FINANCIAL REPORTS PRIVATE GIVING: 7/1/17-6/30/18 GIFTS PAID PLUS NEW PLEDGES AND PLANNED GIFTS 2 3 THANK YOU YOUR GIFTS CHANGE LIVES The WVU Foundation prioritizes the enrichment of the lives touched by West Virginia University and the Health Sciences Center. Your private philanthropic efforts impact the lives of those across West Virginia and beyond, each and every day. But without dedicated individuals like you, efforts to move West Virginia forward as a leader in research, education and patient care would not be possible. In 2012, the WVU Foundation publicly launched A State of Minds: The Campaign for West Virginia’s University, and embarked on a journey to raise $750 million. Because of generous supporters like you, that goal was surpassed and stakes were raised higher in 2014 when a new goal of $1 billion was announced. Not only was the $1 billion goal met, but your contributions to the Health Sciences Center made up nearly $314,449,330 of that goal. Because of your exceptional commitment, great strides have been made. From supporting students on their academic endeavors to recruiting the best and brightest physicians, from providing the resources which support our infrastructure to helping us earn an R1 research classification—your efforts have paved the way in advancing the future of health in our great state. While we have evolved greatly over these past years, we must fiercely continue to move forward, ensuring the health of every West Virginian is prioritized, but the opportunity that we have had—and continue to have—as an institution to move forward did not come without the hard work and philanthropic dedication of generous supporters like you. YOU HAVE CHANGED THE OUTLOOK OF HEALTH IN WEST VIRGINIA, AND CONTINUE TO DO SO. YOUR GIFTS CHANGE LIVES, AND FOR THAT, WE THANK YOU. 5 These open endowment funds were established between July 1, 2017, and June 30, 2018.
