04 Part Two Chapter 4-5 Everett
PART TWO. "So what are you doing now?" "Well the school of course." "You mean youre still there?" "Well of course. I will always be there as long as there are students." (Jacques Lecoq, in a letter to alumni, 1998). 79 CHAPTER FOUR INTRODUCTION TO PART TWO. The preceding chapters have been principally concerned with detailing the research matrix which has served as a means of mapping the influence of the Lecoq school on Australian theatre. I have attempted to situate the research process in a particular theoretical context, adopting Alun Munslow's concept of `deconstructionise history as a model. The terms `diaspora' and 'leavening' have been deployed as metaphorical frameworks for engaging with the operations of the word 'influence' as it relates specifically to the present study. An interpretive framework has been constructed using four key elements or features of the Lecoq pedagogy which have functioned as reference points in terms of data collection, analysis and interpretation. These are: creation of original performance material; use of improvisation; a movement-based approach to performance; use of a repertoire of performance styles. These elements or `mapping co-ordinates' have been used as focal points during the interviewing process and have served as reference points for analysis of the interview material and organisation of the narrative presentation. The remainder of the thesis constitutes the narrative interpretation of the primary and secondary source material. This chapter aims to provide a general overview of, and introduction to the research findings. I will firstly outline a demographic profile of Lecoq alumni in Australia. Secondly I will situate the work of alumni, and the influence of their work on Australian theatre within a broader socio-cultural, historical context. -

In tracing and bringing into focus the main currents of thought and critical studies of twenty-five years of dramatic writings, the book demonstrates not only the consistently high quality of Currency publications, but also the debt of Australian drama to the determined efforts of Curren cy's directors, Katharine Brisbane and Philip Parsons. Publishing does not create good literature, but it influences it in several ways. Availability of play texts means critical studies and research, and a continuous debate; it means teaching of the texts in secondary schools and tertiary institutions, and an increased awareness on the part of the general public. Currency Press published about ninety Australian plays in the last decade, a remark able achievement considering the financial uncertainties of publishing exclusively in an art form which is still considered the step-child of Australian literature. -

FREE EYES OF THE STORM PDF Jeff Smith,Steve Hamaker | 174 pages | 09 Sep 2011 | Scholastic US | 9780439706384 | English | New York, NY, United States The Eye of the Storm (novel) - Wikipedia From the thesis abstract: "Through the maturation of the national network of fusion centers, processes and capabilities originally designed to detect and thwart terrorist attacks are now applied to disaster responses. The fusion process, which involves the synthesis and analysis of streams of data, can create incident specific intelligence. The sharing of this information can enhance the operating picture that is critical to key decision makers and the discipline of emergency management. This thesis examined three case studies of fusion center disaster responses Eyes of the Storm a collaborative-based analytical framework. The resulting analysis of the case studies identified the crucial role played by fusion centers in responding to disaster events in a collaborative effort Eyes of the Storm emergency operations centers. This thesis concludes Eyes of the Storm fusion centers offer the greatest impact through enabling information sharing throughout the response phase. The specific benefits of the sharing of information directly influence executive briefings and the deployment of resources. This thesis also modeled a collaborative response. The research determined that the depth and breadth of these relationships involving cooperative responses must be proportionate to the incident and include a level of redundancy. Through a system design model, overconnectivity through efficiency was shown to increase the likelihood of fracturing cooperative relationships. Naval Postgraduate School U.
