  • Wolf Brothers Country Heart Album Free Download
wolf brothers country heart album free download The Blues Brothers [Original Soundtrack] Comic actors John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd received a lot of flak for their Blues Brothers shtick -- mostly for the albums, not 1980's beloved classic film. But they should be given credit for exposing many people -- including this reviewer -- to the music of blues and R&B veterans. The Blues Brothers soundtrack was released on Atlantic Records. On the surface this doesn't seem unusual, since the Blues Brothers' Atlantic debut, Briefcase Full of Blues, was a number one album; but the movie was released by Universal, and its parent company, MCA, passed on the soundtrack. The rollicking remake of the Spencer Davis Group's "Gimme Some Lovin'" was a hit, featuring an arrangement notable for the horn section that replaces Steve Winwood's rumbling organ work. Ray Charles has a good time with "Shake a Tail Feather," and he's helped out by Jake and Elwood Blues (Belushi and Aykroyd, respectively). The cover of Solomon Burke's "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love" is a lot of fun, thanks to the great overall rhythm and Elwood's lightning-fast stage rap, while James Brown and the Reverend James Cleveland Choir provide a blast of gospel music on "Old Landmark." Aretha Franklin's "Think" is explosive, and Cab Calloway's "Minnie the Moocher" is slyly irresistible. Charles, Brown, Franklin, and Calloway all have small roles in the film, yet so does John Lee Hooker, but he's not represented here. Wolf brothers country heart album free download. • Counting Crows, Hootie & the Blowfish Set to Open the 155 Great
Counting Crows, Hootie & the Blowfish set to open The 155 th Great Allentown Fair Dual bill of alt rock bands play on Fair’s Preview Night August 28 For Immediate Release Allentown, Pa .Counting Crows and Hootie & the Blowfish, two rock bands that took turns dominating the radio waves in the ‘90s, will open The 155 th Great Allentown Fair on August 28. Tickets for this show go on sale Saturday, June 2. They are $50 and $45. A newcomer to the Fair, Counting Crows’ recording period yielded such fan favorites as “Round Here,” “Mr. Jones,” “Rain King,” “A Long December” and a remake of Joni Mitchell’s song “Big Yellow Taxi.” In 2003, the band scored an Oscar nomination with “Accidentally in Love” from the Shrek 2 soundtrack. Regarded as an exceptional band that routinely alters its standard sets and song arrangements to keep each live show unique, the Crows’ vivacious performances are punctuated by lead singer Adam Duritz’s passionate vocals and engaging stories on stage. Last summer’s CD release, “New Amsterdam: Live at Heineken Music Hall 2003,” apparently reminded Crows’ followers of the band’s live performance magnetism. Paired with the Goo Goo Dolls, they hit the road selling an average of 10,000 tickets a night for one of the most successful tours in 2006. The Bay Area band is made up of Adam Duritz, David Immergluck, David Bryson, Jim Borgios, Charles Gullingham Dan Vickrey, and Millard Powers. 2 Hootie & the Blowfish exploded on the music scene in 1994 with its album “Cracked Rear View” going platinum 16 times.

  • The Southern Campaign of the American Revolution Invades SC Classrooms South Carolina’S Role in the Revolutionary War Comes to the Classroom in New Online Resources
JULY 2016-JUNE 2017 LOCAL CONTENT AND SERVICE REPORT TO THE COMMUNITY The Southern Campaign of the American Revolution Invades SC Classrooms South Carolina’s role in the Revolutionary War comes to the classroom in new online resources. The new offering, The Southern Campaign of the American Revolution, picks up the story after the fall of Charleston in 1780. After catastrophes at The Waxhaws and Camden, victories in battles and skirmishes such as Brattonsville, Musgrove Mill, Kings Mountain, and Cowpens expelled the British invaders and their loyalist friends, leading to surrender at Yorktown, Virginia. The Battle of Guilford Courthouse (North Carolina) and the siege of Ninety Six are also featured. The Southern Campaign was critical in determining the outcome of the American Revolutionary War, yet the South’s importance has been downplayed in most historical accounts to date. SCETV has previously produced a documentary for public television, The Mapping of Kosciusko’s Tunnel, about archaeological work at Ninety Six National Historic Site. Eight online educational modules are based around short video segments produced in a documentary style, consisting of historical reenactments, demonstrations, interviews with historians, period artifacts and music, artistic renderings, and maps. SCETV has also utilized the production as a training exercise for students who served as assistants, graphic artists and on-camera talent. Media for the series is on the web at SCETV’s KnowItAll.org classroom resources site, and teachers’ resources are at SCETV’s LearningWhy.org. Funding and support for the production is provided by The National Park Service, The Self Foundation, The George Washington Endowment Fund of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, The South Carolina State Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, and Dr.

