Beautiful in the day or night, definitely worth the short taxi ride. Dress and act respectfully, this is much more a place of serious worship than a tourist site. Blue Area, Islamabad Financial center. Constitution Avenue Daman-e-Koh, a lookout point in the hills above E-6 with great views of the city on a clear day/night. There is a restaurant and snack stall, and plenty of locals there to relax. Also see Zoo, Japanese park Margalla Hills. Take a nice nature walk in the hills surrounding Islamabad. Lok Virsa museum, recently renovated, a delight. Pakistan museum of Natural history National monument Attend open-air theater or just sit by the Lotus lake or Rawal Lake and relax. Shakarparian is another wonderful place. Consist of beautiful hilly area for a nice evening walk in a green natural atmosphere. Best visited during day light hours as this place is considerably remote at night. Rose & Jasmine Garden is located near Islamabad sports complex & Jinnah Stadium. South of Shahrah-e-Kashmir road and east of Islamabad Hightway. Not too far from Rawal Lake. Fatima Jinnah park & Chattar bagh Buy Islamabad is divided into sectors, each sector having its own central shopping area (or Markaz) where all local amenities are located. Some of the more popular Markaz are the F6 markaz (aka Supermarket) F7 markaz (aka Jinnah Market), F8 markaz (aka Ayub market) and so on. Each markaz has its own peculiarities and each one is worth visiting individually. However most things are catered for in each markaz i.e. clothing, shoes, fast food etc. There’s always a real buzz in the evenings when all the shoppers come out, particularly in the run up to Eid. Foreign Currency Exchange is easily availabe from F-6 Blue Area where there are 100's of money changer privately owned shops.     TOWARDS AN INCLUSIVE PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM IN PAKISTAN1 Muhammad Adeel, Anthony G.O Yeh and Zhang Feng2 Abstract Urban transport in Pakistan is characterized by the coexistence of formal and informal transit services. While urban transport is deregulated and - somehow – multimodal in the country, the transport service providers often compete with each other within their particular constrains and their equilibrium defines the overall landscape of urban accessibility. With examples from the cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the paper discusses three broad constraints on the urban modes of transportation, namely regulatory, spatial and demand related constraints, using a number of important system characteristics. Results show that the overall level of constraints remains ‘Very High’ on the newly constructed BRT, followed by ‘High’ constraints on the informal paratransit mode, ‘Qinqui’. Whereas the Suzuki and Wagon modes coverage remains maximum and they carry relatively lower level of constraints. In this context, an inclusive urban mobility largely depends on a proactive approach by management authorities to minimize these constraints through a number of initiatives including integration of modes, improvements of the quality of service and condition of vehicle, and by facilitating the mobility of women and non-motorized travellers. BACKGROUND Population explosion and rapid urbanization in Asian countries have brought complex mobility challenges for a vast majority of their people who also face issues of poverty, inequality and limited access to basic services (Gakenheimer, 1999). Lack of access to public transport, poor quality of transportation infrastructure, rising levels of personal automobile ownership and a persistent disregard of traffic regulations pose further issues to the already challenging mobility environment (Dimitriou and Gakenheimer, 2011).

They are among the poorest of the poor.According to the World Bank estimates, one in five of the world's poorest people are disabled, and many of them live in low and middle- income groups. Due to the lack of opportunities, many of them are forced to remain confined to their houses. On the other hand, due to inadequate awareness in societies, persons with disabilities are not accepted as a useful human resource in economic development. There is a dire need for putting in place an information bridge administered by persons with disabilities themselves, because they are the best advocate of their issues.After the disastrous earthquake of October 8th, 2005 the population of disabled persons has increased manifold in the country. These issues must be addressed at all levels. For this purpose STEP has initiated the First Information and Resource Centre on Disability with the goal of Empowerment and Capacity Building of Persons with Disabilities.
