (3).

BIOGRAPHY

CMDCM (SW/AW) Justin Gray is a native of Shoshone, Idaho and graduated from Shoshone High School in May of 1991. Immediately following graduation he enlisted in the US Navy, attending Basic Training, Nuclear Field Machinist Mate “A” School and Naval at Naval Training Center, Orlando, Florida. He completed his nuclear prototype training and Engineering Laboratory Technician “C” school at Naval Nuclear Power Training Unit Idaho Falls, Idaho in June of 1992.

His operational nuclear propulsion tours include USS CALIFORNIA (CGN 36), USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72), and USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69). He completed a maintenance activity tour in R-5/R-10 division onboard USS SIMON LAKE (AS 33). He has also completed three instructor tours at NUCLEAR POWER TRAINING UNIT BALSTON SPA and SUBMARINE LEARNING FACILITY NORFOLK, qualifying Master Training Specialist each time.

He served as USS GONZALEZ’ CMC from October 2013 to March 2016. During his tour GONZALEZ earned consecutive Battle “E” awards and the 2015 Retention Excellence Award. He served as Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads’ CMC from April 2016 to March 2018 earning the Retention Excellence Award for 2016 and 2017. He became the Navy Region Mid-Atlantic CMC in March 2018.

Master Chief Gray is a Dean’s List graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 150 Gray), and has completed the COB/CMC course and MCPON’s Executive Leadership Seminar. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Resource Management from New School University and a Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering from Old Dominion University.

His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), Good Conduct Medal (8 awards), Humanitarian Service Medal and various unit citations and awards.

Command Master Chief Hailey is a native of Austin, Texas. He graduated high school in 1993 and enlisted in the Navy in 1994. He is a designated Master Training Specialist, and is a graduate of the US Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 154/Brown), CMC/COB Course (Class 109), and the Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education Course at National Defense University/Joint Forces Staff College. Additionally, he earned his Associates in Arts Degree majoring in Marine Systems Management from Coastline Community College in May 2007 and earned his certification in Organizational Leadership from Fort Hays State University in June 2012. Following his graduation from recruit training at RTC Great Lakes and Surface Sonar Technician “A” School, his first duty station was the Pre-Commissioning crew of the USS FITZGERALD (DDG 62) , CA. Follow on tours include: USS BENFOLD (DDG 65) San Diego, CA. and USS CHUNG-HOON (DDG 93) Pearl Harbor, HI. WARRANT OFFICER MICHAEL HENNESSY MNZM

W/O Hennessy enlisted in the Royal New Zealand Air Force on the 7th October 1986 as an Avionics Technician. As a technical tradesman and supervisor, W/O Hennessy has served on No’s 75, 2, 40 and 3 Squadrons.

In 1991 he was posted to No. 2 Squadron, as part of the RNZAF’s initial deployment of A4 Skyhawks to the Royal Australian Naval Base Albatross in Nowra, Australia. In 1996 he was promoted to Sergeant and posted to No. 40 Squadron where he participated in tactical and strategic airlift operations in support of NZDF outputs around the world.

In 1999 he was posted to No. 3 Squadron, and deployed with them to East Timor as part of the United Nations Transitional Authority Mission (UNTAET). Promoted to Flight Sergeant in 2001, W/O Hennessy remained on No. 3 Squadron, undertaking a second deployment to East Timor as the Aircraft Maintenance Team Leader. In 2002, he moved to RNZAF Base Ohakea to help lay the foundation for the relocation of No. 3 Squadron from Hobsonville to Ohakea. In that same year, he also completed his third deployment to East Timor. In 2004 W/O Hennessy completed a fourth deployment with No. 3 Squadron, this time to the in support of the Regional Assistance Mission (OP RAMSI). In recognition of his services to No. 3 Squadron W/O Hennessy was made a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the 2004 New Year’s Honours list.

Selected to attend the USAF SNCO Academy (AFSNCOA) in January 2007, Warrant Officer Hennessy was the first RNZAF SNCO to attend and graduate from the academy. On return to NZ in March 2007, he was promoted to Warrant Officer and posted to the Command and Recruit Training Squadron (CRTS) as the Squadron Warrant Officer. Remaining at CRTS, W/O Hennessy was appointed Chief Instructor of NCO Leadership training in May 2009 where he was responsible for the facilitation and delivery of all RNZAF NCO leadership courses from Corporal through to Warrant Officer.

