The City Council was present with Councilmember Sarega, Councilmember De Ruse, Councilmember Jones, Mayor Pro Tem Deal, and Mayor Mowles. The following staff members were present: City Manager Jeff Boynton, City Attorney James Markman, and Deputy City Manager/City Clerk Anne Haraksin. PUBLIC COMMENT Mr. Hal Malkin provided information on the Friends of the La Mirada Library. He said the Friends of the La Mirada Library are interested in providing input and feedback on the proposed La Mirada Library renovation cooperative project. REVIEW AND DISCUSSION LIBRARY RENOVATION COOPERATIVE PROJECT City Manager Boynton introduced the item. Deputy City Manager Haraksin introduced Los Angeles County Librarian representatives Margaret Donnellan Todd and Fred Hungerford. Deputy City Manager Haraksin provided information on the La Mirada Library renovation cooperative project. She said as part of Supervisor Don Knabe' s " Operation Libraries" project, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is investing $ 45 million into the restoration of County libraries in the Fourth Supervisorial District. She said some $ 4 million has been allocated to renovate the La Mirada Library. She said City staff has been working with County staff to finalize a Lease Agreement between the City and County and an Agreement for Architectural and Engineering Services. Deputy City Manager Haraksin said prior to the beginning of the renovation, design meetings would be held with library stakeholders.
