Download Pedigree Notes So You Think High Chaparral’s sire Sadler’s Wells is a member of the GOODY TWO SHOES family. His brother FAIRY KING and three-quarter brother NUREYEV are always desirable reinforcements for Sadler’s Wells and are already working with So You Think. Other members which would enhance this line include NORTHERN METEOR, VAL DE LOIR, RIDAN, THATCHING, GEIGER COUNTER, YEATS, PERUGINO, REFORM and OPEN DAY. So You Think’s Group 2 winner Gold Rush is out of a Nureyev line mare, as is Group 3 winner Think Bleue, while Listed winners Global Thinking and So Si Bon carry Nureyev in other sectors of their dams’ pedigrees. Group 3 winner Higher Ground is out of an ENCOSTA DE LAGO (by Fairy King) mare. Sadler’s Wells is bred on a Nearctic/Hail To Reason cross, a pattern which is desirably reversed in the pedigree of RED RANSOM. Tights, damsire of So You Think, is by Nijinsky II. He is a key member of the very influential TORPENHOW family. Other family members such as REDOUTE’S CHOICE, AL MAHER,THE MINSTREL, HURRICANE SKY, XAAR, UMATILLA, MASTERCLASS, NEW REGENT, EL GRAN SENOR, TRY MY BEST (sire of LAST TYCOON), SPINNING WORLD and GIELGUD in mares will be very well received. So You Think’s Group 1 winners D’Argento and Inference, and Listed winner Fasika are out of Redoute’s Choice mares; Listed winner Quick Thinker is out of an Al Maher mare; and Listed winner Global Thinking’s second damsire is Spinning World, demonstrating that So You Think is responding very well to this family reinforcement. Darshaan, damsire of High Chaparral, is a FRIZETTE family member. He can be reinforced by the inclusion of horses such as MR. PROSPECTOR, SING SING, DJEDDAH, ROAN ROCKET, GREGORIAN, FERDINAND, BALDRIC II, LOMOND and SEATTLE SLEW in mares’ pedigrees. Of the above, the Mr. Prospector sire line is particularly appealing. Look for broodmare sires such as HUSSONET, RHYTHM, KINGMAMBO, STRAIGHT STRIKE, SMART STRIKE, ELUSIVE QUALITY, MACHIAVELLIAN, WOODMAN, MISWAKI (sire of UMATILLA), GEIGER COUNTER, BELLOTTO, EL MOXIE, JADE ROBBERY, Distorted Humor, END SWEEP, INFLATE, VETTORI, THUNDER GULCH, FAPPIANO and SECRET SAVINGS. So You Think has already produced stakes winners by Hussonet and Smart Strike. Kris, the second damsire of High Chaparral, is a full brother to KEEN and DIESIS. High Chaparral’s Group 1 winning daughter Wrote carries another line to Kris. The duplication of Rockefella in So You Think begs the introduction of fellow LADY SUSAN family members, DANZIG and BLETCHINGLY. Eight of So You Think’s 18 stakes winners carry Danzig, via DANEHILL and BIANCONI. So You Think’s Group 1 winner La Bella Diosa carries more Rockefella through her damsire STAR WAY. Bletchingly (above) is most easily sourced via CANNY LAD, who appears in the pedigrees of four of So You Think’s 18 stakes winners to-date. Three are via damsire REDOUTE’S CHOICE and one has Canny Lad as his second damsire. Canny Lad is also a representative of the STAR KINGDOM line. Other representatives of this line include LUSKIN STAR, MARSCAY, BLETCHINGLY, KENNY’S BEST PAL, FINAL CARD, BLAZING SWORD, HULA CHIEF, ZEPHYR BAY, SHIFNAL and TODMAN. Group 2 winner Sopressa is out of a WEASEL CLAUSE (Marscay) mare, while Group 3 winner Heavenly Thought is out of a ST COVET (Luskin Star line) mare. Close relations to Northern Dancer (who is duplicated in So You Think) such as MACHIAVELLIAN, DANEHILL, EL MOXIE, EXIT TO NOWHERE, ORPEN and HALO are desirable. Halo can be sourced via damsires such as DON’T SAY HALO, FUJI KISEKI, MORE THAN READY and SUNDAY SILENCE. High Chaparral’s dual Group 1 winner Ace High has Sunday Silence as his second damsire. The SIR TRISTRAM line is a highly successful cross for So You Think’s sire High Chaparral, particularly through his son ZABEEL. So You Think has two stakes winners whose dams carry Zabeel, while Group 1 winner La Bella Diosa’s second damsire is GROSVENOR (by Sir Tristram). Mares carrying Sir Tristram’s other descendants such as LONHRO, PIERRO, KAAPSTAD, SOVEREIGN RED, MARAUDING, DON EDUARDO, MILITARY PLUME, SAVABEEL, OCTAGONAL and DR. GRACE are also desirable. .

Hardiman 2005 ABSTRACT This dissertation marks the first synthetic and contextual analysis of domestic sculpture for the whole of the Hellenistic period (323 BCE – 31 BCE). Prior to this study, Hellenistic domestic sculpture had been examined from a broadly literary perspective or had been the focus of smaller regional or site-specific studies. Rather than taking any one approach, this dissertation examines both the literary testimonia and the material record in order to develop as full a picture as possible for the location, function and meaning(s) of these pieces. The study begins with a reconsideration of the literary evidence. The testimonia deal chiefly with the residences of the Hellenistic kings and their conspicuous displays of wealth in the most public rooms in the home, namely courtyards and dining rooms. Following this, the material evidence from the Greek mainland and Asia Minor is considered. The general evidence supports the literary testimonia’s location for these sculptures. In addition, several individual examples offer insights into the sophistication of domestic decorative programs among the Greeks, something usually associated with the Romans.