In Aug 2010, W/O Hennessy returned to No. 3 Squadron as the Squadron Warrant Officer. As an executive member of No. 3 Squadron, he participated in single Service, Joint and Multi-agency / National exercises and operations. Responsible for the morale, welfare, discipline and coordination of all personnel in order to ensure the provision of safe, effective air operations. He often carried out these duties in conjunction with holding Delegated Engineering Authority with responsibility for the Technical Airworthiness of the RNZAF assets allocated to the mission.

W/O Hennessy was appointed to his current position as Career Manager (Technical) in the Directorate of Career Management (DCM) in Jan 2015. He is currently responsible for the strategic career management of all RNZAF technical personnel

He has been married for 25 years to Nicki, a school teacher, and they have two adult daughters, Caitlin and Paige.

Command Sergeant Major Bruce W. Holmes Senior Enlisted Leader

CSM Bruce W. Holmes is a native of Granbury, Texas. He enlisted in the Army on August 6, 1993 as a Medical Laboratory Technician, and attended Basic Training at Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri followed by Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. As a lab technician, he served at , Maryland; Fort Bragg, North Carolina; and the Republic of Korea.

CSM Holmes attended Special Forces Assessment and Selection in 2000, and graduated the Special Forces Qualification Course as an 18D (Special Forces Medic) in 2002. Assigned to 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), CSM Holmes held positions as an Operational Detachment Alpha Medic, ODA Operations Sergeant, First Sergeant, Group Operations Sergeant Major, as well as Company Sergeant Major.

CSM Holmes was previously assigned as the Special Forces liaison to conventional forces in Ghazni Province, Afghanistan, as well as the Operations Sergeant Major for 1st Special Forces Command (Airborne). He served as the Command Sergeant Major for 3rd Battalion, 3rd SFG(A), and as the Group CSM for 3rd SFG(A).

He has completed seven combat deployments in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM as well as multiple deployments to the African continent.

His awards and decorations include the Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Army Commendation with Valor. He has earned the Combat Infantry Badge, Combat Medic Badge, the Special Forces Tab, Expert Field Medical Badge, Military Freefall Parachutist Jumpmaster Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, German Schuetzenschnur and Free Fall Wings (Silver), Estonian Freefall Wings, and Air Assault Badge.

CSM Holmes is a graduate of the Joint Special Operations Senior Enlisted Academy and the Summit Course, and is an inductee in the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.

CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT MICHELLE R. JACKSON

Chief Master Sergeant Michelle R. Jackson is the Command Chief of the 82d Training Wing, Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. As Command Chief, she represents the highest enlisted level of leadership for the command and executes the commander's mission by developing the wing's capacity for combat preparedness and professional development for the permanent party force and over 60,000 Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine, Coast Guard, and allied students each year at Sheppard and through the wing's 64 detached units across the globe. Additionally, the Chief directly supports the mission accomplishment of the 80th Flying Training Wing as it generates 66,000 sorties annually to train combat pilots for the U.S. and its NATO allies.

Chief Jackson entered the Air Force in September 1994. She graduated from the information management apprentice course at Keesler AFB, Miss., in January 1995. Her background includes various duties in information management, knowledge operations and communications at wing, major-command and air staff levels. Her assignments include bases in Mississippi, Virginia, the District of Columbia, Ohio, and overseas positions in Germany, South Korea and Hawaii. She deployed in support of Operation Joint Guard and Joint Forge, as well as Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.

Prior to assuming her current position, she served as the Command Chief, National Air and Space Intelligence Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

Force Master Chief (SEAL) WILLIAM A. KING Naval Special Warfare Force Master Chief

William King is the Force Master Chief of Naval Special Warfare (NSW) at Naval Special Warfare Command (WARCOM), the component headquarters for NSW.

Force Master Chief King was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He enlisted in the in the in April, 1991 and attended Quartermaster “A” School in Orlando, Florida. He then reported to Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL School (BUD/S), graduating with Class 182 in May of 1992. Following BUD/S graduation, Master Chief King was assigned to SEAL Team ONE, NAB Coronado, California from 1992 to 1998 where he completed two tours as a Platoon Operator and nine months in Training Cell.

