The level of interested primary school parents was very high, but the highlights of the evening were the numerous Parents and Grandparents who were being shown around the school but the Year 6 pupils eager to show what they had done and where they had been during their three day transition day programme. Mr Jamie Forman, Assistant Headteacher and Head of Transition, gave a presentation during the evening with its emphasis on the links to the local primary schools, hard work and examples of all the work achieved during the three days of transition. Mrs Ferron-Evans, Headteacher, said: ‘I am really pleased with how our Celebration Evening went. The level of interest shown in our school has been fantastic and I now looked forward to meeting our entire new intake again. ‘The website and app. reflect the historic links we have to the area and I’ve used this to show our strong community focus and how successful our students have been over time. I was delighted to be able to speak to so many parents and grandparents face to face during the evening; it really was a pleasure and I would like to thank everyone for their extremely positive comments on the school’. He also provided straightforward answers to the several questions put to him; one of which concerned the theft of garden tools and the probability of these being sold at car boot fairs. Evidently the thieves put all these stolen items into one van and transport them to another area where they are then mixed with others and later distributed for sale. The only way then, to identify a stolen object, is if it has been specially marked in some way and photographed. With regard to the scams relating to computer and on-line fraud, that these should be reported directly to the National Crime Agency as soon as they occur. Darren Whibberley also mentioned that there is a mapping of the generations being carried out throughout the whole of Wrexham so that the 18-20 year olds can be identified, listened to and supported as one of the priorities. He also mentioned that with regard to serious crime figures Ruabon comes way down the list! 4 Ruabon Bowling Club Maes-y Llan Lane, Ruabon Match Results 2019 Oswestry and District Bowling League: Division Three - Wednesday 3rd July: Ruabon A (9) V.
