Would the sixth grade team change anything? Absolutely. There are many ideas for refinement and improvement for next year. But the excitement is conta- gious, and they are already planning a special event in each subject area over the course of the year. Bravo!! HISTORIANS IN SPANISH CLASS — Fifth graders at Seabrook Middle School have been exploring the Mayan Indians. They learned during the course of their study that the Mayans were prolific writ- ers and wrote many books, called “codices.” While the Spanish destroyed most of the Mayan codices, a few survive today and can be found in museums throughout Europe. As a culminating activity, each fifth grader made a codex of their own and filled it with information about the Mayan Indians. Here, Spanish teacher Denise Morrill listens as Abbie Morton shares her codex. — Atlantic News Courtesy Photo This Page © 2004 Connelly Communications, LLC, PO Box 592 Hampton, NH 03843- Contributed items and logos are © and ™ their respective owners Unauthorized 21 reproduction of this page or its contents for republication in whole or in part is strictly prohibited • For permission, call (603) 926-4557 • AN-Mark 9A-ODD- Rev 12-16-2004 ATLANTICNEWS.COM |SEACOAST ENTERTAINMENT &ARTS VOL 32, NO 7 | FEBRUARY 24, 2006 | ATLANTIC NEWS | PAGE 5 SEA OPEN YEAR ROUND LIVE GREYHOUND RACING May through September (Call for post times) SIMULCASTING Thoroughbred, Harness and Greyhound Racing from tracks around the country 7 Days and Nignts a week On Route 107 off I-95 at Exit 1 in Seabrook, NH SEABROOK REWARDS Earn a point for every dollar you wager, live or simulcast!