He reported to Naval Special Warfare Development Group (NSWDG) and completed Selection and Training in 1998. He was initially assigned to Tactical Development and Evaluation Squadron THREE where he served as Assault Team Member, Team Leader, Operations Chief, and Troop Chief from 1999 through 2005. During this period he completed six deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Following his squadron time, he served as the Selection and Training Program and Training Department Master Chief from 2006 to 2008.

Tactical Development and Evaluation Squadron FIVE was commissioned on 04 July 2008 with Master Chief King serving as the plank owner Command Master Chief. While assigned to Squadron FIVE, he completed two additional tours to Afghanistan. He then served as the NSWDG Operations Master Chief and as a member of the Commander’s Initiatives Group from 2010 to 2013. In June of 2013, while attached to a Joint Task Force (JTF), he served as the Regional Task Force Senior Enlisted Advisor for a 900 person unit focused on specific geographic areas outside the areas of active armed conflict. He then served as the Command Master Chief for NSWDG from August of 2015 to August of 2017.

Master Chief King holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in commercial photography from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California and a Master of International Public Policy from The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington DC. Force Master Chief Chris Kotz, a native of North Augusta, South Carolina, enlisted in the United States Navy in February 1991. Following graduation from basic training at Recruit Training Command, San Diego, California, he reported to Basic Hospital Corps School, Naval School of Health Sciences, San Diego, California. Kotz later graduated from the Surface Force Independent Duty Corps School and also the Field Medical Service School. United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 140), Command Leadership School (Class 95) and has earned a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Ashford University.

Chief Master Sergeant Summer Leifer is the Command Chief Master Sergeant of the 480th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va. Chief Leifer advises the commander on all aspects of the worldwide intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations of six ISR groups, supporting nine commanders, including more than 6,000 military, civilian and contractor personnel, and a total enterprise valued at more than $5 billion.

Chief Leifer entered the Air Force in November, 1994. She graduated from the cryptologic language analyst course at Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas in October, 1996. Her background includes numerous duties as a cryptologic language and intelligence analyst within the United States Air Force and National Security Agency. Throughout her career, Chief Leifer has filled a myriad of operational, leadership and management positions including additional-duty First Sergeant. Her assignments include installations in Georgia, Maryland and South Carolina. She has also deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

CWO Mathers joined the CF in 1985 and upon graduation from Crewman training was posted to the Lord Strathcona’s Horse (RC) in Calgary. In 1988 he deployed to Cyprus and throughout the next 30 years he took part in missions in Golan Heights, Bosnia and twice in Afghanistan. In 2011 he was invested in the Order of Military Merit and later that same year he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for his contributions and performance of his duties as the Reconnaissance Squadron Sergeant Major for Task Force 3-09 in Afghanistan.

Over the 32 years of service he has been posted 14 times and has served in all three Armour regiments, DMILC as part of the Crewman Career Management team, LFCA (TC) Meaford, Canadian Forces Training Development Centre CSM Borden and the Armour School in Gagetown. Upon promotion to CWO in 2013 he attended RMC Kingston for a full year of studies as part of the NCM Executive Professional Development Program before being appointed RSM of the Armour School the following summer. Post RSM he occupied Key appointments as the Senior Army Mentor at CMR St Jean and currently holds the position of Advanced Leadership Program Director for the CWO Robert Osside Institute.

He is a proud father of 2 children, four grandsons and two granddaughters.

CWO Mathers is forecast to be the next CSEL for NATO Allied Land Command as of summer 2019.

Master Chief Metcalfe is a native of Riverside, CA and entered the Navy in 1988 through the Delayed Entry Program while completing his senior year of high school. He attended basic training at Recruit Training Command San Diego under the Airman Apprentice program.

Upon graduation from Airman Apprenticeship School, he reported to the USS INDEPENDENCE (CV-62). While onboard, he attended Aviation Boatswain Mate Fuels “A” school in Lakehurst, NJ. He returned to INDEPENDENCE, and deployed to the Gulf of Oman in support of OPERATION DESERT SHIELD. During deployment, he advanced to ABF3. He was honorably discharged from active duty in 1991.

