MSA Compliant Tobacco Manufacturers Updated May 18, 2021
The cigarette manufacturers and their associated brands listed below have been determined to be in compliance with Alaska Statute 45.53.020. In order for cigarettes to be sold in Alaska, the manufacturer must be in compliance with AS 45.53.020 and the brand and style must be certified as fire safe under AS 18.74.010 (see the Directory of Fire Safe Certified Brand Styles). Roll-your-own brands may be sold in Alaska if the manufacturer is in compliance with AS 45.53.020. Cigarettes and roll-your-own that do not meet the above criteria cannot be sold in Alaska and are contraband and subject to seizure and destruction. Violations of AS 45.53.020 may also be punished by revocation of a license issued under AS 43.50.010, 43.50.035, or 43.50.320 and imposition of civil and criminal penalties. The brands listed below include all variations, types, and sizes (e.g. menthol, king, and regular). Manufacturer type provides that the company is both a participating manufacturer (PM) and signatory to the Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement and all amendments to that agreement or a non-participating manufacturer (NPM) in full compliance with AS 45.43.
