Her most recent film projects include personal make-up and design for Nicole Kidman on Stoker and Hemingway and Gellhorn which earned Kyra an Emmy nomination. Kyra's Hollywood clientele include Naomi Watts, Jodie Foster, Uma Thurman Amy Adams and Kristen Wiig. Kyra began her career in the fashion industry working on many of the prestigious New York fashion shows for top designers such as Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors and Betsey Johnson. Kyra's signature style focuses on bone structure and a natural clean make-up, which has endeared her to some of Hollywood's biggest superstars. Kyra's film career began in New York in the mid 90's working on independent films. While filming Chelsea Walls and Tape, Kyra started working with Uma Thurman, which developed into a 9-year collaboration. She went on to personally design Thurman's make-up for Hysterical Blindness, The Producers and Kill Bill, among others. 3 Other film credits include; Julie & Julia as personal make-up for Amy Adams; The Brave One and Inside Man as personal make-up for Jodie Foster; Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus as personal make-up for Nicole Kidman; and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind as department head and personal make-up for Kirsten Dunst. For Television, Panchenko created the look for Kim Cattrall as the unforgettable character 'Samantha Jones' in the iconic television series; Sex and the City. This work earned her the Hollywood Make-Up and Hair Stylist Guild Award for Best Contemporary Make-Up as well as an Emmy nomination. Additionally, she was Cattrall’s personal make- up artist for Sex and the City; The Movie, I and II, and The Ghost Writer for director Roman Polanski. Panchenko’s editorial work includes Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, In Style, and Allure, where she has collaborated with internationally renowned photographers who include Peter Lindbergh, Patrick Demarchelier, Terry Richard and Brigitte Lacombe Panchenko is based in New York City where she lives with her husband and son. She continues to enjoy her creative collaboration with both actors and directors to bring characters to life. 4.

Ryan May 2021 Examining Committee Members: Jan Fernback, Advisory Chair, Media and Communication Nancy Morris, Media and Communication Fabienne Darling-Wolf, Media and Communication Ron Becker, External Member, Miami University ABSTRACT This study considers the case of representation of transgender people and issues on American fictional television from 2004 to 2014, a period which represents a steady surge in transgender television characters relative to what came before, and prefigures a more recent burgeoning of transgender characters since 2014. The study thus positions the period of analysis as an historical period in the changing representation of transgender characters. A discourse analysis is employed that not only assesses the way that transgender characters have been represented, but contextualizes American fictional television depictions of transgender people within the broader sociopolitical landscape in which those depictions have emerged and which they likely inform. Television representations and the social milieu in which they are situated are considered as parallel, mutually informing discourses, including the ways in which those representations have been engaged discursively through reviews, news coverage and, in some cases, blogs. ii To Desmond, Oonagh and Eamonn For everything.     Cast Biographies RILEY KEOUGH (Christine Reade) Riley Keough, 26, is one of Hollywood’s rising stars. At the age of 12, she appeared in her first campaign for Tommy Hilfiger and at the age of 15 she ignited a media firestorm when she walked the runway for Christian Dior. From a young age, Riley wanted to explore her talents within the film industry, and by the age of 19 she dedicated herself to developing her acting craft for the camera. In 2010, she made her big-screen debut as Marie Currie in The Runaways starring opposite Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning. People took notice; shortly thereafter, she starred alongside Orlando Bloom in The Good Doctor, directed by Lance Daly. Riley’s memorable work in the film, which premiered at the Tribeca film festival in 2010, earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Milan International Film Festival in 2012. Riley’s talents landed her a title-lead as Jack in Bradley Rust Gray’s werewolf flick Jack and Diane. She also appeared alongside Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey in Magic Mike, directed by Steven Soderbergh, which grossed nearly $167 million worldwide. Further in 2011, she completed work on director Nick Cassavetes’ film Yellow, starring alongside Sienna Miller, Melanie Griffith and Ray Liota, as well as the Xan Cassavetes film Kiss of the Damned. As her camera talent evolves alongside her creative growth, so do the roles she is meant to play.