After a four-year break in service, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO in 1995. He attended AIT at Fort Sam Houston, TX, graduating as a Combat Medic. In 1996, he reported to Fort Benning, GA for duty with the 690th Medical Company (ground ambulance), serving under the 56th Evac Battalion, 18th Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, NC. He provided operational medical support to the United States West Point, NY, OPERATION SEA DRAGON, and OPERATION BRIGHT STAR. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged in 1999.

In 2001, he returned to the Navy, enlisting in the reserves as a Hospital Corpsman serving with Navy Hospital Jacksonville, FL. In 2008 he was selected for a billet with Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron (MSRON) SIX, serving as the Reserve Senior Enlisted Leader. In 2010, he was selected to the rank of Senior Chief and to serve as Headquarters Senior Enlisted Leader for MSRON FOURTEEN. In 2012, he was board selected as a Command Senior Chief, with his first assignment with Cargo Afloat Rig Team (CART) ONE located in Colts Neck, NJ. He was then selected to the rank of Master Chief in 2013.

He’s been recalled three times in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM, NOBLE EAGLE and FREEDOM’S SENTINEL; serving at Naval Hospital Beaufort, SC in 2003, Navy Mobilization Processing Site San Diego, CA in 2006, and U.S. Naval Forces Central Command Forward HQ in 2015.

His CMC assignments include CART-1, USNS COMFORT (T-AH-20), NOSC Columbus, Georgia, NAVCENT FWD HQ Qatar/Afghanistan, NR COMNAVFOR Korea (CNFK), and currently serving with NR Littoral Combat Ship Squadron (LCSRON) TWO.

WO1 Paton was born in Cornwall, England and joined the in late 1997 as a Light Infantryman. He served in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Operation Banner with 2nd Bn The Light Infantry in the Anti-Tank Pl until March 1999 when the Bn relocated to Salisbury, England. In the summer of 1999, WO1 Paton was promoted to Lance Corporal and in late in 2000, he was deployed to Pristina, Kosovo for six months where he was a MILAN detachment 2IC. In 2001 WO1 Paton attended the MILAN Detachment Commanders course and then deployed in the summer to Freetown, Sierra Leone as a Section Commander. Early 2002 the Bn moved to Dhekelia in Cyprus. During this period WO1 Paton deployed to Basrah, Iraq in 2003 as a Section Commander, the Falkland Islands as a Section Commander in 2004, and then to Baghdad, Iraq as a Platoon Serjeant in 2006. WO1 Paton also completed both the Section Commanders Battle Course, the Platoon Serjeants Battle Course and also attended the Infantry Training Centre as a Corporal and as a Platoon Serjeant.

In 2007 WO1 Paton was posted to RMAS and spent two years as a Colour Serjeant Instructor growing the future generation of Army Officers. In the Summer of 2009, WO1 Paton moved to 3 Rifles and deployed to Sangin, Afghanistan as a Platoon Commander. On return, he took up the role of Company Quarter Master Serjeant, deployed to and then promoted to Warrant Officer Class 2 and given C Company 3 Rifles. The primary focus was to train the Company for Operation Herrick 16, which would see the Company deploy to Nad–e-Ali, Afghanistan as an Operations/Ground Holding Company in the summer of 2012. On return, he was posted to RMAS as a Company Serjeant Major and remained there until Mar 2015 when he returned to 3 Rifles as the Regimental Serjeant Major (RSM). In 2016 the Army selected WO1 Paton to be the first British student since 1989 to attend the 10 month residential Sergeants Major Course at the United States of America Sergeants Major Academy (USASMA) in Fort Bliss, Texas.

On return from USASMA, WO1 Paton was commissioned and selected to be the first Comd SM for the Field Army, based in Andover.

During his 18 years of Infantry experience, WO1 Paton has deployed in every rank, attended both the Infantry Training Centre and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst as an instructor and attended all mainstream Infantry career courses successfully. Along with his operational service medals, he has received medals for Long Service and Good Conduct and Accumulated Service.

