Registration includes admissions to all sessions, refreshments, welcome reception, official tour and Banquet. 2019 AABI The 25th General Assembly & 2019 EPiC ABOUT EPiC Elevator Pitch Competition, “EPiC” in short, is a fun-filled international start-up event organised by Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP). 100 start-ups will be selected to pitch their ideas in a 60-second elevator ride at the International Commerce Centre (ICC), the most iconic skyscraper in Hong Kong. They will compete for the chance to win an investment prize of not less than US$150,000! There were one hundred high potential start-ups from 24 economies took part in the Elevator Pitch Competition 2018 (EPiC) last year. The global signature start-up event drew a record high number of 591 applications, including both local and international start-ups. -

For meeting on 19 October 2013 Paper Ref: CSD/2/2013 Commission on Strategic Development Young People – Education, Employment and Development Opportunities (Follow-up Discussion) Introduction The Commission on Strategic Development (CSD) discussed the topic “Youth – Education, Employment and Development Opportunities” (Paper Ref: CSD/1/2013) at the last meeting held on 14 September 2013. At the end of the meeting, the Chairman suggested that the discussion should continue at a meeting to be convened in a few weeks’ time. Subsequent to the meeting, Members were invited to submit their views on: • Education and jobs available to young people • Linkage between education and vocation • Overseas (including the Mainland) exposure of young people through work or study • Student loans for students of tertiary education institutions from CSSA families • Dissemination of education and vocational information to young people via social media Submissions from Members and information provided by bureaux 2. Part I Criminal implication of services provided by sex workers Is it legal to be a sex worker in Hong Kong? Prostitution is legal in Hong Kong, but almost everything related to prostitution is not. An individual can be fined up to $10,000 or imprisoned for up to 10 years (although 2 months is the standard for soliciting), depending on the offence. It is illegal: 1. to commit an 'immoral act' including • initiating conversation with a customer or using body language, an expression or attire to signal availability to customer • refer to the services available and price • perform sexual services for commercial gain. 2. to rent out, manage or assist in the management of an establishment for the purpose of prostitution, or operate a massage establishment without a licence. 3. to let premises be used for the purpose of an establishment for the purposes of prostitution. 4. to knowingly live off the earnings of others gained through prostitution or control an individual for the purpose of prostitution, including human trafficking for that purpose. 5. to advertise prostitution services. -
