Electric Boys Launch Pledgemusic Campaign for New Album
PRESS RELEASE December 21, 2017. For immediate release Electric Boys launch PledgeMusic campaign for new album Formed in Stockholm in 1988, The Electric Boys were born out of the active '80s Swedish rock scene which took its influences from the 60s psychedelia/ 70s hard rock, and fused it with a modern, big sounding production. Early on, the band achieved notable success on the Swedish charts before setting its sights on the rest of the world. In late 1989, the band entered Little Mountain Sound Studio (Aerosmith, AC/DC, Metallica, Mötley Crüe, David Lee Roth) to begin work on their debut album, Funk-O-Metal Carpet Ride, with respected producer Bob Rock (Metallica, Bon Jovi, The Cult, Mötley Crüe). The critically acclaimed album spawned the Billboard Top 20 single, All Lips N' Hips, and quickly established the band as a force to be reckoned with. After months of solid touring in support of Funk-O-Metal Carpet Ride the band reconvened in studio to record follow-up Groovus Maximus which gave the band another Billboard Top 30 single with the song, Mary In The Mystery World, and landed the band at #7 on the Official Swedish Charts. As the album's touring cycle got into full swing the band found the time to contribute a track to the ABBA: The Tribute record. In 1994, the band released Freewheelin' which peaked at #16 on the Official Swedish Album Chart, but would ultimately announce a Farewell show for later in the year in Stockholm. Guitarist singer, Conny Bloom, as well as bassist Andy Christell would go on to play in Hanoi Rocks featuring Michael Monroe. -
The Final Cut
DECEMBER 31, 2001 VOLUME 16 #2 The Final Cut Plotting World Domination from Altoona Otherwise…CD/Tape/Culture analysis and commentary with D’Scribe, D’Drummer, Da Boy, D’Sebastiano’s Doorman, Da Common Man, D’ Big Man, Al, D’Pebble, Da Beer God and other assorted riff raff… D'RATING SYSTEM: 9.1-10.0 Excellent - BUY OR DIE! 4.1-5.0 Incompetent - badly flawed 8.1-9.0 Very good - worth checking out 3.1-4.0 Bad - mostly worthless 7.1-8.0 Good but nothing special 2.1-3.0 Terrible - worthless 6.1-7.0 Competent but flawed 1.1-2.0 Horrible - beyond worthless 5.1-6.0 Barely competent 0.1-1.0 Bottom of the cesspool abomination! SEPTEMBER 11, 2001. At this point in time, there isn’t much I can possibly say about that date that hasn’t already been said time and time again…It looked like a Hollywood disaster movie, but it was real. And while the air crash in Somerset County didn’t get quite the ink or attention of the New York or D.C. terrorist attacks, it brought terrorism home right to our backyard. Nobody is immune or totally safe anymore. Thus far, I’m giving a huge thumbs up to President Bush and our government in their actions in the wake of the attacks. I don’t like war any more than anybody else, but when somebody violates thousands of lives and does so on American soil, something needs to be done. And I approve of the approach thus far – this is a huge criminal investigation. -
Hanoi Rocks ***Brilliant New “Another Hostile Takeover” Album Released June 5Th + June UK Tour with Twisted Sister***
Hanoi Rocks ***Brilliant new “Another Hostile Takeover” album Released June 5th + June UK Tour with Twisted Sister*** Hanoi Rocks, the ultimate street/glam/trash/blues/punk rock’n’roll band that changed the face of rock in the 80’s and inspired a host of bands (including Guns ‘N’ Roses) to form, are set to release a brand new studio album, ‘Another Hostile Takeover’, on Demolition Records, on June 3rd. ‘Another Hostile Takeover’ has already been hailed as ‘The finest actual collection of Hanoi songs these ears have ever heard’ by Classic Rock Magazine’s Jerry Ewing, who reviewed an early promo copy of the album in their April 2006 issue. Hanoi Rocks will play live in June as Special Guests on Twisted Sister’s UK tour. Dates are:- June 5th Glasgow Academy June 6th Manchester Academy June 7th Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall June 27th London Hammersmith Apollo June 28th Nottingham Rock City Hanoi Rocks emerged from Finland in 1980, immediately winning over UK fans with their spiky, punky, total rock ‘n’ roll fury. Their wasted, ‘Don’t Give A Fuck’ attitude, combined with a razor sharp sense of melody, created some of the best rock’n’roll albums of the early Eighties. Front covers of Sounds, Kerrang!, Melody Maker etc. soon established Hanoi Rocks as one of Britain’s favourite bands, while in Japan Hanoi won over hordes of fans, soon topping the International album charts and regularly selling out huge tours. Having cracked the UK and Japanese markets, Hanoi Rocks were well on their way to worldwide superstardom when tragedy struck: in December 1984 their drummer Razzle was killed, when a car, driven by drunken Motley Crue singer Vince Neil, crashed in LA during their first major US tour.