Chief Master Sergeant Nathaniel M. Perry Jr. is the Commandant, United States Air Force First Sergeant Academy, Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base, Alabama. In this role, he serves as the principle advisor to the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, the First Sergeant Special Duty Manager, and the Barnes Center for Enlisted Education on the development, education and training of over 700 newly-selected first sergeants per year. The USAF First Sergeant Academy administers a demanding course focused on preparing active duty, guard, and reserve first sergeants to be key advisors to commanders on the readiness, health, morale, and welfare of airmen and families across the Air Force. Chief Perry is the 17th Chief Master Sergeant to serve in this position.

Chief Perry was raised in Hammond, Louisiana and entered the Air Force in September 1992. He began his military career as an Inventory Management Specialist and later retrained into the Mental Health career field. Chief Perry has served in a variety of leadership positions at the squadron, group, Wing, and MAJCOM levels. His duties have included tours as a first sergeant, group superintendent, MAJCOM functional manager, and command chief. Prior to assuming his current position, he served as the Command Chief Master Sergeant for the on Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. Chief Perry has deployed in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and overseas contingencies operations.

Command Master Chief (FMF /SW/EXW) Zachary D. Pryor

Master Chief Pryor enlisted in the United States Navy in May of 1993 from Alliance, Nebraska. Upon completion of Recruit Training Command, San Diego, California he attended Hospital Corpsman “A” School and Operating Room Technician “C” School at The Naval School of Health Science, San Diego, California. Master Chief Pryor’s duty assignments as an Operating Room Technician included Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD), a deployment on the USS CLEVELAND (LPD-7), Fleet Surgical Team ONE (FST-1) and a deployment on the USS ESSEX (LHD-2).

In 2003 Master Chief Pryor attended Independent Duty Corpsman “C” School and Field Medical Service School at The Naval School of Health Science, San Diego, California. As an Independent Duty Corpsman he was stationed with 2nd Marine Division and served with 1st Battalion 2nd Marines with combat deployments to Iraq in 2004-05 and 2005-06 and served with 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance. He also served at Naval Hospital Camp LeJeune’s Wayne Carron and Camp Geiger Branch Medical Clinics. In 2008 he deployed as an Individual Augmentee (IA) with Naval SPECWARUNITTWO. In 2010 Master Chief Pryor graduated from the Senior Enlisted Academy and transferred to Norfolk/Virginia Beach where he served with Beachmaster Unit TWO (BMU-2) as both the SEA and IDC. He followed with a tour onboard the USS OAK HILL (LSD-51).

After selection to the Command Senior/Master Chief Program, Master Chief Pryor graduated from the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course in 2014. He reported to DESRON 50, Manama, Bahrain in March 2014-January 2016. His 2nd CMC tour was U.S. Naval Hospital Guam from January 2016-Dec 2017. He assumed the duties as CMC of 1st Marine Logistics Group Jan 2018.

Master Chief Pryor holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Care Management from Touro University International and a Master’s of Science in Educational Leadership from Trident University.

CSM John T. Raines CSEL Mississippi National Guard

Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Raines was selected as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader of the Mississippi National Guard on 15 July 2015.

He began his military career in August 1989 and has served in both the and United States Army for over 29 years. He completed basic military training and Advanced Individual Training at Ft Jackson, South Carolina and Ft. Gordon, GA. respectively before reclassifying as an Infantryman at Ft. Benning, GA. CSM Raines was promoted to the rank of Sergeant Major on 1 May 2008. Prior to becoming the Command Senior Enlisted Leader of the MSNG, he served as the J3 Senior Enlisted Leader for US Pacific Command where he deployed all around South Asia and the Pacific coaching and mentoring joint US forces as well as numerous foreign partners in the region. CSM Raines deployments include Desert Shield and Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He has also been activated in support of as well as served in the Republic of Korea.

CSM Raines military and civilian education includes all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System to include the Executive Leader Course at the US Army War College. He is also a fellow from the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies. CSM Raines has a Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior College.

