Their lakeside beauty and Victorian architecture set the tone. Unique shops, where you’re often greeted by the owner, will bring a smile. And a relaxed pace presents a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. While they have much in common, each of our communities also has its own distinct personality. We hope you get a chance to visit them all while you’re here. Petoskey is known for its beautiful setting along Little Traverse Bay and its charming Gaslight Shopping District. You’ll also find never-ending recreation. Name an outdoor activity, you’ll find it here. The question is never what to do, it’s what to do next. COMMUNITIES Harbor Springs is a place where time slows down, inviting you to enjoy everything from swimming to dining, shopping to biking. The picture-perfect downtown is great for relaxing and watching boats in the harbor. The famous Tunnel of Trees always delights. 9 Boyne City wraps around Lake Charlevoix - voted second best lake in America by the readers of USA Today. There are no strip malls here. Just a great mix of independently owned shops and restaurants where you’re likely to be personally greeted by the owner. Bay Harbor is a luxury waterfront community which includes an upscale shopping district, the award-winning Bay Harbor Golf Club and an amazing cultural center, the Great Lakes Center for the Arts. These amenities make it a world-class vacation destination. Alanson is nestled on the bank of the Crooked River, a major link in the Inland Waterway of northern Michigan, which stretches all the way to Lake Huron. Take a stroll on the boardwalk along the river, or relax at Sanctuary Island. COMMUNITIES Bay View is a century-old community that takes you back to a simpler, more refined era. It touts nearly 500 Victorian cottages, buildings and inns, and has earned designation as a National Historic Landmark. The Downtown Petoskey Trolley stops here in the summer. 11 SPLASH INTO CLEAR BLUE LAKES Just think how great it would be to stroll along a soft-sand Lake Michigan beach right now.
