On Thursday 25 June, we will officially launch 140 with 140 ALIVE, a free to the public event celebrating the DESTINA- culmination of the re-imagining of 140. 140 ALIVE will see one day only retailer offers, plus live entertainment, including DJ’s, local musical talent and two headline acts from 4 -10pm, live , food trucks and an array of experiential activities. Another 140 implant from the East Coast is Phibs - everyone FROM who knows the /street art scene in Australia knows Phibs. There’s a prolific amount of stuff on public walls in Melbourne, and further afield, and he’s scored himself some sweet spots in the National Gallery of Australia’s permanent collection, too. Phibs’ work fuses old school graffiti tagging with an intricate cutback technique - thematically, it presents a unique blend of symbolism, multiculturalism and mythology - Phibs especially likes drawing from Aztec and Mayan mythology in his work. Spot his signature characters on Mitchell Lane, just past The Coffee Club.
