SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2019 >MISSION= ACCOMPLISHED TAKE CHARGE INDY TO RETURN TO WINSTAR IN 2020 WinStar Farm has initiated the process to return Take Charge Indy to the United States for the 2020 breeding season, the farm announced Saturday. The 10-year-old son of A.P. Indy out of MGISW, graded stakes producer and Broodmare of the Year Take Charge Lady (Dehere) stood in Korea this year, but would rank as the number one third-crop sire in the U.S. with more than $4.4 million in progeny earnings, and second on the cumulative third-crop sire list with $10.2 million in earnings. Currently, Take Charge Indy would be No. 31 on the North American General Sire List, behind only Malibu Moon as a leading son of influential sire of sires A.P. Indy. AEverywhere I go, breeders ask me about Take Charge Indy, especially since he=s the leading third-crop sire and No. 31 on the General Sire list,@ said Elliott Walden, president, CEO, and Spanish Mission (left) gets the bob in the Jockey Club Derby racing manager of WinStar. AWith a strong demand for proven Sarah K Andrew sires, we are excited to announce that Take Charge Indy will be returning to Kentucky for the 2020 breeding season.@ Cont. p17 by Alan Carasso Two weeks on from Code of Honor=s stirring victory in the IN TDN EUROPE TODAY GI Runhappy Travers S., Team Valor and Earle Mack=s Spanish HELLO YOUMAZAIN RISES IN BETFAIR SPRINT CUP Mission (Noble Mission {GB}) gave his sire another marquee Hello Youmzain (GB) collects his first Group 1 victory in success, dropping his head down on the wire when it mattered Saturday’s G1 Betfair Sprint Cup at Haydock. I dropped my right rein and even though I was using the crop, when you drop your reins in a race, it typically signals to the horse that the race is over,@ said Spencer. AI would've been mad with myself had we lost, but he got back on his game and finished strong. He was a very game horse today.@ Added Team Valor=s Barry Irwin: AWhen I bought him, the plan was to leave him in Europe this year and then bring him to America next year. Halfway through the season, I realized this is strictly a European horse and I told my guys, 'He's never coming home, but I'll bring him for this race.'@ The decision reaped rewards Saturday on Long Island.