Hootie’s Homegrown Roundup Back to School Basics August 11, 2010 Hootie & the Blowfish are teaming up once again with the Charleston County School District to host the fourth annual Hootie’s Homegrown Roundup: Back to School Basics, a back to school program providing children with school supplies and other services necessary to be well‐prepared to start the 2010/2011 school year. The Roundup will assist 1,300 high‐poverty elementary school students from four Charleston, SC elementary schools: Sanders Clyde, James Simons, Chicora, and Mary Ford Elementary. Hootie & the Blowfish, made up of Mark Bryan, Dean Felber, Darius Rucker, and Jim “Soni” Sonefeld, are one of the most successful music groups of all time selling over 25 million albums world‐wide. The band believes they have a responsibility to use their celebrity status to help improve the lives of those in need, especially children. This type of philanthropic spirit led the band to establishing Hootie’s Homegrown Roundup: Back to School Basics in 2007. As the name implies, Hootie & the Blowfish’s Roundup gather together their friends in the community to provide essential services and back‐to‐school supplies for these 1,300 local students. The Roundup provides haircuts, dental exams, eye exams, backpacks, shoes, t‐shirts, uniforms and basic school supplies. The Roundup has assisted over 3,000 students since its inception. Hootie & the Blowfish is currently looking for partners for this year’s Roundup to make 2010 even better by providing more services and school supplies than ever! The Roundup is in need of the following: ‐ Monetary donations or gift cards to be used for the purchase of school supplies and in conjunction with the needs of Hootie’s Homegrown Roundup ‐ Basic school supplies (pencils, rulers, paper, folders, spiral notebooks, composition notebooks, crayons, markers, scissors, erasers and glue sticks) ‐ Clothing (such as: school uniforms, underwear and socks) ‐ Any additional essential services that may be helpful to prepare kids for back to school.

  • DOE African American History
Dear students, educators and friends, For 130 years, AT&T has been committed to making a difference in the lives of the people and communities of South Carolina. One of the ways we try to do that is through the South Carolina African-American History Calendar. Now beginning its third decade, the Calendar was conceived simply as a tool to assist the State Department of Education in meeting the statutory requirement to include African-American history in the curriculum. Over the years, it has evolved into an online information resource used by thousands worldwide, spreading the benefits far beyond the classrooms of our state, and the unveiling of each year’s Calendar has become an eagerly-awaited community event. Our community partners have been invaluable in the Calendar’s success and we appreciate their continuing commitment and support. Throughout its history, the Calendar has remained true to its mission of recognizing and honoring the achievements of African- Americans with roots in South Carolina. In many ways, the evolution of the Calendar parallels the evolution of AT&T. While the Calendar has expanded beyond the printed version, AT&T has embraced new technologies that have opened the door to exciting products and services such as the iPhone and AT&T U-verseSM service. Competition has spurred our advancements in wireless, broadband and advanced digital entertainment, bringing choice and innovation to your doorstep. And that means everyone benefits. The individuals featured on the 2010 African-American History Calendar are shining role models for all our children. They have made a difference in their fields and their communities, excelling in areas as diverse as education, business, entertainment, sports, journalism and public service.
