POSITIONS HELD AND AWARDS RECEIVED UPON COMPLETION OF DOCTORAL STUDIES 2017 Honored as member to the Board of Trustees of the Center for Migration Studies 2016 Awarded Emeritus Professor and Researcher by El Colegio de la Frontera Norte 2014 On December 18, 2014 Dr. Omar de la Torre as Chief of the Immigration Policy Unit, announced the decision by the Ministry of the Interior of Mexico with expressed recognition of the Advisory Council of Immigration Policy, the decision to create the Jorge A. Bustamante Annual Award granted to the best research on International Migrations and Human Rights. This decision was made in recognition to the important participation of Dr. Jorge A.