CSM Edison M. Rebuck was born in Aldershot England in 1971 and moved to Lexington, Kentucky in 1984. He enlisted in the Army in 1989 and attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Knox Kentucky where he graduated as a 19K Armor Crewman. CSM Rebuck has served in the 1st Cavalry Division, the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 25th Infantry Divisions, the 85th Division, the 1st Armored Division, First Army Division East the U.S. Army Armor School and at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin. After completing the Sergeants Major Academy he was assigned as the Brigade Operations Sergeant Major of 1st Brigade, 1st Armored Division. CSM Rebuck was then assigned as the BN CSM for the Buffalos, 4th Battalion 17th Infantry (). He then served as the Brigade CSM for the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado and the Brigade CSM for 177th AR Brigade at Camp Shelby, Mississippi. CSM Rebuck then served as the National Training Center and Fort Irwin CSM and later as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the Office of Security Cooperation Iraq. CSM Rebuck’s deployments include Desert Storm and Desert Shield, Intrinsic Action, and operations throughout the Balkans, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation New Dawn, Operation Enduring Freedom (Spartan Shield), and Operation Inherent Resolve. CSM Rebuck's military and civilian education includes all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System, Tank Master Gunner Course, Master Fitness Trainer Course, First Sergeants Course, Command Sergeants Major Course (BN and BDE), the Force Management Course and various other professional development courses. Chief Master Sergeant Ernesto J Rendon is the Command Chief Master Sergeant, 86th Airlift Wing, , Germany. The 86th Airlift Wing is composed of seven groups and 32 squadrons across four bases in Germany, Spain, and Portugal. The wing's mission is to provide combat airlift and operate the Air Force's premier power projection platform. The 86th Airlift Wing conducts USAFE's only airlift, airdrop and aeromedical evacuation flying operations, as well as provides rapid mobility and expeditionary combat support for military operations. Chief Rendon advises the commander and senior leadership on military readiness, mission effectiveness, professional development, morale, welfare, training, and good order and discipline of the wing's 8,000 personnel. He ensures the commander's policies and guidance are known, understood, and enforced

Chief Rendon entered the Air Force in October 1992. He graduated from the Air Transportation specialist course at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, and his background includes various duties within the Air Transportation career field, including a three-year assignment as an Air Education and Training Command instructor supervisor for apprentice and craftsman courses. Chief Rendon also served as a First Sergeant for four Air Force units at two permanent duty stations and one deployed location. His assignments include bases in San Antonio and Washington with overseas assignments in Germany, Turkey and Japan. Chief Rendon deployed in support of and Operation Enduring Freedom.

In September 1994, Sergeant Major Rodriguez was reassigned to Alpha Battery, 1st Battalion, 11th Marines. In Sept 1995, Sergeant Major Rodriguez deployed on a WESTPAC with Battalion Landing Team 3/1. During the deployment with the BLT, Sergeant Major Rodriguez participated in Operation Desert Storm, Kuwait Cease fire and Operation United Shield/Restore Hope II in .

In June of 1995, Sergeant Major Rodriguez was reassigned to Lima battery 3d Battalion, 12th Marines, as a Section Chief. While assigned to Lima Battery Sergeant Major Rodriguez deployed to Yatsubetsu, Japan and Australia for Exercise “Tandem Thrust”. During this period he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

In Sept of 1997 Sergeant Major Rodriguez was reassigned to Fox Battery 2d Battalion, 10th Marines, as a Section Chief and Guns Platoon Sergeant. During this period Sergeant Major Rodriguez was deployed with BLT 1/6 and BLT 2/6 to the Mediterranean. While deployed with the BLT’s Sergeant Major Rodriguez participated in Operation Dynamic response in Kosovo, Noble Shirley and Dynamic mix in Greece. During this period Sergeant Major Rodriguez was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in June of 1999.

In Sept 2001 Sergeant Major Rodriguez was assigned to attend Drill Instructor School at Parris Island, South Carolina. After completion of Drill instructor school Sergeant Major Rodriguez was assigned to Mike Company 3rd RTBN, were he served as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, and Series Gunnery Sergeant. During this period Sergeant Major Rodriguez was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in 2003.

In January 2004 Sergeant Major Rodriguez reported to 1st Battalion 12th Marines, where he served as Battery Gunnery Sergeant for Headquarters and Service Battery and Charlie Battery. While assigned as the Battery Gunnery Sergeant he deployed to for Exercise Cobra Gold and Okinawa as part of the Unit Deployment Program. In June 2006 Sergeant Major Rodriguez was promoted to 1stSgt and assigned to Charlie Company 1st Battalion 3d Marines. In March 2007, Sergeant Major Rodriguez deployed to the Haditha Triad in support of OIF 06- 08.

