THE NINE FIRST FRIDAYS - Devotion to the Sacred Heart in 1675, Jesus Appeared to St THE NINE FIRST FRIDAYS - Devotion to the Sacred Heart In 1675, Jesus appeared to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque and promised that whoever will honor His Most Sacred Heart by receiving Holy Communion on 9 consecutive FIRST FRIDAYS, they would receive the 12 GREAT PROMISES! On FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5th at ASSUMPTION CHURCH, located in Broadview Heights, we will have an opportunity once again to console the Sacred Heart of Jesus as we continue with the FIRST FRIDAY of the month SPECIAL DEVOTIONS scheduled at 3:00pm. The practice of this devotion is to inflame our hearts with a fervent love for Jesus & to make reparation for our sins & those of the whole world. Please join us… 8:30 am MASS & EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT IMMEDIATELY AFTER MASS IN CHURCH 2:30 pm ROSARY 3:00 pm CHAPLET OF DIVINE MERCY; SPECIAL DEVOTIONS TO THE SACRED HEART; & BENEDICTION THE 12 GREAT PROMISES: 1. I will give them all the graces necessary for their state of life. 2. I will establish peace in their families. 3. I will console them in all their troubles. 4. They will find in My Heart a secure refuge during life and especially at the hour of death. 5. I will pour abundant blessings on all their undertakings. 6. Sinners will find in My Heart an infinite ocean of mercy. 7. Lukewarm souls will grow fervent. 8. Fervent souls will quickly rise to high perfection. 9. I will bless every place where a picture of My Sacred Heart will be set up and honored. 10. I will give to priests the power to touch the most hardened hearts. 11. Those who will promote this devotion will have their names eternally written in My Heart. 12. *I promise in the excessive mercy of My Heart that My all-powerful Love will grant to all those who will receive Holy Communion (in the state of grace) on the First Friday for 9 consecutive months, the grace of final repentance: they will not die in My disgrace, nor without receiving the Sacraments. My Divine Heart will be their safe refuge in that last moment. *In the 12th Promise, our Lord asks us to receive Him in Holy Communion in a state of grace on the First Friday of each of the 9 consecutive months, a FIRST FRIDAY DEVOTION. If you have any grave or serious sins on your soul, it is important to have them absolved in the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) first. With the FIRST FRIDAY DEVOTION, the Church also grants a Plenary Indulgence for each First Friday observed. Sacred Heart of Jesus, Thy Kingdom Come through Mary! .

If you are not able to join us in church for the novena, please join us at home using the following prayers. Following the prayers are Scripture verses that you can use as meditations for each of the Mysteries of the Rosary. Prayer for Our Country Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, patroness of the United States, please intercede for our country during the coming elections. Since you are the ever Virgin Mary and Mother of the one true God, obtain for us from the Most Holy Trinity a president and other elected officials that will be a people of God who will help the United States become a country of great purity and high morality, a country that will uphold family, life and influence other countries throughout the world to love God above all, to serve Him and to live for Him alone. Our Sweet Mother, intercede for us now, as we beg for the end of abortion in our country and for the uprising of a culture of life. Most holy and Immaculate Virgin, Mother of Jesus and our loving Mother, we pray for your intercession to protect us and all people from hatred and discord, and direct our hearts into the ways of peace and justice which your Son taught and exemplified. O Dear Mother, time and again you have given us your gracious assistance and thus we humbly and gratefully acknowledge you as Queen of America. The Miraculous Medal Novena Leader: Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and kindle in them the fire of your love.

I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through which graces flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity. Everything that exists has come forth from the very depths of My most tender mercy. Every soul in its relation to Me will contemplate My love and mercy throughout eternity. The Feast of Mercy emerged from My very depths of tenderness. It is My desire that it be solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter.
