Drew Avans led the charge offensively as he put Los Temblores up for good in the bottom of the second inning with a line-drive, two-run shot for his first career Cal League jack. Lancaster 6 at Modesto 8 DEVIN HOMBRE: With his first three-hit showing of the season on Wednesday night, Devin Mann is filling the stat sheet so far in Visalia 3 at Stockton 9 this three-game set with Lake Elsinore. Mann is 5-for-12 overall with four runs scored, two RBI, two walks and a double. BRYAN WARZEK: The southpaw, LHP Bryan Warzek, will start for a sixth time this season and his second time against Los Cadejos. So far in 2019, Warzek has recorded a bloated 5.82 ERA, allowing 11 earned runs across 17 innings with 23 strikeouts and TODAY a team-high 19 base-on-balls. The Clifton Park, NY native’s last appearance was against the Modesto Nuts on April 27th, where Los Temblores were victorious in a 4-3 final score. Warzek hurled four scoreless innings, surrendering three hits, three walks, with five Visalia at Stockton, 11:10 AM strikeouts in what was one of his better starts on the 2019 campaign. His last start against Lake Elsinore came in an 8-3 win on April Lake Elsinore at RANCHO CUCAMONGA, 7:05 PM 16th, where he tossed five hitless and scoreless innings, with four free-passes and a career-high eight punchouts. The Dodgers drafted San Jose at Inland Empire, 7:05 PM Warzek out of the University of New Orleans in the sixth round of the 2018 draft. Lancaster at Modesto, 7:05 PM RONALD BOLAÑOS: RHP Ronald Bolaños gets the call for Los Cadejos as the starting pitcher in Thursday night’s conest, making his fifth start of the year and his first start against Rancho Cucamonga in 2019. Bolaños is a familiar foe of this Rancho Cucamonga ballclub, tallying his sixth career start against Los Temblores. The Cuba native’s last appearance resulted in a no-decision on April TOMORROW 26th in an eventual 2-1 victory over the Inland Empire 66ers. Bolaños chucked six strong innings of one run baseball on three hits, Lake Elsinore at Lancaster, 6:35 PM tacking on six strikeouts and just one walk. INTRODUCTION On August 10, 2009, the tension between the Boston Red Sox and the Detroit Tigers began to escalate when a pitch hit Detroit Tigers‟ first baseman Miguel Cabrera while he was at bat in the top of the fourth inning.1 The beanballs2 continued later in the game when Boston‟s third baseman Kevin Youkilis was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the fourth inning and Detroit‟s Brandon Inge was hit in the top of the eighth inning.3 When the two teams met the next night, the discord boiled over.4 A pitch once again hit Cabrera, this time in the top of the first inning.5 In the bottom of the first inning, Tigers‟ pitcher Rick Porcello threw an inside pitch to the Red Sox‟ first baseman Victor Martinez.6 After nearly being hit by the pitch, Martinez “took a few menacing steps toward the * J.D.