In January of 2008, Sergeant Major Rodriguez reported to Echo Company, 2D RTBN MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina for duty as the Company First Sergeant. Sergeant Major Rodriguez completed 4 cycles as a Company First Sergeant. In June 2009 Sergeant Major Rodriguez was appointed as the First Sergeant of Drill Instructor School MCRD Parris Island, until June 2010.

In August 2010 Sergeant Major Rodriguez attended the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 61).

In July 2011, he was promoted and assigned as the Sergeant Major for 3d Battalion 7th Marines, where he deployed to Afghanistan in support of OEF 11-2 and 13-2.

In August 2014, Sergeant Major Rodriguez assumed his current billet as Regimental Sergeant Major for Headquarters Regiment, 1st Marine Logistics Group Sergeant Major.

Warrant Officer Scott James Shipton – Biography

WO Shipton was born in Clermont, QLD on 04 April 1971. He enlisted into the Navy on 08 January 1990 and completed all specialist training in June 1990. WO Shipton has had a range of ship and shore postings.

Upon completing specialist Anti Submarine Warfare (ASW) training in June 1990, WO Shipton posted to HMAS Parramatta (DE46) as a Sonar Operator and remained there until her decommissioning in January 1991. In January 1991 WO Shipton posted to the Perth Class Guided Missile Destroyer HMAS Hobart (DDG39) where he remained until July 1993. WO Shipton completed conversion training to Combat Systems Operator at HMAS Watson in December 1993, was promoted to Leading Seaman and posted back to Hobart in January 1994. From January 1994 to March 1998 WO Shipton completed numerous deployments to SE Asia, NE Asia, SW Pacific and RIMPAC in the Guided Missile Destroyers HMA Ships Hobart, Brisbane (DDG41) and Perth (DDG38).

WO Shipton was promoted to Petty Officer in June 1998 and spent the next 18 months as an ASW Instructor at the RAN Surface Warfare School. In May 2000 WO Shipton posted to the Adelaide Class Guided Missile HMAS Sydney (FFG03) as an Operations Room Supervisor. In October 2001 WO Shipton deployed to Operation SLIPPER in Sydney and was 2I/C of a RAN Boarding Team conducting Maritime Interception Operations in the Middle East Area of Operations.

In September 2002 WO Shipton was promoted to Chief Petty Officer and appointed as Chief Instructor ASW at the RAN Surface Warfare School. In November 2003 WO Shipton was posted as commissioning crew of the ANZAC Class Frigate, HMAS Ballarat (FFH155). During this posting the ship was deployed to Border Protection operations as part of OP RELEX II. In June 2005, WO Shipton posted to the Australian Joint Acoustic Analysis Centre (AJAAC) at HMAS Albatross. During this posting WO Shipton contributed to the introduction of Passive Acoustic training to the RAN Surface Fleet.

Upon promotion to Warrant Officer in August 2007 WO Shipton posted to the Australian Fleet Sea Training Group as the Fleet Anti Submarine Warfare specialist. During his time in this position WO Shipton was also the lead Warrant Officer for Force Protection and Mine Hunter Coastal Maritime Warfare training. In January 2010 WO Shipton posted to Training Authority–Maritime Warfare as the Combat Systems Operator Category Manager. In this role he implemented the Combat Systems Operator Review and contributed to the successful re-introduction of the Electronic Warfare Category into the RAN.

In October 2011 WO Shipton was selected to progress to Tier Bravo and in July 2012 was appointed as Ships Warrant Officer in the Adelaide Class Guided Missile Frigate HMAS Melbourne (FFG05). During this posting, WO Shipton completed a highly successful deployment to Operation SLIPPER in 2013-2014 where the ship conducted Counter Piracy and Counter Narcotic operations in the Middle East Area of Operations and off the coast of East Africa. In April 2015 WO Shipton became the inaugural Force Warrant Officer–MHP Force where he assisted in the introduction of the revised Armidale Class Patrol Boat crewing and Mine Clearance Diving restructure. In June 2017 WO Shipton was appointed as the Ships Warrant Officer in the Landing Helicopter Dock, HMAS Adelaide (LHD01). WO Shipton was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the Queens Birthday 2018 Honours List for his contribution to training and personnel management within the Royal Australian Navy.

