Hermès In the Pocket watch This year the auction is in Geneva, Switzerland, for the first time, under the auspices of Phillips Auction House in association with Bacs & Russo. “I believe that Only Watch 2015 is going to be one of the most important horo- logical events for manufactures and collectors alike,” says Aurel Bacs, senior consultant for Phillips and co-founder of Bacs & Russo. “This event allows manufactures to shine by displaying their know-how, both on a technical and an aesthetic level paired with the ability to create a truly unique watch. Besides raising funds for a fine cause, it allows manufactures to satisfy the elite of watch collectors who are seeking to acquire a one-of-a-kind timepiece. “When we were approached by Luc Pettavino, we thought it was most appropri- ate, if not our duty, to give back to those who suffer from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and cannot maintain a job as we can. A job can give them daily plea- sure and satisfaction,” he continues. “Phillips, in association with Bacs & Russo, has clearly defined its mission as bringing together the finest quality watches and the most passionate collectors in the market today. Having been chosen to be the platform and auctioneer for the 44 unique timepieces is a perfect match for our mission and role in the market.” This year’s auction appears poised to continue Only Watch’s history of record- breaking sales. ”Given the list of participants, the quality of the watches created, the media coverage, the partners, the co-organizer Monaco Yacht Show and the collaboration with great auctioneers, Phillips in association with Bacs & Russo, I have no doubt there will be smiles, thrill and joy on November 7 in Geneva,” says Pettavino. —Keith W.
