Immediate Impact 2008-09 Ragin’ Cajuns Leaders UL welcomed nine new players to the 2008-09 roster and a pair of newcomers have made an immediate impact for the Ragin’ Cajuns – Alexis Green and Mercedes Johnson. Heading into the week, the duo Points rank No. 1/No. 2 in points, scoring average, free throw attempts, free throws made and steals. The tandem Alexis Green 208 Mercedes Johnson 166 also rank in the Top 5 in field goals attempts, field goals made, field goal percentage, three pointers D’Mya Clay 98 attempted, three pointers made, three point field goal percentage, free throw percentage, rebounds, Whitney Dunlap 86 offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds, rebounding average, assists, blocked shots and minutes. Jasmine Barnes 68 Green Named All-Tournament Scoring Average Alexis Green 13.9 Alexis Green has been a fundamental element for the Ragin’ Cajuns women’s basketball team. Her Mercedes Johnson 11.9 efforts were rewarded as she was named to the 2008 Blazer Invitational All-Tournament Team. Green Whitney Dunlap 7.2 helped the Cajuns to a 1-1 finish in the tournament. In the Cajuns’ victory against Alabama State, she Jasmine Barnes 6.8 netted nine points to go along with a season-best 15 rebounds. A total of 16 teams -- eight men and eight Steals women -- will qualify to travel to Hot Springs, Arkansas.