WO Shipton is married to Jemima, who is an Early Childhood Educator and they have two daughters, Stephanie and Georgie. Stephanie is also an Early Childhood Educator and intends studying Primary School teaching. Georgie is in Year 9 and is a National Gymnastics champion. WO Shipton enjoys spending time with his family and has a keen interest in Boxing, Mixed Martial Arts, fitness and V8 Supercars. WO Shipton is a passionate Queenslander and supports the Brisbane Broncos.

Command Master Chief Seventh Coast Guard District

Master Chief Spencer assumed the duties as Command Master Chief of the Seventh Coast Guard District in June of 2018. Master Chief serves as the senior enlisted advisor to the Seventh District Commander on all things pertaining to Readiness, Relevance, and Responsiveness for the members and their families throughout the District encompassing South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

A native of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Master Chief Spencer enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 1995 at the age of seventeen. Upon graduating from Training Center Cape May, New Jersey, he reported aboard USCGC COURAGEOUS (WMEC 622) in , Florida. Master Chief Darrell Timpa is a native of Dallas, Texas. He graduated from high school and joined the Naval Reserve in 1988 graduating from Hospital Corps School San Diego and serving with Fleet Hospital 500 CBTZ 21 DET E until October 1991 when he joined the active duty forces. Master Chief Timpa’s first assignment on active duty was at Naval Regional Medical Center San Diego assigned to the Anesthesia Department until his attending Naval Aircrew Man Candidate School in Pensacola. Master Chief Timpa was designated a Naval Air Crewman in November 1993 and was assigned to NAS Patuxent River as an Inflight Medical Technician. Master Chief Timpa’s follow on flying tours were at Naval Hospital Corpus Christi and Branch Medical Clinic aboard MCAS Iwakuni holding the positions of Inflight Medical Technician NATOPS standardization and LPO of the Inflight Medical Technicians; Emergency Medical Services; Education and Training department; Urgent Care; Immunizations Clinic. March 2004, Master Chief Timpa graduated from Independent Duty Corpsman (IDC) School and was assigned to USS VINCENNES (CG 49) assigned to the Forward Deployed Naval Forces Japan until her decommissioning when he cross decked to USS LASSEN (DDG 82) serving as the Senior Medical Department Representative (SMDR) and Executive Department LCPO. In March 2007, he was assigned to Commander Amphibious Forces Seventh Fleet (ESG 7) where he served as the headquarters Senior Enlisted Leader, Senior Inspector and Assistant Plans Operations Military Intelligence (POMI) Officer until August 2009 when he was assigned to Surface Warfare Medicine Institute as the Program Director for IDC School until April 2012 when he was selected into the Command Master Chief Program. Master Chief Timpa joined the “Argonauts” of VFA-147 as the Command Master Chief in July 2012 completing a deployment in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and Regional Security Operations onboard USS NIMITZ (CVN 68). Master Chief Timpa then reported as Carrier Air Wing ELEVEN Command Master Chief in March 2015 until August 2017 completing multiple air wing training and readiness detachments in preparation for another successful combat deployment aboard USS NIMITZ (CVN 68) to the FIFTH Fleet area or responsibility. Master Chief Timpa is currently serving as Command Master Chief USS (CVN 76) permanently assigned to the SEVENTH Fleet area of operations. Master Chief Timpa is a graduate of Naval Air Crewman Candidate School, Independent Duty Corpsman School, Senior Enlisted Academy class 166 Blue Group, CMC/COB Leadership Course, Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education Course I/II, and MCPON Executive Leadership Symposium. Master Chief Jason Wong assumed the duties as the Command Master Chief for the Thirteenth Coast Guard District on 09 July 2018. His primary responsibility is to advise the Commander of the Thirteenth Coast Guard District on issues and initiatives pertaining to all Coast Guardsmen and their families throughout the District, encompassing Washington, Oregon, Montana, and Idaho. Master Chief Wong recently served as the Command Master Chief for Personnel Service Center at Coast Guard Headquarters, DC. Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Master Chief Wong enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 1993.
