DEPUTY GRAND MARSHAL LTC RAYMOND LAMBOY A lifelong New Yorker, Lieutenant Colonel Raymond Lamboy was born in New York City. This dedicated patriot has devoted his entire life to the service of his community, state and country. Our Deputy Grand Marshall joined the New York National Guard in 1979 and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1981, and was subsequently promoted to 1st Lieutenant in 1984 at which time he assumed the duties of Fire Direction Control Officer and Battalion Ammunition Officer for the 258th Field Artillery. Rising steadily through the ranks Raymond Lamboy became qualified in a variety of military disciplines known as Military Occupational Specialties, such as Quartermaster, Transportation, Ordnance, and Administrative Medical. Following his course of study at the US Army Command and General Staff College, Lamboy was given command of Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the 369th Transportation Battalion. His next posting was to the 107th Core Support Group included a promotion to Major and an assignment as the unit’s Intelligence Officer. The attacks of 9/11/2001 found Major Lamboy serving as the Executive Officer of Troop Command Soldiers at Ground Zero over a period of three months. Following his service at Ground Zero he returned to the 369th Sustainment Brigade and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and appointed Deputy Commander. Retiring from federal service in 2010, LTC Lamboy made a decision to return to military service, this time on the state level, joining the New York Guard State Defense Force in 2012 where he now serves as the Commander, 88th Area Command, based at the 69th Regiment Armory on Lexington Avenue in Manhattan. During the course of his long and storied military career LTC Raymond Lamboy has received many awards and commendations, among them the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (3), Army Reserve Component Medal, National Defense Service, Army Reserve Ribbon, Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon and the Humanitarian Service Medal. LTC Ray Lamboy is married to the lovely Dorothy Ann Lamboy, and is the proud father of Dorothy and Jason. We are delighted to have such an accomplished and dedicated soldier as our Deputy Grand Marshall for the 42nd Queens County St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
