Rosie and Penny's guide for dog owners South Lytchett Manor Caravan and Camping Park Food If your humans have forgotten your food, then you can get all your supplies at: • Our on-site shop which sells food, treats, toys and poo bags...and ice cream! • The Spar and the Co-op in Upton about 1.5miles away. • Lidl in Hamworthy - a five minute drive • Pets at Home in Poole - a ten minute drive • There is also some emergency grass we like to chow down on in the dog walk. Walks There are loads of walks around here! Just ask at reception or look in the “dog walks” file in the information hut. If you just want a short walk, then there is our own dog walk in the woods around the duck pond. For longer walks, we love Upton Country Park. Beaches During the winter, it’s great as you can swim, run and play everywhere but it gets a little more difficult in the summer. Have a look on the dog page of the website or in the information hutfor up to date information, but our favourite and nearest is Hamworthy Park as a pebble beach with a green field area and Sandbanks as a golden sandy meet up with pals! Dog Friendly Pubs Dorset is incredibly friendly to us pooches! Most pubs have at the least a dog friendly area or beer garden, and most have yummy treats on the bar! Examples are: • St Peter’s Finger (Lytchett Minster) • The Bakers Arms (Lytchett Minster) • The Jolly Sailor (Poole Quay) • The Bankes Armes (Studland near Old Harry Rock Walk) • Jazz Cafe (Sandbanks) Tourist attractions that allow dogs Check on the attractions website, but local outside destinations we find un include: • Tyneham Village • Poole Park • Corfe Castle and Kingston Lacy (National Trust) • Moors Valley Country Park • Upton Country Park Transport Dogs are allowed on buses for free... but not allowed to drive! Information to Parents of Students New to the School
INFORMATION TO PARENTS OF STUDENTS NEW TO THE SCHOOL At Lytchett Minster School we expect the highest standards of work, dress and behaviour, and the following notes are prepared to ensure that you are fully informed and can, hopefully, work with us to make your child’s secondary school education as successful as possible. 1. The School Day There are two sessions as follows: Morning session: 8.45 am to 12.30 pm Afternoon session: 1.25 pm to 3.25 pm Students should arrive before 8.45 am in time to be registered at 8.50 am. Students who arrive after 8.50 am or 1.25 pm will be recorded as late. 2. Leaving the premises If your child needs to leave school for any reason, such as a medical appointment, please send a note to the Head of House or Deputy Head of House, who can then inform his/her colleagues and issue your child with a pass to leave the school site early. A departure without notice would only be given rarely and at the discretion of the Head of House. 3. Absence Any absence must be covered on return by a note of explanation to your child’s tutor. A telephone call on the first day of absence (to the Pastoral Support Assistant after 8.30 am) is expected, particularly if the illness is likely to extend for several days. Absence for holidays during term time will be unauthorised except for very exceptional circumstances. Any such requests should be put in writing to the Headmaster.

Lytchett Minster School Admissions Policy 2020-2021 Policy Status/Review Programme Statutory Reviewed by SLT December 2018 Ratified by Governors January 2019 Effective from January 2019 Review scheduled for January 2020 Responsible person Headteacher Responsible Governor Committee Pastoral 1 General Principles Lytchett Minster School is an 11-18 mixed comprehensive school. The main principle of admission to Lytchett Minster School is to maintain the character of the school as a comprehensive school, providing for the needs of young people within the 11-18 age range living in our priority admission areas defined below and attending a named feeder school. We have a separate admission policy for the sixth form. Admission to our school is not dependent on any ‘voluntary’ contribution. The school will endeavour to provide places for students who live outside the priority admission areas and who do not attend a feeder school whose parents wish them to attend Lytchett Minster School provided they can be accommodated within the admission limits. Students will be admitted at the age of 11+ without reference to ability or aptitude using the criteria below. The admission number/limit into Year 7 will be 260. The school participates in the Local Authority co-ordinated scheme and all deadlines within that should be adhered to by applicants. As required by the School Admissions Code 2011, the school will give top priority to applications on behalf of children who are ‘looked after’. A ‘child who is looked after’ (CLA) is a child who is in the care of a local authority or being provided with accommodation by a local authority in the exercise of their social services functions.

Presentation from Good Energy’s Hugo House a) Mr House gave out some handouts of his presentation. A copy of the presentation is attached to these minutes. b) The Good Energy Company was set up by Juliet Davenport 15 years ago due to concern over climate change. The climate change problem is principally an energy problem and to solve this was to provide clean sources of energy. They are the only UK energy company that sources its power from renewables. Three years out of the last four been they have been voted top in the Which Customer Satisfaction survey. c) The presentation was about the proposed project at Woolbridge for a solar farm. d) Today 60% of energy used is imported. The solar farm would contribute 0.5% to Dorset’s renewable energy target of 15% by 2020.The current solar farm at Crossways contributes to the target. e) The solar farm would be built on 25 acres of agricultural land south of Monkey World this is well screened so would have a low visual impact on residential property and the land is not in the AONB or green belt. The solar farm would cover 10 acres, there would be avenues so there would be no shading from one panel to the next.

It looks at the population structure and provides information on the economic, housing and educational achievement of the Ward. Lytchett Minster and Upton West is one of the 13 Wards of Purbeck. It has an area of 1,073 hectares which represents 2.65% of the total area of Purbeck District. 1 Facilities The following map shows the main facilities of this Ward.
