The is a local government area with City status in , Western . With 17kms of pristine coastline, more than 300 parks and reserves, an award-winning marina, some of Perth’s best beaches and leading retail destinations, there is something for everyone in the City of Joondalup. The City also boasts a range of cultural spaces including galleries, exhibition spaces, performing arts spaces and studios for lease, rent or hire.

This guide has been developed as a starting point to help you find the space you are looking for. Please note some of the venues contained in this database are privately owned and operated and further information will need to be obtained directly with the venue.

1 Cultural Sites

Luisini Winery The Luisini Winery site consists of the surviving 1929 Lakeway Drive, Kingsley concrete block with corrugated galvanised roof, winery building, other structures and features associated with Private the former operation of the winery, together with the remaining introduced vegetation, natural vegetation and landscape. The site is a listed heritage site and is managed by the National Trust.

Duffy House Also known colloquially as ‘Frederick Duffy House’ or 108 Duffy Terrace, Woodvale ‘Jack Duffy House’, this site located in Woodvale, comprising a single storey iron, brick and limestone City of Joondalup Venue Cottage (1911-1913), and a ruinous limestone Dairy Building (1925) sits in an open rural setting between Beenyup Swamp and Lake Goollelal. It has cultural heritage significance because it is representative of the development of the market gardening and dairying industries in in the early 20th century and it retains much of its original open wetland setting within . This is becoming less common in Western Australia due to increased urbanisation.

2 Galaxy Drive-In The Galaxy Drive-In is the only place in metropolitan Goollelal Drive, Perth that you can still enjoy a retro drive-in experience corner Hocking Road, Kingsley with family.

Edith Cowan University – The ECU campus in Joondalup features a selection of Sculpture Park sculptures on display from international artist Rodney 270 , Joondalup Glick, Ron Gomboc and Nigel Helyer.

Peter Cowan Writers Centre Now in its 22nd year, the Peter Cowan Writers Centre House provides support and development for emerging and 270 Joondalup Drive, Joondalup established creative writers within the northern suburbs of Perth. It has continued to grow and offer a range of writing opportunities for its membership and the wider writing community. Nestled in the Pines near the lake, the house was transported to the ‘heart’ of the Joondalup campus in 1997, and refurbished in late 2019. Members and visitors can explore the Peter Cowan Library Collection located within.

3 – The Edith Cowan University Art Collection is a dynamic, Art Collection constantly evolving reflection of the best in Australian and 270 Joondalup Drive, Joondalup Western Australian art. It is built on a strong philosophical commitment to integrating art into the everyday experience of students, staff and the wider community and fostering and promoting local art practice.

The University achieves these aims by exhibiting works in public spaces across its three campuses, making it one of Australia’s most accessible collections; acquiring works by donation, gift and purchase; using the collection as a teaching resource; researching and organising touring exhibitions; and commissioning site specific artworks.

Art Affaire Gallery Art Affaire showroom located at Hillarys Boat Harbour Shop 67, Sorrento Quay, Hillarys offers a range of art products sourced from local and international artists.

Edith Cowan University – Computer ECU e-Labs are an ideal place to finish assignments, labs and wireless internet carry out research and get online access to help with 270 Joondalup Drive, Joondalup your studies. Joondalup Resort Nestled in natural bushland just 25 minutes north of Country Club Boulevard, Connolly Perth CBD and five minutes from WA’s Sunset Coast, Joondalup Resort offers an oasis of relaxation, comfort and state of the art facilities.

HBF Arena HBF Arena is a multi-purpose sports complex located in Kennedya Drive, Joondalup Joondalup on 35ha of parkland. Whether you are organising a breakfast, cocktail party, training seminar, trade show, exhibition or large dinner, the Arena has the function room or space to suit.

9 Sir James McCusker Park A beautiful park located in Iluka that is a popular location for wedding ceremonies, movie nights and more with an 6 Silver Sands Drive, Iluka amphitheater for guests to assemble in, water features and wooden walkways perfect for photography. There are plenty of shady trees, grassy, open areas with water features including three lakes, small rocky waterfalls and fountains and a gazebo.

Hillarys Boat Harbour Since opening in 1988, Hillarys Boat Harbour has been 86 Southside Drive, Hillarys Perth’s Premier Recreational Destination – offering a wide range of unique experiences appealing to WA residents and overseas visitors alike. The iconic Western Australian property is home to the elite Hillarys Yacht Club; AQWA – The Aquarium of Western Australia; a bustling retail shopping precinct and a wide range of beautifully groomed public parklands.

10 Whitford Nodes Hillarys Beach Park is being transformed into the Whitfords Nodes Health and Wellbeing Hub. Recently the Whitfords Avenue, Hillarys City has completed the first stage of construction. These works include a large shaded public playground for the enjoyment of children aged between two and 12 years old, undercover picnic settings, benches and barbecues, new tree planting, an improved irrigation system, drink fountains and universal access footpaths. The playground includes swings, combination and climbing units, nature play elements, sand play and all-abilities play.

Central Park Central Park contains nearly six hectares of remnant bushland and public parklands comprising well-lit 187 Grand Boulevard Joondalup pathways and paved areas, grassed open spaces, limestone walls, lakes and water features. A lengthy boardwalk runs along the end of the pond from Grand Boulevard to the North Metropolitan TAFE campus.

AQWA AQWA is owned and operated by Coral World 91 Southside Drive, Hillarys International, a privately-owned company boasting a range aquariums around the world.

11 Exhibition Locations Many local art groups use local City-owned Community Facilities for their annual exhibitions or fetes to sell artwork. There are 35 venues available for hire throughout the City, providing a large choice for exhibitions or art events. The facilities range in size and functionality from small meeting rooms to large halls capable of catering for up to 300 people, and range in price from $22.00 to $58.00 per hour dependant on the facility of choice. In addition to the City's community facilities, there are many local surf lifesaving clubs and shopping precincts that could host an exhibition in vacant tenancies or have function rooms available for hire.
